  1. 21-11 now. What could possibly curse us? The 2/4 start at the free throw line. Those couple points could be the difference.
  2. A Scott is on fire and commanding double teams. Nows the time to whip the ball around, get them scrambling on defense, and make them pay for doubling Scott. Need to take advantage of that.
  3. I think they said he hurt it in practice but he was a game time decision until shoot around when it was determined he would be out
  4. What? They put up the stat during the game... G5s were 4-5 (now 4-6) in NY6 bowls since 2014 which was the first year of the 4 team playoffs. I don't know about you but 4-6 against the best of the best doesn't seem too shabby overall considering the G5s only get 1 representative per year.
  5. So you'd want us to get another Chandler Rogers who will leave after a year? If I'm not mistaken, there are only three AAC schools who have lost their starting QB to the portal: us, FAU, and Temple. Every other QB is either out of eligibility or returning to their school. USF's freshman QB just put up 3300 passing yards 26 TDs to 11 Ints with 800 rushing yards and 11 rush TDs and he announced he's returning. He may leave after next year but they all leave eventually. Seth Henigan is returning. Again, us, FAU, and Temple are the only AAC schools losing their starters to the portal and FAU's transfered to FCS Florida A&M. It's all the same. Give me the guy with upside who may stay instead of the guy who's rode the pine for 4 years and will require a replacement after a year anyways. And again, the SBC guy with reps that we got left aftera year too.
  6. If he's visiting I'd imagine there's a good chance he lands here. He spent a year at OU and then three at TCU. If he's back in the portal, it's probably because he wants to start. For those wondering about NIL money, Morris probably has a future in coaching if he's interested considering his dad has relationships that can help open doors. I don't think this is one of the situations where the guy is just chasing an NIL payday before being out of football.
  7. Ward has not been drafted and I doubt he'll be a first round pick. He'll be drafted, probably day 2 if I had to guess. Still very impressive.
  8. You know, the whole DC and QB talk is funny to me because it reminds me of the same discussions that were had when Aune was here. If we could just have some long, time crunching scoring drives, it would do wonders. In other words, the best thing we can do is keep our defense off the field. Scoring is great. Scoring fast is scary because it gives the other team the ball back.
  9. Morris won the starting TCU job in 2022 only to miss the season due to injury. Rogers bounced around between FBS and JUCO before finally earning the starting QB position at ULM. I just viewed him as a bit raw when he came here. Many on the board were even more skeptical than I was but yes, we were fortunate to land him for coach Morris' first season here. It showed many what this new offensive system could do.
  10. Gotcha. The completion percentage and yards per attempt are most important to me so I certainly wouldn't snub Morris in those categories. Worth noting, in my opinion, that through 3 seasons at TCU, Morris' completion percentage has remained consistently in the 65% or better range. Yes, some of that is in limited snaps, but the point is, accuracy has never appeared to be an issue.
  11. A is Chandler Rogers at ULM. I guess the point is we have the coaches in place to turn lemons into lemonade?
  12. That's not true and there's pleny of current examples at the G5 level of starters staying at their schools. Also, the guy who's been riding the bench for 4 seasons has been on the bench for a reason. 99.9% of the time, he's not FBS starting quality.
  13. I agree. I'd rather have a young guy with 2-3 years left to grow.
  14. I had the game on as I did other stuff so I missed some moments but from what I saw, it's that dang full court press that gave our squad fits just as it does our men's team. The difference maker in this game has to be rebounding though. They put up a stat that showed Temple is one of the best offensive rebounding squads in the country. Well, they had 17 offensive rebounds but we out-rebounded them by a total of 49-31. Total team effort on the defensive glass.
  15. And we can now light the tower. UNT 74 - 63 Temple
  16. The ladies are about to get their first conference win as they lead Temple 73-63 with 16.5 seconds to go! Edited the date... not 2023 anymore.
  17. He's not the guy at Texas State, though.
  18. This did make me realize though that Michael Pratt took over the starting job week 3 of his true freshman year. Just something to think about as we obsess about landing a transfer who's been a backup his entire college career.
  19. Underclassmen? One senior who's been in college since 2019, a junior who's been a full time starter for 4 seasons, and a junior who's played a majority of games for 4 seasons. I know two are technically underclassmen by classification but they're not by experience.
  20. So as of right now, we have JD Head, Earle, and McCollum?
  21. You're telling me I might spend the final 40 years of my life with FSU fans complaining about how they don't have enough money because they're giving investors free cash?
  22. Those things can be true for both UNT and SMU. The difference is, we're not on social media claiming to be "P3." Your fan base has been loud ever since whoring your way into an ACC that doesn't want you but the reality is, you don't look or behave like a power conference school despite being loud about it. If you're going to make noise about something, expect to be called out when you fall short.
  23. I think the only way it gets fixed throughout college is by moving the bowl games up closer to the end of the season and the opening of the transfer portal back. The timing of it all has complicated things. How can you play for a team in a bowl when you're no longer with the team? I saw where Tim Beck of Coastal Carolina was entertaining allowing players to compete in the bowl even if they're in the portal but that just sounds like a mess. I'd say the portal needs to open after all bowls are over with and move the bowls closer to championship week so it feels like it's still part of the season. Smart saying they'll feel like glorified scrimmages if things continue is funny to me because they've always felt like that to me when they're so far removed from the season. Regarding FSU having too many opt-outs, it really shows their character. I understand the occasional opt-out who's had injury issues and is nursing that but this was guys just not wanting to compete and prove themselves. They were so upset about getting left out of the 4 team playoff that they decided not to play the reigning champions 2 days before they would have played the semi-final game had they made the cut. The timing mostly the same. No reason not to play yesterday if you were willing to play tomorrow. To me it just shows they're not a championship team and the committee was right to leave them out. Georgia players were upset as well but they showed up to play even with guys like Brock Bowers out due to injury.
  24. The final score looks like it should. 80-57.
