  1. He thanks Tarleton and says he has flipped to UNT.
  2. I think I saw this from some Texas A&M players that they didn't get paid what they thought they would. Wonder if they did get the gross dollar amount but taxes killed them, if it's what you said, or both.
  3. That's absolutely wild. This is where having a video game numbers offense will help, IMO. Some guys will be left out of the top NIL craze and may choose to come UNT for a couple years to boost their stock for that grad transfer money. Pro athletes do this occasionally where they take a smaller and/or shorter deal to gamble on themselves for a better deal long-term. Big NIL deals may only come for one year for most guys unless they end up the starter and put up big numbers. Younger QBs may see $400k to fight for a number 1 spot as a risk 2 years down the line because the NIL deal will run out after that 1 year. If they end up QB2, that $400k may be their only NIL deal. Or come to UNT put up 4000 yards and 35+ TDs and then go to one of the blue bloods and get $1.5 mil. Up to you. Hopefully this makes sense as I'm probably just rambling.
  4. Hudson Emeterio has some pop in his film. Really lays the wood. I can see him being next year's Landon Sides but on the defensive side. Something to think about when observing his 6'4" 225 pound frame is this baseball prospect website says his age is 17 years and 8 months. Talk about having room to grow. https://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=744816
  5. Yeah QB pieces are barely falling into place. People need to relax on that position. While it's a big one, you'll likely see big schools only take 1 if they're paying top dollar. After that, guys will find their landing spots. It's not like other position groups where schools may take 4-5 guys. As some QBs have committed, others have entered the portal including the number HS recruit from 2023, Malachi Nelson. There's plenty of quality QBs in the portal. Maybe even more than open starting jobs and most won't get the big NIL deal they seek.
  6. Correct. More gimmick plays like how he was used with Littrell. I know the talent level is different but it's only about 10 years ago that Auburn made the national championship game running the triple option with a gimmick running QB. Edit to add, I don't think this is the preferred route but the going rate for top tier QBs is more than our HC is making. They're going to have to find ways to be creative if they can't land a transfer QB1. I personally think think the coaches will get a legit guy in to be the actual QB1 but there is a way to use Earle for 5ish snaps per game and generate some big plays. Am I the only surprised that didn't happen last year? Maybe it'll happen this year.
  7. Maybe seeing him in those first 2 games will better help them gameplan around his strengths and weaknesses.
  8. Thanks, we worked really hard with the memes here on gomeangreen.com.
  9. How do we know this move wasn't planned before Morris brought in Leftwich? Associate Head Coach is a nice bump in title and responsibility even if it is at a lower classification. Maybe Smith felt it was time for a new challenge. In the same breath, I really want Morris to find a way to bump up Cobbs' pay and give him a greater title. He's earned it. Co-OC at the very least should be in the works in the next year or I'd imagine bigger jobs will come calling.
  10. Per his Twitter bio, 1 year of eligibility left after being a 3 time all-conference DB.
  11. Turnovers: UNT 16 Miss State 3 Steals: UNT 1 Miss State 8 Blocks: UNT 1 Miss State 5 Assists: UNT 4 Miss State 15 Off Rebs: UNT 10 Miss State 17 No surprise who won with such stark differences in those categories.
  12. Guess you'll have to subscribe to find out.
  13. Yeah completely understandable. Plus that 15% to Baylor is a drop in the bucket considering their tuition costs.
  14. Guess he's not going to Baylor for baseball anymore. Interesting.
  15. I think this guy was missed on here but he's an offensive lineman from D2 Northwestern Oklahoma State. 6'2" 300lb from Fort Worth. I believe he'll be a junior. Plays center and guard. He's followed by Coach Owens on Twitter so I'm assuming he is in fact coming to UNT but it may be as a PWO based on the different graphics.
  16. Alright as somebody who was sitting in the endzone row 2 for the Memphis game (and others), I'm ecstatic about all the DB transfers to go along with our young DBs.
  17. Was just about to post this! Huge! https://247sports.com/player/jaden-pettway-46138450/
  18. What did you see on Instagram?
  19. Hopefully you do recognize UNT commit Baron Tipton amongst Griffin's supporting cast. If Griffin chooses to come here and he wins the job, that could be a duo to enjoy for some years.
  20. I'm guessing this former Virginia Tech OL who's in the portal? He entered around December 8th. https://www.on3.com/transfer-portal/news/virginia-tech-ol-johnny-dickson-enters-ncaa-transfer-portal/
  21. https://247sports.com/player/landon-peterson-46054022/ OT from Texas Tech. 6'6" 300 pound senior.
  22. There goes Green with another big TD.
  23. I've also wondered about this guy for Aledo https://247sports.com/player/keiran-patrick-daniels-46114521/. Hawk Patrick-Daniels. He was committed to Incarnate Word until 14 minutes ago per Twitter. 15 total TDs on the year but he really set the playoffs on fire. Seems like a Swiss army knife. His Twitter shows him at 5'11" and 175 so not huge but has speed.
  24. Thanks. My assumption is several are high school recruits either waiting for the end of HS playoffs or just waiting on early signing day but we'll see.
