  1. I'm just trying to figure out how we keep getting contact driving to the basket but not getting the fouls.
  2. SFA had some really successful teams recently pulling off several upsets in the NCAA tourney all while playing small ball. Same with Middle Tennessee a couple years ago. I don't care if we play big or small as long as we win.
  3. I never realized how big Wilson looks. Definitely looks like an NFL back.
  4. Smart when he comes back?
  5. Full Game Video FAU Did I win?
  6. How? The only bowl game in Dallas is on the 26th.
  7. I don't think we win the game without Quinn going in there but I'm also not sure we win if Quinn stays in. His last drive wasn't nearly as promising as the first 2 once they got behind the chains and Quinn had to throw. Quinn stays in and I'm not sure Torrey gets the long TD run especially not on our 8 with no passing element.
  8. Doesn't matter. Should have been victory formation up by 20. I always say if the game comes down to one play, you probably didn't deserve to win.
  9. 2 years ago 14-16. Missed last year.
  10. Critical game considering the average out of conference schedule. Hawaii went to the second round of the NCAA tourney in 2016. Finished just below .500 last season. A win today would still be a quality win in my opinion.
  11. Not going to lie, I've watched and followed UNT closely since freshman year of college. It wasn't always pretty but I'm also a Cowboys fan so I'm used to disappointment. After the UAB game this year I lost interest. I'm fine with a watching a team build for the future but not going to watch bad coaching and play calling. I might not watch another game this year. I'm expecting some big coaching changes this off-season although I'm not against keeping SL. I think if we want to keep momentum we need some coaching changes.
  12. Would be the same as getting Dan Mac in my opinion. Boring offense and old. Plus he never could find a quarterback at LSU which is one of the biggest programs in the country. My only intrigue would be whether he would create enough buzz to attract enough size and talent to make up for his boring offense. If somehow Les Miles could bring an SEC caliber defense, offensive line, and TBs to C-USA then who cares what the offense is. We would punish every team in the conference. Question: would his name alone buy us a few spots in rankings and possibly get us more top 25 votes?
  13. I've brought this up earlier this season in another thread. If we're going to lose him it needs to be this year with our core of leaders including Fine returning for their senior years. If not it needs to be in 2 years after SL would will have had the chance to establish new leaders but more importantly our new QB. The last thing we should want is to lose SL the same year we lose Fine, Bussey, Guyton, and others. Would be tough to have a new coach come in and have to figure out what he has at some key positions. A clean slate works after you've been struggling but this would be about maintaining momentum so I think it would be important for a new coach to come in with guys who have game experience. That said, I would rather lose SL this year than in 2 years because it would give a new coach Fine to work with and then he could put in his QB the year after. Edit: Obviously I would rather lose him in 5 years at least to keep building if he's going to be here a little while. For me it's almost leave after this year or stay for a bit but don't leave and put us in a bad spot. Also good points about bringing in an experienced coach to take this thing to the next level. With Wren being in charge of this thing I'm comfortable with us parting ways now as opposed to letting SL control the immediate future of the program.
  14. Almost seems too good of a comment to be true.
  15. But corporate sponsors bought those seats, not the bowl game organizers. Like @KRAM1 said, there would need to be communication to get the "Ok." Otherwise, I don't think it's appropriate. If you were say, the chief of a police department, and a private entity donated money for new body cameras even though you had plenty and they were fine so you instead decided the funds should be used for new winter jackets, that private entity might be upset even though the money still went to an area of need. The city manager or whoever else might expect you to discuss it with the donors first instead of doing it on your own without talking to them about it.
  16. That's fair. I'm just not one to take advantage of generosity. My understanding is that corporate sponsors donate money to the bowl to cover the costs of the first responder tickets. If I were a corporate sponsor donating to first responders I would be upset to find out my donations are going to college students. Simply my opinion.
  17. @emmitt01 Don't we need to show ID to get in with a first responder ticket?
  18. You're probably right. I guess we'll see if anybody pulls the trigger.
  19. I never knew a first time head coach in his 3rd year could have such high expectations. If somebody told you after Portland state we would be where we are today so soon after going 1-11 You have never believed them. Now we're saying the head coach responsible for that turn around has no place at the big boy table. Amazing. Give SL another year or two to grow and he'll be there.
  20. Pure opinion but i think to build up the perception of a conference you need 2-3 really strong consistent 10 win teams and for those ten win teams to win some big bowl games. The Mountain West started with Boise State and TCU in the mid-2000s really taking off and that's what has kept the Mountain West looking good despite Boise State dropping off a bit. The AAC has followed with UCF and Blake Bottles a few years ago and now still mostly UCF. Those conferences are still riding the major successes that just a few programs sustained over the course of 2-3 seasons. If C-USA could get 2 or 3 teams to win 10 games straight over the course of 2-3 years with big bowl games the perception of the entire conference would be elevated.
  21. College kids should not be playing fully developed 24-25 year old men. Their number 2 DL who caused the safety is 24. I'm 25 and have been out of college for 4 years. The advantage regarding physical development is ridiculous. When it's 1 player due to specific reasons I'm fine with it but UAB was allowed to build a team of grown men and it's not right.
  22. I'm disappointed that a UNT fan would feel this way. Football or not, he's got a long road to recovery that could potentially impact him long term.
  23. Kind of weird to think that a bunch of 23-25 year old college football players are excited about playing against 18-21 year old college football players. Maybe it's their way of remembering they were never the talented 3-4 star P5 recruits they thought they were and are still playing in college when the really special players have made it to the pros by their age.
  24. You can't really be comparing snow in Boise with tornado warnings and thunder storms causing weather delays. Snow will never cause attendance to go down in places like Boise, Green Bay, or Denver. It's what they live with their like us with 100 degree weather in the early games of the season. Give then tornado warnings and thunder storms and watch that attendance dip.
  25. There's two sets of projections. The other as us at the Cotton Bowl vs Arizona State. I like that one better.
