  1. I'm sure he'll be there next Saturday.
  2. We'll find out in two weeks if Rice is just that bad or if Army (and western Kentucky) is just really good. Until then, just another thrashing of Rice.
  3. 5 minutes into the game and Louisville is up 21-0 on Syracuse. Houston plays Louisville this year so that should be fun to watch.
  4. Only because I read an article in the Orlando newspaper about their qb, I'm saying they are in Orlando or a suburb of Orlando.
  5. If we are up big, early (mid second), I hope we see Fine. Assuming we are still up big early fourth quarter, I want to see O'hara and/or Shanbour. No point in risking injury to Fine at that point and it would be nice to know what we have with the other two in case Morris gets hurt and one has to backup Fine.
  6. Completely agree with the expect to win always mentality. I'm not happy we lost to SMU. I don't care if it's only been one game and that he might be rusty, Morris was disappointing. We made some bad defensive mistakes and I can't help but think about the play where their RB broke a long run only to cramp up (my stream froze but that's what I'm told happened). The score should have been worst. We didn't play well. We also didn't give up. This is a young coaching staff with good experience. I'm optimistic they will get this roster playing up to their potential by the end of the year. I just don't want us to look at what other new coaches are doing at other schools and say we should be doing the same. Our situation had to be the worst in colleges football to inherit. Be demanding but patient. Expect the best while being understanding when that's not what you get. I'm excited for Saturday. GMG
  7. I'm getting pretty tired of seeing posts like this. Texas state upset Ohio. We didn't upset SMU. It's not a big deal (for now). Let's let the season play out. I'm not saying this to justify us losing to SMU but I think they're a bowl team this year not because they have improved a bunch (Although they do have some very nice pieces in place) but I think they have enough stars to get them to 6 wins and other than Houston, the conference is pretty open this year. Memphis lost Paxton Lynch and Temple has already lost incidicating they might have fallen off a bit considering their strong start last year. Back to last year's SMU schedule, they played 7 8+ win teams, at least 3 of which won 10+ games (not sure about TCU and Baylor). Their 2-10 is hard to judge when you consider their schedule overall. Ohio went bowling last year but they're schedule was significantly easier than SMU's with their toughest opponent being Minnesota. Let's not look at these two games with much significance just yet. Let the season play out (and even a few years) before judging who made the better hire. McCarney looked like a great hire on the field through 2013. Hindsight says otherwise. Thanks in advance for the downvotes.
  8. We're all counting you. Despite the loss to SMU, we need to remember a few things: 1) this team has fight (so far). 2) although we all dislike SMU, they might not be as bad a football team as we think. They've got some good skill players and Sutton is special. 3) they are a year ahead in rebuilding 4) they've had really solid recruiting classes the past two years. Ben Hicks, who threw the 88 yard TD pass was a four star QB per ESPN in 2015. It's too early to view this game as an indication of a terrible year.
  9. 4-8 at best. I thought we would beat SMU. Still think we beat BC, Rice, UTSA, and maybe Florida (just kidding!). But there's another win out there. My only hesitance with us beating Rice, UTSA, and UTEP is they are all away games and we all know how we play away from our home field (not well). Another issue with Rice is playing them the week after Florida. How banged up will our guys be? They play Baylor the week before so I'm not sure if that's any better. I guess we'll see...
  10. Looked pretty good although garbage time play.
  11. Heard that. The stadium looks pretty empty. Scratch that, looks to be filling up a bit on the last view I saw.
  12. Up and running for me!
  13. UVA getting beat pretty bad by FCS Richmond.
  14. I am too...
  15. Louisiana Lafayette getting destroyed by Boise st at home 35-3 at half.
  16. And released a 2015 5th round pick from Carrollton: Ryan Russell. Back to Akunne, with his hit on Goff I think he'll garner some interest from other teams. Other than that game he still had a strong preseason.
  17. Louisville 56 - 0 Charlotte at half time.
  18. App St. Playing great. Converted on a 4th and 1. 7-3 in the second quarter and into volunteer territory. Converted on 3rd and 3 as I type this. Edit: td app st
  19. I think the games being televised/streamed have nothing to do with the C-USA teams. Those games are to stream/televise P5 programs (Louisville, Indiana, Arkansas, Kentucky). The only game being televised that has no P5s is Rice and Western Kentucky. Not a good ratio of C-USA games being televised.
  20. The only games not being streamed or televised on this screenshot have a C-USA team playing in it. I don't think it's so much about UNT vs SMU as it is a C-USA issue.
  21. No doubt you know more about it than I do. Regardless he's in a good positioned to play on year as a graduate student. Future indeed does look bright. Best of luck to him!
  22. Should get a medical red shirt though... If he graduates in 4 years he would have 2 years of eligibility left. Could get a graduate degree for free if he is able to continue playing and is accepted into a graduate program. Bright spot to look at.
  23. No offer means not even trying in my opinion. At least it sounds like he went where he wanted to be. I like to think the athletes aren't all like the general student population. After all, they are there for sports and not for the image/social life associated with spending 60k per year for school.
  24. Per recruiting sites espn and 247, his only offer was SMU. He was rated a 3 star by espn and borderline 2/3 star by 247. I'm fairly new to college sports (started following when I got to UNT in 2011) and was hoping I could get a better understand why a kid like this wouldn't get an offer by UNT. Decent sized high school, well regarded by recruiting services, local, and no UNT offer. I know you can't offer everybody but is this just a miss by the previous staff? I know SMU isn't any better than us but still...
