  1. Problem is Gordon was going to get every opportunity to fix it as a high draft pick. Wilson won't have that luxury as an UDFA. He needs to finish the year strong.
  2. I just woke up (work midnight to 8 am and needed to get my sleep in). Anybody care to recap what happened to Fine?
  3. I will be 100% satisfied if the G5 gets 1 guaranteed spot. Why? Because it means every year the G5 gets at least 1 opportunity to disrupt the P5 party. Boise State, TCU (pre Big 12), UCF... There are championship worthy G5 teams every year. It's just about getting invited to the show. Get a guaranteed spot, regularly beat some P5 ass, and make up ground. It's about baby steps and it's quite frankly one of the best opportunities to make some noise due to it being the biggest stage. UCF would have caused problems last year and, were there an 8 team playoff this year, would be flat out better than every P5 team in the playoff except for Alabama. OU and Clemson would be tough matchups and I think they would beat Notre Dame. Baby steps.
  4. Not sure he's going to th NFL for anything less than QB unless he just doesn't want to play in the minors waiting to get called up to MLB.
  5. https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/athletics/mlb-rumors-kyler-murrays-contract-has-provision-if-he-chooses-nfl He would have to repay part of his guaranteed money and be done with it. If he's serious about the NFL and GMs are saying he'll go in the 1st round he might do it.
  6. Rumor is he prefers football and would rather go to the NFL as a QB. The game against Alabama will go a long way to determining what he does IMO.
  7. I don't give a rats was if the SEC gets 7 spots as long qs the G5 gets an automatic qualifier and it needs to be a spot seeded in the top 6 since along with the P5 conference champs.
  8. Honestly made me wonder if he's saying that just to to gain support for the idea of an 8 team playoff. I really don't care about the motive if it happens. An automatic bid for the highest ranked G5 would be great. Edit: support for an 8 team playoff because at this point every president and AD at a school not in the SEC and not one of the traditional blue bloods should want to expand the playoff. The "smaller" P5 schools are still getting shafted from a competition standpoint.
  9. We need Kyler Murray to go pro this year and have a good rookie year. People say he's 5 foot 8 so if he can do find early success, it might pave the way for Fine.
  10. Article states the ball could get rolling on this as soon as January 7th and that several people involved want this implemented soon. I want to applaud West Virginia president for recognizing the committee's arrogance regarding UCF and the G5. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2810445-college-footballs-influential-voices-ready-to-discuss-8-team-playoff-format.amp.html "An eight-team CFP could include automatic bids for the Power Five conference champions, as well as three at-large bids, with one of those potentially guaranteed to a Group of Five school like UCF. West Virginia president E. Gordon Gee told The Athletic he doesn't think college football should wait for the ESPN contract to expire before making alterations to the system. "I also want to be very clear: I think that there's arrogance of us not taking a look at someone like the University of Central Florida, just saying, 'Well, they're not worthy of it,'" Gee said. "Maybe they are worthy of it based upon a number of considerations that need to be taken into account.""
  11. This really ticks me off. CUSA has had upsets every year since 2015. 4 years in a row, our solo rep has had an upset win round 1 inclusing MTSU upsetting number 2 Michigan State in 2016. They need to this like FIFA does the World Cup. The success of each continent in a given world cup can help sway how many slots each continent gets in the next world cup since it's included in their measure of relative strength. It's all based on metrics. If C-USA is getting at least an upset per tournament, not only do they deserve more reps per tournament but also better seeding. Dock the conferences who put 5 teams in the tournament with only 1 going past the 2nd round in the tournament.
  12. Who do get to upset?
  13. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/25503179/kansas-state-hires-north-dakota-state-chris-klieman-head-coach $2.3 million a year with $200k yearly raises. Sure sounds like the unlimited resources all their fans were singing about. This is the hire I expected from the beginning. Will be interesting to see how he pans out. I'm honestly surprised by the low salary compared to p5 salaries.
  14. Sounds like he meets UAB's age requirements.
  15. I can see it already... College kid- "Hey, why is your dad always at our college parties?" Son- "He's just reliving is glory years." College kid- "Ok but he's taking your girlfriend upstairs." Son- "I'm calling my mom."
  16. Sounds like you we're mostly on farmersonly.com.
  17. He does it for the kids.
  18. I'm reporting on gomeangreen.com that Littrell is rumored to be playing Santa at the galleria of Dallas this evening so he can't be in Manhattan.
  19. Depends on who they beat but looking at their schedule next year you might be right. Problem is looking at their results this year, they could have easily finished with 8-9 wins. They lost to TCU by 1, Texas by 5, Iowa State by 4, and Baylor by 3. They were mostly competitive save for OU, West Virginia, and Mississippi State. If I'm OU's AD looking to hire the next sooner coach, a 2-3 win improvement may not be enough to open up the pocket book especially if there's more blowouts than the previous year. Now go 8-4, 9-4 with a bowl win, and wins over at least three of OU, Texas, Okie State, West Virginia, Mississippi State and that might be enough. Record isn't everything. Gotta beat the big guys. Regarding 11-1 or 12-0 UNT next year, if he can't do that with the talent coming back on offense and the young guys coming up in a weak CUSA losing Stockstill after 12 years and UAB's middle aged starters he might never go to OU.
  20. Which is why Kansas State makes no sense to me. Programs like OU don't hire a new coach every 3 years. Riley isn't gone yet and not every college coach wants to coach in the NFL, they're two completely different beasts. If Riley does leave, it might be SL's only shot at the job in a long time. He's better off making a run at a NY6 bowl with UNT using what he's built here than trying to have 1 strong season building KSU from scratch with a depleted roster if he wants a chance at the OU job in a year or two. If/when the OU job gets filled with somebody else, SL would probably leave for the next P5 spot that opens up since he wouldn't have to worry about OU opening up any time soon.
  21. Don't compare that guy to Les Miles. Miles is one of the more prominent ccollege hadcoaches of the past 15 years and got his ring as a HC.
  22. "12. FIU (38) – There was a single NCAA tournament appearance in 1995... Where they win: “Beautiful campus, great location and a ton of hot girls.” – C-USA assistant" The Knock: creepy 30-40 year old assistant coaches constantly trying to steal your girlfriends. Also, hard to throw a big party when the 30 year old assistant coaches show up trying to hit on the college girls. - die hard UNT fan.
  23. Most of our recruits had little to no P5 interest. Highly rated for G5, yes. Big 12 recruits, no. You can keep saying they're Big 12 caliber recruits but that won't make Big 12 programs offer them schollys. If SL plans on raiding our recruiting class to compete with OU, Texas, TCU, West Virginia, Okie State then good luck to him.
