Was about to post this. Boy is Navy good
-
I noticed the same. It's a shame because they've had some good runs lately. Another AAC game going on is Temple vs Utah State. Utah State up 21-14 at the half.
-
Maybe James Madison is also paying UNC? I don't know. 53-21 at the half after a pick 6. Other updates: Rice 7 - Army 30 (safety to start the second half) Tulane 24 - ULL 19 Guess I'll add Houston 0 - Cincinnati 31. Not a call for Cougar guy. Just a score I noticed.
-
James Madison 46 - 21 North Carolina. James Madison just got a pick on North Carolina. The Dukes are up 46-21 with 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter at 3-0 UNC. Rice 0 - 28 Army at the half. Yikes. Tulane 17 - 10 Louisiana Lafayette. Haven't figured out Tulane yet. They've played well but seem to play to the level of their opponents.

You got me. I'm in. The best cannon money can buy. That's for sure why they're going to the PAC.
-
And this is bad why???
-
What does UTSA bring?
-
That's not what I asked though. If UTSA gets the nod, why would Texas State also get the nod? They seem to be lumped in together as both going. Makes no sense when they cover the same geographic area. So, if you need 4 schools and do Tulane, Memphis, UTSA, who's the fourth?

Better facilities than who?

UTSA and Traylor likely heading to Pac12

You're not seeing the big picture. Whether we move or not, things will change. A lot of AAC schools close by? If UTSA, Tulane, and Memphis leave, who's left? Tulsa and Rice. Now how many AAC schools are close by? That's it. Two schools. So what are the options: join 3 of the close AAC schools in the PAC or stay with 2 of the close AAC schools in the AAC. My choice is easy. Seems we'll be left in the wind though. More visibility? I guess. Nobody is watching us as is. More money will allow us to keep developing the football program or maybe even start the baseball program to join an Oregon State baseball program who's made all but 3 NCAA tournaments since 2005. -
Sure but to say they won't be "in shape" to play this year is a stretch in my opinion. It's a long season with some bye weeks. Guess we'll see how things play out.

🔥🔥🔥Official UNT vs Texas Tech IN-GAME DISCUSSION🚨🚨🚨

I don't get the Texas State love if UTSA gets the nod. Why go after two schools basically in the same market? I can understand one or the other but both makes no sense for one conference if you're trying to expand your media footprint. Highly doubt they're both in play together.
-
I do recall seeing a post suggesting something similar a few weeks ago. It's a good idea. Costs basically nothing and your target audience is right there.
-
Good call. Missed that one.

Fun little post for some lighter chatter. I find it funny 4 MWC teams apparently hate Fresno State yet Fresno State claims no rivals.

UTSA and Traylor likely heading to Pac12

Yea, traveling to New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, south Florida twice, and North Carolina twice is so much easier. And where else have we traveled lately for non-conference basketball games? The Bahamas, Boise, New York, Massachusetts, and wherever in California St Mary's plays? And where do we play on the road in a few years? Oregon State. Y'all have to drop the travel angle. Our conference travel takes us just as far, just on the east coast. Our non-conference schedules take us just as far, just in non-conference play. Travel can not be perceived as an obstacle. -
Good idea. When does our administration become innovative? People love to spend money at sporting events, especially after a few drinks and when they're happy after a touchdown score.
-
Why won't they be in shape? It's no different than a player getting hurt and returning after 5 weeks. Just because they're not practicing with the team, doesn't mean they're not training on their own.
-
You're right. I'm just saying I'd be in support of taking less if it ultimately became necessary to get into the new PAC. I sure would hope our leadership wouldn't sell themselves short at the start of negotiations. As far as I'm concerned, 8 is minimum for a conference so the PAC needs 2 more but they really need 10 or 12 to safeguard themselves against future membership losses. Not a matter of if but when that happens. Can't be floating with a bare minimum of 8. We have some leverage for now.
-
Right which is why I said I'd be for going in at half. I meant half rate, 50%, $7.5 mil, more than what we get now and more than the next AAC deal without Memphis and Tulane. It's a no brainer to me, especially if we could ramp up that number by say 10% per year like we're doing now in the AAC.
-
Depends on the disparity in strength. Strength of schedule will usually favor the team in the perceived better conference. With more money, these new PAC schools should be able to separate themselves from the other G5s whose next media deals will be smaller. I'd rather UNT be in the conference with more money so we can hopefully keep developing the program and not ultimately find ourselves in the pool of misfits.
-
If $15 mil is the number, I'd be all for UNT going at half with a ramp up system similar to what we're doing in the AAC. Staying in a depleted AAC will be more costly in the long run.
-
It's literally the top MWC programs with 2 pretty good former P5 programs and is about to have the top AAC programs. How is it an opinion that it will the best G5 program? If you take the best programs from 2 conferences, it's not crazy to say you've severely devalued those conferences and are now better than them. Actually seems pretty logical.

You're all worried about the talent fee when I'm just worried about how many more transfers we'll be losing to Marshall. Now we know why Earle went there.
