  1. I just wanted to bring up that I tried going through the steps on my phone but when I tap on the THSCA link, nothing happens. It is probably just my phone but I thought I would bring it up for others to test so it can get fixed sooner rather than later if it indeed is a glitch. Great feature and congrats on getting it launched! Disclaimer: I am not a coach but wanted to navigate the pages to get a feel for the process. Thanks!
  2. http://www.acusports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4806 6foot 0 inches. 235 pounds.
  3. I just saw an add for SMU season tickets on this site. At the end of the day, you got to pay the bills.
  4. I'm not familiar with the condition but I hope it's not too serious (manageable).
  5. My worst was the UTSA loss in 2013. Being born and raised in TX, I don't do well with the cold. 35 degrees Fahrenheit or so. From historical data I've gathered, mean wind speed was just above 16 mph. Cold, dry, and windy. Could have been worst but I think the loss made it that much worst.
  6. Riley was officially on scholarship. If this player is a walk-on and receives a discount because his dad works for the school, I feel like that's different. It's not a scholarship but a perk the family gets from the father working for the school. If somebody knows this player's exact situation, I'm sure we can figure out if he counts but I doubt it.
  7. Crazy to see Dane Evans on that list. A huge miss for us as he went to high school 15 minutes north in Sanger. Most of those kids go to UNT or NCTC. Led them to some of their better high school teams in recent history
  8. If we can pick any conference I pick Pac 12. I love the academic standards associated with many of those schools and would like to be associated with the likes of Stanford, UCLA, and others. Plus with the amount of jucos in Arizona and California we got this past recruiting cycle it makes sense and would help keep that going.
  9. You win some, you lose some. UTSA also hired a great recruiter as a head coach and from a bigger, closer program in LSU. Our staff has recruited some really good prospects since they've been here as well.
  10. ESPN just released its first ever all-time poll. There are about 100 schools on the poll but North Texas is not on it instead including schools such as Villanova, Iowa Pre-Flight, William & Mary, Holy Cross, and Fordham. I wasn't here for most of UNT's football history but for those who have been following the program for decades, what are your thoughts? It looks like the program had success in the 60s and 70s... http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/17201971/ohio-state-buckeyes-oklahoma-sooners-notre-dame-fighting-irish-top-ap-all-top-25
  11. Something else to consider is that kids know if after a couple of seasons at a P5 they aren't getting the playing time they think they deserve they can transfer elsewhere, most often to a G5. On the flipside, I can imagine it's much more difficult to transfer from most G5 to most P5 (excluding upper G5 transfers to lower P5). Transfering these days is part of college sports. Going to a P5 first puts you in the best position regarding schools willing to take you in if you chose to transfer.
  12. Does that mean they are the runner up choice to us?
  13. Serious question. What do y'all think is more important to a footballrecruit? Graduating a high percentage of your football players with good grades and them having successfully post-grad careers, OR sending two or three players to the NFL each year? Obviously I think the best would be to do both but I'm just wondering hypothetically. It seems like high school athletes are more and more thinking about non-football adult lives than pro football adult lives. I've seen a lot of athletes talk about the importance of academics in their commitment choices.
  14. Mr. Emmitt, watching CNN last night I had the pleasure of hearing an African-American (i mention her race to emphasize the quality of the message in a time like this) lady speak to the world about how much the citizens of Dallas love their DPD. She spoke about how she and her kids feel safe around our officers, how amazing the love was between everybody during the protest, how you can be walking down the street and be greeted by a random member of our DPD, and how our DPD protected them all when this happened. She told the world how amazing our DPD is to all of Dallas and are not discriminatory. I mention this because I think it's important for you to know that you are backed by all of Dallas, not just a small portion of our community. My brother is a member of DPD and one of his friend's lost his partner of three years at the hands of the shooter. My grandfather too was an officer for over 20 years. We love you all and value all of you. Dallas police has the lowest amount of officer involved shootings out of any major city in the country. No police department deserved this, but it just sickens me even more knowing we lost amazing officers who have nothing to do with what's going on around the country. Sorry for the long message. I support our men and women in Blue.
  15. SMU, La Tech, UTSA have offered per 247. http://247sports.com/Player/Tanner-McCalister-84058
  16. Before Katenda stepped foot on the court in a mean green jersey everybody on this board questioned why we recruited a partially blind player and now he is so good that we can't possibly have a replacement for him on our current roster? Big fan of Katenda as I usually support french athletes since I am french myself but give the Temara kid a chance...
  17. I see. Understood and I agrre!
  18. You left off texas with 7, tcu with 8, a&m I think has 13. Point is, it's great for all of the mentioned schools to be doing great on the recruiting trail but it's too early to look at class size as an indication of recruiting success. Other than UH, most will not make a bowl. We've been adding really good late 2016 recruits so it's not like the staff is doing nothing. They just want to win now to attract better hs recruits. I'm not worried.
  19. It's poor journalism.
  20. It's a necessary move from the coaching staff. Plus it he becomes a hit and choses to come here it works out in our favor. If he comes here regardless of whether or not he's a hit, it might open up a pipeline to other liberty prospects. If he does come here though and does become a big prospect, can we be found guilty of anything illegal regarding recruiting since his grandfather donates to the athletic department and school?
  21. It might be a result of higher standards to qualify. It's a nationally accredited program and, as of a couple years ago, the only such program in Texas. That alone calls for higher standards.
  22. I think this speaks more to Dillman and Chumley's characters than anything else. The goal is probably to give chumley a fair shot and if it doesn't work out, give him the opportunity to change positions or stay burried on the depth chart. Dillman doesn't need to be the star he just wants to play.
  23. Had we just made one free throw with 20 seconds left...
  24. I think their egos will make this happen as well but if the reasoning is that they think Morris has them on the upswing and they lose to us this year, those plans might be postponed a bit. If they lose to UNT on year two of the Morris era they are looking at another 2-10 season and Morris is on the hot seat heading into year 3. More important things at that point than canceling the series.
