  1. I don't normally respond to my own messages, but the poor guy who just eye-rolled this, you are going to have a very (VERY) interesting love life. My condolences to your soon to be destroyed sense of masculinity, may god have mercy on your soul.
  2. Having a girlfriend vs a fiance/wife is a monumental gap. Honestly not even remotely relatable circumstances.
  3. I guess next year we roll out an all-new, all-star QB group on their walkers? Kidding aside. A married man can be a dangerous tool if he has NFL money making potential. Or it can be a dud once their focus has to shift to a lucrative career of managing an Arby's to afford diapers. Cause that craps is expensive.
  4. 3-9 here. Tough schedule. We may be better than last year but so is everyone else. Not enough game changers on the team
  5. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/2021-college-football-hot-seat-michigans-jim-harbaugh-leads-cast-of-coaches-facing-win-or-else-season-033254061.html Nothing really new, but the CUSA section had a nice bit to say on North Texas being one of the best G5 roles in the nation. I like to hear that at least
  6. so.. Um... Who would watch this conference besides texas? Which is now split 12 ways on viewership with its intended viewers? Smells like bad business. Diversify that portfolio!
  7. Honestly the bar is pretty low (not terribly so) at QB for us. If Aune or Ruder is the man, then I'm cheering him on every Saturday and bitching every Sunday. I just want the team behind one man only until he's out for injury or incompetence. I think most of this board is hoping ruder turns out to be everything we hope a P5 QB can be, but it sounds like Aune is really making his presence known. I love a good QB competition, just not a QB rotation
  8. Well thanks, my PTSD just set in.
  9. is it time maybe to separate the heisman into a QB category then an "everyone else" category? I can't imagine every one of these QBs is better than every other player in every other on field position
  10. Real eye opener there is Texas Tech... talk about some wasted value!
  11. Wouldn't that kinda sour someone to the whole system? Guy has talent, but if your team is so unsettled that you get shifted to another role and back, I would feel like there's something not quite right. Either with yourself or the team management... He's looking out for himself, that's respectable. The only part of this story that makes me sick is going to SMU. Hope he enjoys his new certified pre-owned hyundai
  12. And yet still old enough to be a few of ya'lls dad
  13. I'm pretty sure half of us here suffered whiskey induced amnesia from that year...
  14. I was worried you'd find the Morris/Fine flaw in my argument... I thought of it right after I hit submit. And yeah, I agree. If the wheels fall off you definitely need to be ready to swap. That's what the backups are for after all. I just think mistakes need to be allowed so we can grow our guys. They all have a few years left, and this year is most likely a write-off. Let them ball and learn.
  15. In fairness, Mumbles hasn't had the greatest record with his brand of chess. It's rare, but occasionally QB by committee can work if you have some exceptional talent. Ohio State had it a few years back, Baylor pulled it off once too, but those are teams with exceptional talent. We have ok talent, so the luxury of swapping them out just isn't one of our strengths Now, I'm not saying Aune should be or will be the starter, but by end of camp you pick the best and put all your chips on him (slammed a poker reference alongside checkers/chess).
  16. Key point: CUSA. Basically we were a trash can fire next to a dumpster fire. Relative optics are not our friend here.
  17. I hate this take. Pick a car and drive it. The more we keep swapping the less efficient we will be. Confidence also goes a long way. So pick a winner, give him the keys and go. Our QB by committee has never worked.
  18. Lets see how glad we are after getting our rears handed to us by P̶h̶o̶e̶n̶i̶x̶ ̶C̶h̶r̶i̶s̶t̶i̶a̶n̶...uh.. Liberty U
  19. And yet that possibility exists to win that or less. And its rather probable too, which scares me. Worst conference in CFB with a coach making p5 money and a winning season is not even on anyone's radar? Oh hell no. He should be canned. But won't be due to buyout. Always happy to be wrong still.
  20. What are others teams facing (or looking at) in terms of returning starters and games played. It could be that 215 is really low or just average. Without relative constraints we can't say its good or bad. I could look it up, but... Lazy.
  21. But seriously. The 215 career starts figure needs relative comparison. What are other teams facing? 215 may be a left tail standard deviation still compared to other teams. Of course it's larger than 59, but in a vacuum it tells us nothing
  22. Anyone else suddenly a pre-season Bucs fan? Crazy how this team with from UTEP levels of dumpster fire to my second favorite team to watch. I think Darden is going to get a LOT of pre-season WR snaps (even though he's relegated to returner, right?)
  23. It boggles my mind why anyone is high on Aune after last season. It was the, very literal, on field translation of the word "Meh". As for slack, just go for whoever wins the camp. Don't pull and swap and twist and whatever we did last year. Whoever shows the best product just go with it. Caveat: unless they put up a performance on par with Greer and Mcnulty, then you pull them. I'll never forget that first snap at UT with Greer...
  24. https://sports.yahoo.com/big-12-pac-12-meeting-200038490.html I feel like this has some legs to run on, makes a lot more sense than AAC/Big12 Doesn't help us still... But good business
