I certainly agree we've made it out just fine as well. About Pavia, he has the Mason Fine underdog, undersized, underappreciated moxie to him. Watch him play some and it's hard not to love the guy.
-
That 4th and 1 TD throw was pure magic by both Pavia and the WR.

Yes. No, I think after winning the past 2 games against FBS schools by 27 and 32, this team is still being underestimated. Granted this is a road game but 7.5 points (line has moved to 6.5) against a bad FAU team is a slap in the face. Or at least the players and coaches should view it as such. FAU lost to UConn 48-14 just a few weeks ago. Their only wins are against FIU (who lost to Monmouth) and Wagner. This spread should be posted in every room at the training facility as motivation. Destroy FAU. I guess you can always spin the spread as bulletin board material, sure. Just saying the players and coaches should feel disrespected after their past 2 games. I feel like running through a UNT themed wall.

Bulletin board material.

Who's really hating on him though? Whatever his reason for leaving is irrelevant to me. He's no longer on the team and I don't necessarily care for Cal though I'd have preferred they beat Miami. I don't want him to struggle, just indifferent. Did he ball out at times? Sure, in the second half of games. I think he was overall overrated otherwise. He dug us in holes against every decent opponent but he was fun to watch during those failed comeback attempts. He also fumbled far too often and it seemed like a couple throws were batted down ever single game. Still fun to watch. I think we upgraded but it's still too early to tell.

And still lost. Glad he got his first TD in week 5. Next.

Milestone Electric had $80 million in revenue in 2020 and $150 million in 2022. This per The Successful Contractor podcast which the owner was on in 2020 and 2022. To the original topic, winning cures all for sure. Something I wonder is if recent college graduates are working more on the weekends than previous generations. Either way, we need consistent high-level winning. My kids know UNT. I'm sure everybody else here has raised their kids around UNT. How many alumni were raised as fans of traditional power programs and will raise their kids as such despite going to UNT themselves? Have a few 10+ win seasons and maybe lifelong fans will be made of our current students. One things for sure, you can't have 1 bowl win in 20 years and zero 10+ win seasons in your history and expect people to care. The program needs better results on a consistent basis.

This but make it a magnet with the schedule on the front. Who doesn't need more magnets on the fridge to hold their kid's latest artwork?

I wonder if he'd convert to WR. We've seen an increasing number of vertically challenged QBs in the NFL these past few years though so maybe he can stay at QB. I think he'll get looks regardless.
-
Yep. He landed at the worst SEC program that won zero conference games last year, hadn't beat Alabama in 40 years, and was 0-60 against top 5 opponents in their history dating back to the beginning of the poll era in 1936. You have to respect the grit.

And you know this how? He graduated, entered the portal, and went to the powerhouse known as Vanderbilt. Edit to add, how is it not stealing from JUCO to FBS? By your logic, you should only go to one school. He finished what he could at a JUCO then went to an FBS school to complete his undergrad studies then he graduated and went for graduate school elsewhere. Your post reeks of hypocrisy.
-
NMSU stole him first. Plus he graduated so stop crying.
-
It did last!! Diego Pavia did it! I remember posting about him when he entered the portal and some here didn't want him. The kid is a gamer.

Now 28-7 for Army. Dang, 35-7. Couldn't even reply before they scored again.

Thursday/Friday FBS/FCS Games - 10/3 and 10/4

Different QB. Fritz lit a fire under them. He's a good coach so I'm not surprised. -

Was about to comment. The offense looked pretty decent early on. Defense looks fired up too. We'll see how this second half progresses. -
But UNT cut homecoming due to waste and sustainability.
-
Maybe our school and students should aspire to be more like the liberal schools on the west coast who now fly cross-country for conference athletics. Seems like sustainability is no longer "in." Get with it, UNT students and Dentonites. Waste is in-style and very Westcoast-like.

Do they even do the parade anymore? I wanted to take my kids a year or two ago and found the parade was no longer a thing. The admin can't cry about lack of involvement when they've been removing events and traditions that generate excitement and build connections to the school.

Winning against ranked opponents, conference championships, and bowl games every 3-4 years would be an improvement. Since the 2005 season we have 1 bowl win, 1 win against a ranked opponent, 0 conference championships. That's 18 freshmen classes and however many graduating classes who have had that type of performance to kick off their college football experience.

"The DJ is too loud." "Why do we need constant music blaring, I want to hear the band." "It's so loud I can't even have pleasant conversations with the people next to me." We've seen the above complaints on this board. We want fans and students but don't want an environment that excites younger graduates and students.

People call the cops on quite literally everything and anything. It's ridiculous. As you said, the things we did ourselves are no longer allowed, usually via parent rules. As a parent I think we get in our own head because of the horror stories we read about or hear about in the news. Those stories are news worthy because they're rare. Every day things aren't newsworthy no matter how bad the event. I again blame us parents. We let my stepson go fishing at a nearby pond alone. He's been going for a couple years now. He's responsible so we trust him to go alone. I went places alone as a kid growing up in Dallas. Not far but still alone with no phone. It is what it is. I just hope us adults can come to the understanding that we need to let our kids be put in uncomfortable situations and work their way through it. They deserve to be built up in to strong adults. It's our job to do that, though. The long game is that society needs us to actually do that job that we signed up for when we became parents.

Marriage rates are at a 50 year low though. Less kids are being raised in 2-parent households. https://www.bgsu.edu/ncfmr/resources/data/family-profiles/loo-marriage-rate-US-geographic-variation-2022-fp-23-23.html My opinion is this generation, close to my generation as I'm in my 30s, aren't being taught accountability, organizational skills, work ethic, and communication skills. I see it with my step-kids whose schools allow them to turn-in work whenever with no penalty even if well past the deadline. These kids also don't know how to speak to a human face-to-face or over the phone unless it's written messages. They think it's awkward. I've had to tell my wife to make them order their own food when we go out because they don't want to speak to a stranger. My teenage step-daughter would literally hide behind us a couple years ago or make her brothers order for her. Yesterday she was so proud because she called a help desk herself for login assistance for an online account. She's 17 and is afraid of people. School? Online. Talk to friends? Text or social media. We're failing our kids. I'm trying to do better. We need to better prepare our kids for the real world. They're not learning basic skills that are critical in maintaining a job.

Forgive my title formatting. Just wanted to create a topic for this kid since he had a game invite vs Tulsa.
