  1. He's already turned down Oregon in the past even though he went to college there but sure, I guess it's technically possible.
  2. He's been there since 1989. Actually, per Wikipedia he hasn't coached anywhere else in his entire college coaching career regardless of title. Why would he leave now?
  3. If true, I feel better about the direction of our program and our leadership. I still think you should always listen to an offer before saying no but I can respect this position.
  4. So next HC will be Zach Orr with Cobbs OC and Fine as QB coach?
  5. The biggest programs in college football hire guys like this as analysts. There's no such thing as being "good on offense." Bring him in and have him do nothing but scout the defenses of Memphis, Tulane, and Army so the top decision makers can gain as much knowledge on those opponents and game plan appropriately. Don't need him to coach, don't need him on the field. Just game plan. If somebody gets hired away this offseason, he's here to promote if needed.
  6. That was certainly a missed opportunity. We've never had a 10 win season, haven't won a conference championship in 20 years, and have one bowl win in about that same time frame. People complain fans and students don't show up even when we're winning but our best years, such as our recent 9 win seasons, came with no hardware. Those are average years at many successful programs and would even be failures at some. We need a couple huge seasons to change that perception. It's done wonders for Tulane.
  7. People see big wins. Beat Memphis who suddenly looks vulnerable, beat Tulane, beat Army, win the conference, win a big bowl. Have a 2022 Tulane season. People will notice.
  8. I'll take heat from this but I mentioned it in previous threads about Chandler Rogers so whatever. That guy performed great when games were out of reach. His greatest performances were comeback attempts that fell short. Electric? Yes. Could he consistently lead and sustain scoring drives early against good teams? No. He put us in huge holes with those first half performances. I can't say the same about Morris so far, minus the Tech game.
  9. I'll say Morris can recruit skill positions, both on offense and defense. There's young guys performing everywhere.
  10. UNLV firing on all cylinders and the new QB1 performing better than Sluka did any of his 3 games. Wonder if his value will dip if the new QB1 does better than Sluka did.
  11. So right on brand? The Warhawk was a semi-finalist of an online poll available to students, faculty and alumni. The poll was narrowed down to three. The final decision was left to the president, James E. Cofer Sr., who chose Warhawks. He chose Warhawks over Bayou Gators and Bayou Hawks. In August 2006, ULM debuted its new mascot, Ace. Nick Munn, a sophomore history major from Bossier City, is intrigued by where the idea for the ULM mascot came from “There was a squadron of fighter pilots in World War II named the Warhawks,” Munn said. The Warhawk was chosen to honor Major General Claire Lee Chennault, a war hero who lived in Franklin Parish as a child. He commanded a group called the American Volunteer group (AVG) during World War II. The men called themselves the “Flying Tigers” but flew in planes called Curtiss P-40 Warhawks. During the war, the men were credited with 299 enemy aircraft destroyed, including 229 in the air during the war. Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, located near the Monroe Airport, features historical exhibits about Chennault and the men who flew with him. Admission into the museum is free, and it is open five days a week. https://ulmhawkeyeonline.com/1458/feature-stories/warhawk-is-more-than-mascot-part-of-history/
  12. You out scouting the next Jokic?
  13. Not sure what to think at the point. This SR draft analyst for barstool says UNLV players are not on Sluka's side and tweets I'm seeing support that. Next question is are they just upset he bailed on them or is there some dishonesty on his side. There's more but I won't post all. It's all available on Twitter through a bit of searching.
  14. Guess my question was asked based on the RB's tweet. Shame on UNLV.
  15. See I'm all for the players getting paid, though the system needs actual structure, but this is dangerous. If nothing is in writing, how do we know if the player is being honest? Maybe he misunderstood? I am not in favor of players deciding they've been wronged without evidence and then holding the honesty and reputation of a school hostage. I'm curious if any other UNLV players feel like the QB does.
  16. That first post has 30 reactions, 28 of which are negative. I think it's fair to say the majority of us active fans on this board do not agree with the suggestion.
  17. Where do you live? Germany?
  18. Opened the app at the right time apparently...
  19. I know you were, just playing along lol
  20. Let me find it. I'm so sorry for forgetting that
  21. Fair. The MWC has 6 and the PAC has 7. Things are about to get weird.
  22. I have a feeling Spruiells will be back as well. He's never stopped retweeting about UNT, even posts about them being suspended. Allen doesn't post much on Twitter or Instagram so I've got no indication either way.
  23. He posted this on his Instagram story at about 7pm.
