The scary thing about signing recruits out of high school is you never know if they will transfer within the first year or two, have behavior issues and get dismissed, have eligibility issues and go juco, or just not pan out long term. Recruits are all gambles no matter what. Getting a player to stick around long enough to see the field is already a challenge. If coaches had your mindset, college sports wouldn't exist.

Hope he lights it up and proves every d1 coach wrong about his abilities.

I mean, New Mexico had a pretty decent year finishing 7-6 and played Arizona very well in the bowl game (lost 45-37). For anybody who didn't watch that game, they have a very explosive running game running some kind of option football with three athletes in a straight line behind the QB. Rushed for 42 TDs and almost 3300 yards last year. Honestly can't fault him for going there. They seem to be doing some good things and their QB was only a sophomore (ran in 3 TDs against Arizona and threw for another). Key win last year against Boise State too.

Thank you Billy. I definitely see your point that we just don't have a cusa level qb for 2017 and he might be one. Between him and fine, I'm confident we'll have a qb of the future if we land both. Personally, my favorite thing about both is that they can evade pressure and make some plays with their legs and they seem like very high character guys. Also both seem very smart and like leaders. Love that. You can tell our coaching staff is not just going to go after the best talent but also after the best overall athletes with great heads on their shoulders. These don't seem like the kind of guys who will easily give up.

He has an Indiana offer and a Virginia tech offer. Yes that's two. But I'm not counting the Indiana offer because it's from littrell so you take one away which leaves 1 legitimate non-littrell p5 offer. Good Lord... Had it not been repeatedly stated that the Indiana offer might not even be on the table anymore since littrell is not there anymore?

Are we putting too much stock in his 1 p5 offer or does he really look like an under the radar gem? And I say one because the Indiana offer came from littrell. Worries me that he doesn't have more attention and quite frankly is unrated by ESPN. I guess the real question is, other than size, is he any other better than fine for instance? Because he certainly isn't much more advertised and I feel like that's the feeling around here. Please feel free to make me look like a fool.

What they really should do is find a player who played a similar position. Brian waters would have made more sense in this case. Yes, older but had a great nfl career. Maybe put all the years he was a pro bowler. Johnny quinn makes no sense for this guy. For rbs, TEs, and WRs you have dunbar and olawale. On defense you get zo and Robertson and some others. Relate to their positions. And unless the player was a legend, nobody who player past 2000.

Wasn't Trevor Moore put on scholarship right out of high school a couple of years ago? My thought is that if he can be a legitimate punter AND kicker, he could be worth a scholarship right off the bat... 2 for 1, right? Saves a scholarship AND a roster spot.

I really don' see who we could have in mind. If kincade comes here, that gives us two p5 qb transfers for consecutive years so we aren't starting a red shirt freshman in 2017. Unless that RSF is a borderline 3/4 star qb or up I don't like it.

Yes this is what I mean. I mean anybody at any random program can do this. To assume this would or should have consequences on the recruiting of a football program is ridiculous as the stupid actions of one young man is not a reflection of an entire program of 80+ student athletes. I'm not trying to defend tcu but use your brain, people. Yes because Gary Patterson is teaching this behavior.

This can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime. TCU had a huge drug scandal back in 2010 or 2011 and that certainly didn't hinder recruiting so I don't see why this will.

I don't think he's as divided in the two as you seem to think, if he cared that much about baseball, I don't think he would have went to college. I mean, he was projected as a top baseball pick, wasn't he? What could going to college really do more for him if baseball was the route he wanted to go? I think if he and his dad had it their way, he would be playing qb in the NFL until he's in his 30s. He wants to be the star. Being a starting qb in the nfl is as big as it gets in this country - there's only 32 others with your job title. I think that's what he's trying to do.

what's important to remember is who the hire is in regards to the program. A few years ago we would have had no business making a strong hire like this. There were worst hires to make but not many better ones who would have come here. They graded Littrell a B but said in the first line its a great hire for a program lIke ours. In other words, don't be such a Debbie downer.

I guess it depends on how serious he is about baseball and/or how serious he is about getting an education. Interesting situation nonetheless.

That's what I thought Billy. So him going to TCU is not an irrational thought. Just trying to put that thought out there. So if he goes somewhere for baseball and football, how does that work in regards to eligibility? Can he play baseball right away for 3-4 years and then still have his year or two left of football after sitting out of football for 2 years?

Not that we would land him in our current state, but if we had a good baseball program, it would help land dual-sport athletes who also play baseball. Agree 100%. I'm just saying it's one of many example why it would help. What's the timeline of things? Does Kyler Murray have to sit out a year? Does he still have a redshirt year?

My guess is he goes to TCU. Perfect fit. This is where not having a baseball program really hurts us...

Nikola Stojilkovic is playing in France's lower divisions (N2 is most likely National 2, if it follows the soccer structure, the "National" division is division 3 so he would be in division 4 but I'm not sure). He's bounced around a bit but he's with WOSB (Wassellone Otterswiller Saverne Basket). He's number 10 in the photo for those who don't remember him.

Watch his Hudle Highlights - he most definitely does not have club hands. Probably jazz hands. Read in a few places that Texas was interested in him as a DB and Colorado State also offered as a RB. Better coaching from an ex-RB coach and ex-FB in Seth Littrell can probably help fix some of those things. He's only played football for a few years. Good to know that if he doesn't pan out as an RB, he could make in impact in the secondary.

The most important change in regards to this season's recruiting is for us to actually start having some official visits...

Really exciting stuff. Hopefully he'll keep the strong connections he made on the east coast and we can see some good recruits from that side of the land come over.
