DRC: As expected, Simmons transfer to UNT official
Bullyballer replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Wow- why would someone give me a bad rep for stating what's going on? Crazy. Someone must really like Greg- but it's clear the coach is moving in another direction. -

DRC: Police make fourth arrest in UNT basketball case
Bullyballer replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Writing about it in an article, but still posting his mugshot next to the other guys defeats the purpose. He continues to be the face of this investigation, because he was the first person to turn himself in. Even though he's not part of the investigation. Remember a picture is worth a thousand words. They should limit his picture being associated with this and only address his involvement in the article. My opinion. If not, they will continue to do damage to him, beyond whats necessary. And, I'm not sure what you mean by saying they've gone out of their way. They are doing what reporters do. I don't think they are doing him a favor by stating the facts. That's the job. -

Andrew, I thought the same thing. Why keep putting Brice's picture next to the other guys? By now, I'm sure, Brett knows it is unlikely he is involved in any of the main crimes. Ridiculous -
I know I will probably get burned for this, but I can't help but to wonder why the young lady/ladies in this case are "victims". There are plenty of sexual assault victims and forced sexual situations that happen too often. However, in this case, it appears, that she was "asked" to do something illegal for money. I haven't heard anything about strong-arm tactics or intimidation to force her into anything. She could say hell no and get out of my face with that craziness or she could look at the money and say hmmmm, maybe. Either way, people have asked me to do many things in my long life. I said no to the things I didn't want to do and yes the ones I wanted. Although, what the 2 guys did was illegal and will be dealt with in the courts. It appears the young lady was an accomplice to the criminal activity and either had a change of heart, felt like she was being taken advantage of (financially) or when the Resident Assistant found out, she made the call to end this. I can see how being asked by "celebrities" can add additional pressure and it's hard to say no sometimes. But I just can't see my daughter (if I had one) agreeing to smoke crack, rob a bank, kill someone, or... have sex for money, just because someone asked her to. Please don't beat me up too bad, just my thoughts. I'm open to debate, if not disrespectful.

Former Bball players under investigation
Bullyballer replied to Lurker's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I do know they are very different, but in close proximity. And, the trading a joint for a blow job is a simplistic view, but for that I was pointing more to the promoting prostitution accusation. The organized criminal activity, would be the purchase of weed for profit. And let's not act like charging statements don't exaggerate possible crimes. -

All I have heard about is an "Investigation" and Brice being arrested with what amounts to a ticket in most states now days. But some how, he has become the face of what's alleged, as if its all true. From everything I know about Brice is he's a very nice young man, that's never been in any trouble EVER. Not even been in a fight before. Now, based on accusations alone, he's being looked at like he's Frank Lucas, running a prostitution ring. Obviously, he's made a bad decision, that will affect his life. It's totally possible, that the alleged "promoting prostitution" could be offering weed for sex, from a single person. It's also possible, that the alleged "organized criminal activity", could be the belief that the purchase of weed, was to profit, in some way, including using it bargain for sex. Outside of actually having weed in his possession, the other accusations could come from a single source. And finally, it's very possible, that the source could be untrue. Guess what guys- some college students smoke marijuana, and some students sell it to the students that smoke it. I know this is a surprise to some, but this happens. Also, news flash, some student athletes get accused of things, sometimes its true, sometimes its false. Let's let the Investigation complete before we mark everything accused as being true. I find it odd, that if warrants are issued for other students, that they haven't been arrested. I doubt any of them are hard to find.- 127 replies

So far, he looks the best of the new guards. Should be interesting. I see him putting pressure on Ryan. However, Ryan is a great defender and hustle player.- 8 replies

Fuller hasn't changed to show merit? Not sure you know anything about Fuller. He was a FRESHMAN last year and hasn't played a game this year. So you can't really say he hasn't changed. No one knows. As far as the team, there are really good pieces that a good coach would be able to mold and use. A good coach can get much more out of at least 8 returning players on this team. I do not think Holston, Brown, or Brice have anything to worry about. Also, don't be so quick to slap a freshman in the starting line-up against any of the junior guards. Lawson did well this year, but that was after a lot of bad, ill advised shots, that most coaches would have advised against, but Benford allowed. Lawson had a long leash, not a guarantee Wainwright will. Can a good coach mold these guys, instead of one on one offense? The turn-overs by our guards are outrageous- don't know many coaches who would put up with that.

Ok, so Lawson comes out in the 2nd half with 4 turnovers and he hits 1 3pt and coach is happy? Crazy
