  1. If I'm being completely honest, I don't even really care who turns into commits. I've had a hard time caring about the recruiting cycles in football lately. You get guys, several don't even make it to campus or leave before the fall, and others end up being busts so the hype isn't even worth investing in emotionally. Basketball is more steady, IMO.
  2. And their football program has won 3 bowl games and 2 conference championships in the 7 or 8 seasons since it was brought back. They do a great job with recruiting in both football and basketball and seem to get a lot of support/private funding.
  3. That school has really got athletics figured out.
  4. I need help here. Is this the most accomplished/experienced transfer class we've had in the McCasland/Hodge era(s)? Not asking about how those classes panned out, just the class itself at commitment/signing. I feel we needed to be sold a lot more during other recent recruiting cycles. This is all looking really good.
  5. Commits to St John's
  6. Been a lot of DL offers going out. Maybe they were encouraged to leave to make room?
  7. All in one day or do you spread it out?
  8. If it wasn't out of the bag before, it is now since you decided to post it on a public forum.
  9. Yeah there's exceptions to the height standard. Just think we need another athletic transfer closer to 6'10".
  10. That's not a bad idea. I don't see it happening though.
  11. On the flip side my dad was mostly committed to unemployment but still bounced around in life... 3 wives, 3 countries. Anyways, I think your reasoning is, well, unreasonable but it's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I hope Massie does well here and in the post-UNT.
  12. Conflicted. He was a good rebounder at the SWAC level but he's 6'7". How will that transfer to the AAC? He could certainly be successful here at that height but I hope we're going after more true bigs.
  13. It's his second. McNeese State for 2 seasons then Longwood now UNT. Do you hate him now?
  14. I do too. There's some on this board who curse the system when we lose players to the portal but all of a sudden they're all excited when we gain somebody from it. If that's not you then carry on.
  15. So we hate the system when we lose players and love it when we gain players. So we're hypocrites.
  16. He rejected Kentucky.
  17. I'm hearing Caleb Williams is withdrawing from the NFL draft and transferring to UNT after getting a lifetime mani-pedi offer from a local nail salon.
  18. The only other option if we're looking at end of October, early November would be the November 9th game against Army. Maybe they want to do something special for that as well? I do feel they could do better than to have it on the same day as the Day of the Dead festival.
  19. Being a freshman means more upside for the simple reason that he has more time to develop into a stud. If Earle and McCollum can give you about the same right now, I'd rather go with the guy who has 3 more years. That early experience is valuable. I'm thinking of the Fine vs Morris battle where neither was going to give you much but rolling with the freshman payed dividends the following 3 years. Back to the onfield play, if McCollum can't figure out the intermediate game, that's going to be a problem for us.
  20. Based on what you saw yesterday, if Morris is QB1 but goes down for some games, who would you rather take over: Earle or McCollum? Obviously Earle has the experience but McCollum has more upside with him being a freshman. Who do you feel is more capable of winning a game or two if needed? I'm still scarred by that FIU game...
  21. Completely agree. It was just a question out of curiosity. That deep ball threat still has to exist to keep the safeties honest.
  22. I wasn't there. Only stat that sticks out to me is that Earle threw 1 TD pass and Cash McCollum, the early enrollee true freshman, had 150 passing yards for 2 TDs. Either Cash is the real deal or we better hope Chandler Morris is the real deal.
  23. Is this a serious concern? He's the president of IMG Academy. That's not just some high school level program.
