  1. Yeah I know... Don't know what happened today.
  2. Said the competitive fire, size, story, and ability to evade pressure and extend plays is what makes him like Baker Mayfield. They said what Mason is missing is a great cast of playmakers who can consistently get open on those scrambles to allow Mason to complete a pass instead of constantly just having to throw the ball away.
  3. Didn't misspell anything. If UNT doesn't make a bowl game and that stat remains the way it was (or he just doesn't $**t the bed), he gets looks as an UDFA with a good pro day. But hey, easy to post these comments AFTER a bad performance.
  4. Is Jason Garrett a great coach? Or does the ball just bounce your way sometimes. Past 2 seasons we've seen it catch up to the Texas Rangers, Oakland Raiders, and Dallas Cowboys. We'll find out next year if UNT was a good team that performed poorly more often than not or if they over achieved and won more close games than is common.
  5. We won't win as many of those close games next year if that's who we are. Time will tell but like the we've seen with the Raiders and the Cowboys from last year to this year, the law of averages will take over. That is, unless we get a drastic make over on our o and d lines.
  6. Guess I spoke too soon... Sorry, guys.
  7. If anybody on this team has the strength and mental fortitude to power through and make it the hard way, it's him. He's really a guy we should all be proud to have represent UNT. If he gets a chance the UDFA route, he'll be hard to get rid of for any team.
  8. Was hoping Ryan could get revenge for last year. Guess Martin will get to knock off SMU high school. Hopefully he gets to take on SMU as our qb in a few years too.
  9. I've been pleased with him these past two seasons. He's been tested by our coaches and opposing teams and regularly answered with standout performances. Teams seem to have caught on pretty quickly both seasons that throwing his way won't end up going too well.
  10. Sorry if the title appears to be click bait. I'm trying to change it to something else but can't figure out how.
  11. Interesting statistic... I'm wondering what his actual stock is amongst NFL teams and if he'll get a chance at the next level. Would certainly add to his already amazing story. He had a very strong year last season too so he's certainly shown consistent production...
  12. And the WR from Western Michigan last year.... (Name escapes me but went 5th overall)
  13. CBS Sports published a mock draft today. The only G5 players they have projected in round 1 are Courtland Sutton (WR, SMU, 5th overall to the Broncos), Marcus Davenport (DE, UTSA, 25th overall to the Titans), and Will Hernandez (OG, UTEP, 29th overall to the Vikings). Interesting to see 2 CUSA guys go in the first round. Hopefully we see a UNT player here in the next few years. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2018-nfl-mock-draft-bengals-select-qb-baker-mayfield-to-replace-andy-dalton/amp/ 5. Denver Broncos Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU. Whether it be Tyrod Taylor, Kirk Cousins, Andrew Luck or Eli Manning, I'm still betting on John Elway adding a veteran quarterback this offseason. Therefore, Sutton would be a logical selection to improve the environment around said veteran quarterback. He's a large, jump-ball wideout with nice wiggle in space. 25. Tennessee Titans Marcus Davenport, DE, Texas-San Antonio. Davenport has everything you'd want in a three-down defensive lineman. Length, explosiveness, pass-rush moves, power, bend, and a non-stop motor. He may need to gain some weight to hold up better against the run, but the Titans would love to pair him with Brian Orakpo on their defense. 29. Minnesota Vikings Will Hernandez, OG, UTEP. The Vikings roster is loaded. It just needs some interior reinforcement along the offensive line. Hernandez has dominated at UTEP at left guard and has NFL size.
  14. Most of our students live in DFW so HoD was convenient AND cheap. You're asking kids to go to new Orleans when most of them aren't old enough to enjoy the bar scene and the trip is only for one night and a direct trip back after the game. Those that are old enough to enjoy what NO has to offer will be graduating or attending their close friend's graduations. Some here tried warning the date and opponent would not attract the crowd most of you think it would attract but that was shot down. I for one can't go. Could have made it to HoD or a local week day bowl easily.
  15. Maybe they can at least give them the night off after the game?
  16. My thoughts as well. Was.merely pointing out that we should be able to compete against the other offers for him if we were to begin recruiting him.
  17. Per 247, this guy's only offers are from Sam Houston State and Texas State https://247sports.com/Player/Marquise-Conchola-86696. We should have a decent chance at him even now, no? I agree with the others though.
  18. I just don't see: -WKU losing to Georgia State -MTSU (Stockstill missed weeks 3 through 9 but has 14 TD passes in 6 games including 3 in a W against Syracuse and 30+ points in every game since he's been back) losing to Ark State - FAU losing to Akron - UAB losing to Ohio I think there's solid 4 Ws and that UNT (vs Troy), Marshall (vs Colorado State, Herd struggled late in the yeat but hopefully can regroup leading up to the bowl), La Tech (vs SMU), and FIU (vs Temple) all have very good chances of winning. Should be a good bowl season and I think we will have a good showing. We're just getting no respect. And let's no forget USM has been a giant killer before and FSU has vastly underperformed this year.
  19. I see 5-7 wins. Would be good for SMU to lose. It's critical we as a conference have a strong showing. I'll be a fan of every CUSA team for their bowl games.
  20. All these rankings are making me feel a bit better... If we end up beating them, maybe it'll help improve the national perception amongst the media which will help us gain some more positive attention going into off-season and into next year. Seems like there is hope after all.
  21. My issue with people saying "do you really believe UCF can compete with Clemson or these other teams" is that some of these top 10 P5 teams with even just 1 loss have really bad 1 losses. Clemson lost to Syracuse (yes, I understand Clemon's qb was hurt), Miami lost to Pitt and had they beat Clemson in the ACC championship would be in the playoffs, Ohio State got smoked by Iowa, TCU and OU both lost to Iowa State who is hard to read, and I could go on. UCF could definitely best Syracuse, Iowa State, Pitt, and Iowa so if those teams are good enough to beat these playoff contenders, UCF has a shot just like Houston had a shot the past 2 years. At least give the top G5 a shot. After all, that is why they play the game.
  22. But how many people know he went to Troy...
  23. Wow I spoke too soon. Assuming no last second changes, I'll take troy over Arkansas state only because of the year they've had.
  24. Troy by far. Didn't like the matchup to begin with but today just gets worst and worst for us to end the season. Still a great year but wow...
  25. For the above post, it's an honest question.
