  1. 247 bumped Steward down to a 3 star. Don't know why but saw that the other day...
  2. Starting point guard averages 14 PPG and check out his vertical. He's now 5 ft 9 in.
  3. Ok Thank you. I think he requested them last week so maybe he just hasn't received them yet... I guess we'll see!
  4. Sent in the mail or email?
  5. They've either blown out inferior opponents or been blown out by superior opponents. Not much gray in their scores. They've only shot 12 more threes than we have (per ESPN) and they've played an additional game than we have but they do shoot 41% from three. Free throw percentage is about the same as ours. They've led at the half in all of their wins and trailed at the half in all of their losses. Just some quick facts I thought were interesting. Didn't dig deep into anything but it looks like we'll need to punch them in the mouth early if we want to win. Also like our chances if the game goes down to the wire since they haven't played any close games. Thought it was worth mentioning that their leader in scoring and rebounding has been out since the Tulane game (game 2 of the year). Not sure what the deal is but their next three leading scorers are averaging around 14, 13, and 12 PPG.
  6. My brother requested tickets as a first responder but hasn't received anything. Anybody have more information about that? He got a confirmation saying tickets would be sent. Does he just take the confirmation and show his badge or ID at the gate?
  7. No offense taken. Don't really know why that would offensive anyways. Y'all have been around UNT much longer than me so I trust you know what you're talking about. If that is true, then I can only retract my statement that about UTA and Arlington. It would seem obvious to me that a city do anything possible to better its major university. I mean, other than UNT, peterbuilt, and TWU, Denton doesn't really have much. You would think they would strive to have a strong partnership but I guess not... That's sad. I know we expect a lot of Baker, but is this something you think he can help fix? What can university officials do to strengthen this relationship?
  8. I don't define support the way you do. Helping fund a facility the city benefits from does not mean it gives a crap about the basketball program itself which is what this about. I'm not saying denton supports UNT basketball so I don't know why you even brought that up. You're acting like the city of Arlington just loves UTA and supports them like one would support their child when in reality they're just doing what makes the most business sense. Rick V wanted apogee to be privately funded. I'm sure if UNT had asked for city funding they would have worked something out.
  9. I agree with you on lots of topics but disagree with the above. Support of Arlington because the city helped pay for the arena does not mean the city necessarily supports the basketball program. I'm sure Arlington is able to use the arena as well and Arlington prides themselves on helping fund large structures that help add value to the city as a whole. Sure, it helps the UTA program, but Arlington's goal is to give big event organizers a reason to schedule events in Arlington to drive additional tourism. The city of Arlington would be nothing without it's hotels and restaurants. This is why they fought to hard to bring the cowboys to town and keep the rangers in town and have six flags and hurricane harbor. They want to be the entertainment hub of DFW. Long story short, there are selfish motives. The sport of the university... Well, it's the only major sport they have that really gets any attention. We can cut football if you want to add additional funds to basketball but I really don't think you would like that...
  10. Hopefully playing Highland Park have him an idea of the type of people he would be spending 4-5 years surrounded by. Not saying all kids from HP are bad, but having grown up in Preston Hollow and going to private school I'm all too familiar with the kids who end up going to SMU and I'm just not sure a kid who seems to be as humble as him would fit at SMU. Best of luck to him though if he chooses to go to SMU.
  11. You are correct...
  12. Saw on Twitter, he's already out training. Look at his twitter though, there are many other videos from today. He worked out 9:30 to 1:30.
  13. P5 coordinators going to g5 hc jobs isn't all that new although it does seem like it's happening way more now than before. We'll have to see how they recruit.
  14. This is a fair statement. I'm concerned but also trying to be patient since we were so bad in 2015. I hope this isn't their game plan every year though. If we eventually want to take that next step, we'll eventually need to start winning battles early for better recruits and keep those recruits instead of getting the best of what's leftover in January.
  15. This. Play clean on both sides of the ball. We have a hard enough time getting yardage at times, we don't need silly penalties (how many offensive PIs on a screen did we have the past few games?) holding us back when we do get positive yardage. Edit: I tried finding a few examples and maybe I'm getting my UNT and Cowboys games confused on the offensive pass interference on a screen penalty. Seems like UNTs issue has been more with holding...
  16. If so, this is bound to help with our international recruiting.
  17. Hire an up-and-coming Coordinator to be their next HC. It's worked for them pretty well over the past 10+ years dating back to Briles. Why stop now? This is the hire I expected.
  18. For Goree is that even an option financially? I think I saw a tweet from his saying he will be on scholarship at SFA so if he doesn't have the money to pay for school at UNT (assuming his scholarship was pulled when he was dismissed from the team) it just wouldn't make sense for him to risk earning his way back. Too much money on the table and he would be losing ncaa eligibility.
  19. Fair enough although I'm not sure he would be right for a rebuilding job. Oregon isn't a complete rebuild but they've been below average since Mariota left...
  20. This is a result of the coaching pool this year. The only big fish was Herman. You could argue that LSU could have done better than Orgeron but there's just nobody out there who shown some success in their careers as a HC other than Strong and his success was during a short period of time at Louisville. Baylor had a guy who's spent his entire life coaching on the east coast other than 1 year at UCLA several years ago if I'm not mistaken. Several headscratching hires this year but the pool is very limited.
  21. This is true. He showed promise early on. I really wonder if Littrell will replace our OC or hire another QB coach or both because it doesn't seem like Mason got better as the year went on. Where he struggled (such as deep balls) stayed bad and what he was decent at became bad. No progress though... Not his fault, we just need coaches that are constantly elevating his abilities.
  22. He has the toughness and a great head on his shoulders to do some good things here. With more talent in the receiving corps and O-line this year would have been much better for him but we can't let his "All C-USA freshman QB" accomplishment cloud our judgement with the QB position and think we have the guy. Time will tell but let's not throw out this accolade as any kind of indication of Littrell's recruiting abilities just yet.
  23. I think you're right but on the other hand Kiffin doesn't make much sense to me. He's not the up-and-coming coach. He's been a HC and USC got progressively worst under his leadership. Art Briles, Sumlin, Levine, and Herman had never been head coaches before UH and 3 of those 4 moved on to bigger programs. I'm just not sure Kiffin fits the bill and I don't understand why they would take a chance at a guy who's already shown he can't handle being a HC. For this very reason, I hope they hire Kiffin.
  24. THANK YOU! I was about to say the same. EDIT: I looked through all CUSA QB starters and none were freshman.
  25. I've seen plenty of reports today from ESPN and others saying they haven't offered a job yet and that UH is meeting soon to discuss the finances of their next hire. I'll believe it when it's official.
