UTEP played so very much worse than I expected. All the hype with none of the substance. We did a bit better than I expected as well. So, it's a bit of a wash, but my spirits are *lightly* lifted Again, just have to reiterate, UTEP really was awful looking.

All of that is on point except... This is UTEP. Arguably one of the worst teams we should face this year. And we are barely holding on.

We who watch this are the absolute core of the fanbase. We are the ones inviting our brother in laws to games. The ones who invite our seconds cousins' old roommate's drinking buddy who was really good at magic tricks involving pretzel sticks to games. After watching his delivery I would have a hard time inviting my dog into the living room to watch with me while I drink super cheap whiskey. Don't overlook any fans.

As odd as it sounds, I don't 100% disagree. I mean, going into the AAC after beating their resident sugar daddy and a new entrant has a nice appeal. 10-2 isn't really an option on the menu right now either though. So... hooray for the little wins?

Your thread title shows exactly how far we've fallen. *IF* we beat UTEP. One of the CUSA bottom feeders. Beating UTEP shouldn't be a goal but a g*damned American right guaranteed by the consitution. I'll take the win, but I sure as heck am not forgiving SL for getting us to this point.

You're so desperate to defend against the minutia that you are missing the larger point: An SMU degree is worth almost the same as a UNT one. How would I know? I have hired several financial analyst from both. And UTA. And other area universities. Unless you land a job as an entry level VP thanks to your dad owning the company.... We still pay your the same and I can guarantee you the skill sets are the same. Usually its the UTA guy who works hardest cause he always had to.

Of that, we are 100% aligned. Good...bad.... Its UNT football. I've seen worse and I hope to see better. But just happy to have the excuse to day drink.
