  1. Thanks for your post. There's obviously certain elements, such as how severe the weather might actually be during a game, that is lost through TV.
  2. I was also going to bring up the fumbled snap. Also, the pick 6, although a great play by Jenkins, is more so just a lucky play. The receiver is 6 foot 5 so for the qb to throw the ball that high on a short pass like that is crazy. Even if the wr had come down with it, chances are it would have been a short gain. The Gray interception was clearly overthrown. Regardless, they made plays and even though two fumbles were overturned, their hard play was rewarded with Army making mistakes. Gotta give credit to the offense though. Everybody here knew if we could force Army into passing, we could force some turnovers. That's exactly what happened and three of their interceptions were because they were trying to play catch-up. The offense made some plays when needed although don't discount luck there either. The long throw to Willie Robinson could easily have been picked off and there was another that's I'm blanking on where the DB tried jumping the route and just didn't get to it. Could have easily been a pick 6. I worry that had this game not been played in the rain, the outcome may have been different...
  3. I understand that Troy is no Florida, but Troy has churned out good D Linemen. Demarcus Ware and Osi Umenyiora both played there in the early 2000s, Ware being drafted in '05. They also had a DE drafted in 2010 who played for them in 06-09 named Cameron Sheffield. I know it's not the same, but they had some good defensive talent back then. Edit: looked more into it, they also had 4 DBs picked in rounds 1, 2, 4, and 6 in the NFL draft from 2007 to 2010.
  4. Look up the full rankings 1-128 for college football. Campus Insiders has us still at 99 while Army still at 72. We didn't budge at all in their rankings either and they have have our updated records listed so the rankings were definitely made after Saturday. My guess is people view our win against Army as a fluke due to the fumbles which is uncharastic of Army. Due to our reputation, it's going to take more than a win against Army to move up in rankings.
  5. This couldn't be more true. They kept saying we ran the exact offense Leach ran at Tech. We don't. A Leach offense would never finish with under 20 passing attempts....
  6. Can't believe you basically predicted the exact score of the game...
  7. I think you can say the same for our receiving corps though. They're going to have to be physical. I like the corners we have and I don't think it's worth the risk of having Buyers play a position he hasn't played since, what, 2014? I say keep him where he's at.
  8. Nice article on Zo with a UNT mention. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-tied-for-12th-in-nfl-in-tackles-ravens-linebacker-zachary-orr-starting-to-make-name-for-himself-20161020-story.html Nice quote here: "Coach John Harbaugh said people will soon learn about Orr, who is tied for 12th in the NFL in tackles and tied for first in fumble recoveries. “I told him the other day he’s making a name for himself in this league,” Harbaugh said. “Everybody is watching the tape, and they know who [No.] 54 is for the Ravens right now. That’s what you hope for guys. He’s really come through.”" Keep it going, Zo!
  9. To tag on to Video Eagles post, starting the year with an FCS school provides a relatively low risk opportunity to get yourself going and identify any weaknesses early on so you can address those weaknesses as best as possible prior to facing tougher opponents.
  10. Fair enough. I have heard amazing things about Boulder and Colorado itself is beautiful. We should be able to offer the quickest of playing time ETAs around... Littrell and co. will start the best men we have.
  11. Needs to visit with multiple of those DeSoto kids. If he and Zo can make a trip down there, that would be great!
  12. Question: How does Colorado manage to get both of DeSoto's top WRs and one of their Guards? http://247sports.com/player/xavier-newman-88677 http://247sports.com/player/laviska-shenault-85906 http://247sports.com/player/kd-nixon-64429 Matter of fact, check out Colorado's commitment list. Two commits from Denton, one from Allen, one from Cedar Hill. Most of their top commits are from Texas. Hopefully one day we can start keeping these types of guys home... Like this offer though! Emmet Perry, come to Denton!
  13. Thank you!
  14. Per The Weather Network via MSN: http://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/signs-of-snow-after-heavy-rain-for-parts-of-the-northeast/ar-AAj6z97?li=BBnbfcL&ocid=mailsignout The snow is more for very select areas on Sunday, but it should rain without a doubt...
  15. This article mentions this week's depth chart being released. Is this public info? Anybody know where we can get this? Thanks.
  16. Was just about to write this. It's no different than googling travel and then seeing travel adds all over Facebook or other sites. Google takes into account everything you search when displaying ads.
  17. Recent super bowl winners haven't won because of some top notch WR though. Other than Demaryus Thomas last year, here are the top paid WRs on the past several SB winners: '14 Amendola; '13 Sidney Rice; '12 Anquand Boldin; '11 Hakeem Nicks; '10 Donald Driver; 'Marques Colston. Before that you have Hines Ward a few times, Marvin Harrison once, and some other good WRs. None of these guys are slouches but the highest paid WR there is Sidney Rice at $9.7 million. Then it's Anquand Boldin at $7.5. Dez's average salary over the life of his contract is $14 million. The key is all of those teams had good defenses and very well rounded receiving corps. We have a great receiving corps for now but eventually our guys will want to go elsewhere to make more money and it'll just be Dez filling up the cap space unless the 'Boys can draft better.
  18. Locksley moved to WR when Bueschel locked up the starting job. What he's really ticked off about is the lack of play even at WR. He tweeted after the spring game (paraphrasing) that he should have just told his mom to stay home and save the money from the trip because he didn't play at all in the spring game. He's ticked and rightfully so. Hopefully he gets a clean start elsewhere.
  19. He's from Maryland. Doubt he would stay in Texas to come to UNT when he was a 4 star dt qb out of high school.
  20. This was my thought as well. Don't really see why you would him from Center. 247 has him as the number 15 center in the country. You don't move a guy like that unless you have to or if Dakoda Newman just blows every body away leading up to football season. I don't believe next year's Center is currently on the roster and I think Donovan is to start as a true freshman while this kid red shirts.
  21. What about Josh Donovan?
  22. We have offered a 6'2" DT from bEAST Texas. http://247sports.com/player/terrell-cooper-93545 Per 247, offers from Memphis, Arkansas State, Texas State, and SFA. @Ball_Is_4Life's Tweet: He has his Memphis offer pinned. Hope we can snag him. Listed weight is 240 though... Maybe projected at DE? Edit scout has him as DE http://www.scout.com/player/209839-terrell-cooper?year=2016
  23. I would never think to look in the forum guidelines for this info. That's just from somebody new. I did email the staff. I trust their judgement (and it's not like my input matters anyways) but I just want to make sure no stone goes unturned.
  24. Freeing up the salary cap would be amazing to sign Martin and either Leary or Collins to long term deals in addition to signing some defensive players to long term deals such as Byron Jones in a couple of years...
  25. Kade Warner, Kurt Warner's son, is the new Arizona state record holder for career receptions (http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/thankful-kade-warner-kurt-warner’s-son-sets-arizona-state-record-for-receptions/ar-AAj3Mbe?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=mailsignout) for any level of football. Per that article, his only offer is from San Diego so he's been fairly under-recruited so far. Any reason why we wouldn't want somebody like this? Good size (6 foot 2) and comes from football pedigree. Doesn't look like he has tremendous speed but looks like a playmaker whether its YAC or catching deep balls. Scout seems to view him as a good talent out of Arizona. http://247sports.com/Player/Kade-Warner-58536 http://www.scout.com/player/197699-kade-warner http://www.scout.com/high-school/arizona/story/1697295-arizona-s-top-wrs http://www.scout.com/high-school/arizona/story/1696748-2016-preseason-all-24-7football-com-team
