Quad 2 for now but they could end up in the top 75 which would make this Quad 1. Could end up being a huge win for us.
-
We missed those free throws on purpose so Lorient could get the poster. All part of the plan. 3 straight wins against Big 10 opponents per the Minnesota fan commentators.
-
Trying to understand the turnover for the 10 second violation. It's at 21 when it goes out of bounds but the clock trickles to 20 as clocks often do so they give Minnesota the ball? After they tipped it out of bounds?
-
Big 10 made the call.
-
They are calling everything on North Texas...

Eric Nadel couldn't describe him better.

I don't want to get in a shooting contest with Garcia but I'm glad our guys aren't backing down. Keep playing tough defense and make them earn every shot.
-
Had to expect it. Now we see what 2024-2025 UNT is made of.

Sissoko with a great back down and finish.

My goodness the transition 3. Bang, as they say.

They're respecting him for now, though. Who knows if it lasts.

McGill scored in the 2nd Quarter.

Agreed. You could clearly see the ball in hand cross before the knee hit the ground in my opinion. The only issue I can see is "the camera isn't exactly on the line." Game changing call but with 3 more downs from the 1, should it have mattered this much if the offense is truly elite? I don't know what's more frustrating: the call or that the offense was exposed? And to add, not only does the ball just need to break the plane, it can break it and then go back out. Live play is essentially ended once the plane is broken. Seeing where his body was and the video review shown on TV, I don't know how you don't rule that a touchdown. -

The play was reviewed and they determined there was insufficient evidence to overturn the call. Had they ruled a TD in live play, I believe it would have also stood. -
There's a lot of guys who can coach until they get to the FBS level. Recently fired ECU head coach Mike Houston was plucked from James Madison and he finished 27-38 at ECU. I do like James Madison's philosphy, though. They hire experienced college head coaches. Houston was a college HC for 5 seasons, Cignetti for 8, and the current guy Chesney for 13 prior to their stops at JMU.

***OFFICIAL ARMY VS MEAN GREEN IN-GAME DISCUSSION***
GMG_Dallas replied to Mean Green Newz's topic in Mean Green Football
Daily had three runs near the 50 all game and all 3 came with the game at 7-3 and before the 4th quarter. Are you're really suggesting they were draining the clock up 4 with 20+ minutes to go instead of expanding their lead to two possessions? Our defense was not shut down, sure. No G5 defense really ever is against the service academies if you think death by paper cut for 10 plays without allowing a score doesn't count. Your statements that our defense couldn't force turnovers for long periods of play and even lucked out on a fumble are asinine. Army doesn't committ foolish turnovers. They've had 3 turnovers all year, 2 of which were this past Saturday in Denton. That's not luck. You don't want to give credit where it's due and that's fine. I'll move on to next week. You can keep ignoring the jobs our defense and special teams (sniffed out the fake punt) did. If our offense were truly elite, we'd have at least scored 1 touchdown. Couldn't even do that. -

It was a touchdown. I'm also flabbergasted at how it wasn't overturned. That said, we failed to execute where we had control. Morris can't throw into coverage like on the first pic and can't throw that 2nd interception with Sides wide freaking open in the flat. There were other near pics during the game. Not sure what Morris was doing but his decision making was off all game. -
This is such an odd claim to make. Army had two drives go 10 plays or more, one ended in a punt and the other resulted in a TD. Otherwise they had a 9 play 48 yard drive that they scored a TD on due to a failed onside kick. The other 3 drives we got off the field within 7 plays or less (not counting the final drive). Considering they pretty much always go for it on 4th and short, I'd consider that a success in getting off the field. Not counting the end of half "drives" against ECU, Army scored on 7 of 10 possessions. Against UAB they scored on 7 of 9. Against Tulsa they scored on 8 of 9. Against Temple 6 of 10. Against Rice 5 of 8. Against UNT, 2 of 6 not counting the final possession of the game. Just some numbers for perspective. I've posted this nonstop but this was the first multi-turnover game of the year for Army. It was their QBs first interception. We held them to their lowest point total in 14 games. What more did the defense need to do? I've also posted this before: our offense is explosive but inconsistent. Good but not great. This game is a prime example. Every week we go dry for 4 or 5 straight drives. That may be ok when you get 14 offensive possessions but against a team that takes a 50 seconds off the clock with every snap, you can't go dry like that. It is what it is, I guess. Just another example of this offensive philosophy not being made for winning football.

The Army QB threw his first interception of the year today and they had multiple turnovers for the first time all season. Try again. -
I could even hear them on the TV broadcast. It was great. Geeze we are so bush league.
-
See this is where the problem starts and stops with Eric Morris. He's hyper aggressive from the start and puts the defense in terrible situations from the beginning. Then when the defense allows repeated short TD scoring drives or allows 40+ despite being on the field for 15 possessions, we blame them and wonder why they can't do more. We saw today that they are capable. We've got to stop saying he does it as an anticipation of bad defense. This really starts and stops with Eric Morris.
-
Bryson Daily threw his first interception of the season. Per the announcers, Army had multiple turnovers for the first time all year. Army scored 14 points despite averaging 37.9 ppg on the year but yes, you're right, the defense was not a strength.

Sadly 3 points against Army may not get him hired away as an OC. -
