Yeah QB pieces are barely falling into place. People need to relax on that position. While it's a big one, you'll likely see big schools only take 1 if they're paying top dollar. After that, guys will find their landing spots. It's not like other position groups where schools may take 4-5 guys. As some QBs have committed, others have entered the portal including the number HS recruit from 2023, Malachi Nelson. There's plenty of quality QBs in the portal. Maybe even more than open starting jobs and most won't get the big NIL deal they seek.

Correct. More gimmick plays like how he was used with Littrell. I know the talent level is different but it's only about 10 years ago that Auburn made the national championship game running the triple option with a gimmick running QB. Edit to add, I don't think this is the preferred route but the going rate for top tier QBs is more than our HC is making. They're going to have to find ways to be creative if they can't land a transfer QB1. I personally think think the coaches will get a legit guy in to be the actual QB1 but there is a way to use Earle for 5ish snaps per game and generate some big plays. Am I the only surprised that didn't happen last year? Maybe it'll happen this year.

Maybe seeing him in those first 2 games will better help them gameplan around his strengths and weaknesses.

How do we know this move wasn't planned before Morris brought in Leftwich? Associate Head Coach is a nice bump in title and responsibility even if it is at a lower classification. Maybe Smith felt it was time for a new challenge. In the same breath, I really want Morris to find a way to bump up Cobbs' pay and give him a greater title. He's earned it. Co-OC at the very least should be in the works in the next year or I'd imagine bigger jobs will come calling.

I think this guy was missed on here but he's an offensive lineman from D2 Northwestern Oklahoma State. 6'2" 300lb from Fort Worth. I believe he'll be a junior. Plays center and guard. He's followed by Coach Owens on Twitter so I'm assuming he is in fact coming to UNT but it may be as a PWO based on the different graphics.

Alright as somebody who was sitting in the endzone row 2 for the Memphis game (and others), I'm ecstatic about all the DB transfers to go along with our young DBs.

He was committed to Incarnate Word until 14 minutes ago per Twitter. 15 total TDs on the year but he really set the playoffs on fire. Seems like a Swiss army knife. His Twitter shows him at 5'11" and 175 so not huge but has speed.

Of course this is no indication of the quality of their academics but to say AAU status dictates admission standards seems incorrect. Nebraska-Lincoln was the last school to lose AAU status back in 2011 so it doesn't seem like membership is often revoked either.

We just lost several receivers to graduation and the portal. I know we have many freshmen receivers coming in but a guy with some Big 12 experience doesn't hurt when we use so many receivers.

Rivals shows him at 6'4" 255 and Maxpreps at 6'4" 240. This stuff is rarely every accurate by the time they graduate. If the 247 profile is created as a sophomore, I think the player themselves would have to contact 247 to have the info updated which doesn't seem to ever happen.
