  1. Fair. The MWC has 6 and the PAC has 7. Things are about to get weird.
  2. I have a feeling Spruiells will be back as well. He's never stopped retweeting about UNT, even posts about them being suspended. Allen doesn't post much on Twitter or Instagram so I've got no indication either way.
  3. He posted this on his Instagram story at about 7pm.
  4. Does anybody know if the conference mandates a minimum standard for athletics spending? That would be the only circumstance under which I'd support dumping anybody, including us.
  5. Looks like every school posted a "committed" tweet. I won't share them all because it's too much. People on the twitters are pointing out it's like when the original PAC did a post saying they were committed and then all hell broke loose shortly after. Anybody get the same feeling?
  6. At least we're committed on Facebook and Twitter and the AAC made sure to know we're all committed together.
  7. Yup. That's how I see it. But at least the AAC greatly values keeping those 4 together but nobody else.
  8. You don't think the new PAC would get a better deal than the current MWC? Seems pretty obvious why those schools would bolt. Their current deal is their starting point PAC media deal with nowhere to go but up. By shedding MWC deadweight, their next deal won't be any less. I do feel for Hawaii who has absolutely zero conference that makes sense but the MWC and PAC. Hopefully they maintain a home somewhere.
  9. If you want to say they're not a top target, that's fine. ESPN listed them as a high profile target but obviously I'm not in the rooms so I can't dispute to what level they were a target. What is quite obvious though is that they're considered higher profile than UNT and that should frustrate all of us and should wake up our leadership. There is zero reason anybody should be ok with ESPN calling UTSA high profile but not us.
  10. So you think our leadership is idiotic enough to decline an offer without actually hearing what the offer is? You can't be that naive. Several reports list UTSA as a top target. Every report listing UNT is as a backup plan to get into Texas.
  11. Their logo is in the AAC release about sticking together. One of 4 logos. Ours is not. So yes, I'm sure about that.
  12. Well the rest of us weren't worthy of PAC consideration. We've been passed over by UTSA but apparently it's a victory that UTSA is gracing us with their presence.
  13. Sounds like they just couldn't afford to leave due to the exit fees.
  14. UTSA was desired, we were not. If you can't see that's a problem, I can't help you.
  15. The deal wasn't as sweet as the MWC deal, specifically as it pertains to exit fees. If that $10-$15 million is accurate, it's not good enough for full membership AAC schools which UNT is not.
  16. And let's be clear. This is only a victory because otherwise we'd be left behind. This buys us time until the next round of realignment because we're clearly not currently a priority for conferences trying to grow their brand. Hopefully our leadership recognizes that and acts with a sense of urgency moving forward.
  17. See this is a big deal. I'm glad the AAC is staying together in the current format. That said, we clearly weren't included in the talks to move as indicated in the AAC's release with the Memphis, Tulane, USF, and UTSA logos displayed. What are those 4 schools getting to stay in the AAC and are we getting anything as well? If we are getting nothing extra but the 4 listed are, is this is as much of a victory as it is for the other 4?
  18. As would I. There's always a short term and a long term outcome to these things. As it stands, looks like the AAC will stay put which I'm on with if we all stick together for the immediate future. Performance bonuses to lock in everybody would also be excellent. Reward those who put the conference on the map.
  19. Because as the PAC 12 found out, losing your best brands is not good for business. Most escaped that debacle, four schools did not. Do you think if the AAC collapsed when the current deal is up that we'd come out ok? Or would we be relegated to a conference with less money?
  20. He did. There were some Twitter posts from Sibley about he and McCollum joining each other at UNT. I'll try to find them.
  21. Tuesday, Dec. 17 Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl Toyota Stadium (Frisco, Texas) 9 p.m., ESPN Bonagura: Ohio vs. UTSA Schlabach: Georgia State vs. North Texas Friday, Jan. 3 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl Gerald J. Ford Stadium (Dallas) 4 p.m., ESPN Bonagura: Texas Tech vs. North Texas Schlabach: BYU vs. Georgia Tech https://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/41378445/2024-college-football-playoff-bowl-projections-week-4-cfp I certainly would like a second chance at Tech IF we stick to the 3-4.
  22. Because it isn't that serious and it's ok to enjoy innocent banter even if it's at one's own expense. Spend enough time on here and you'll notice we all mock our football program at times. Don't know about you but the weather is nice where I am. I'll probably enjoy some more football and grill some burgers for the family. Regardless of how you spend your day, these posts won't hurt you. Have a nice day!
