  1. #HotTaeks Also, had to do a #DoubleTaek
  2. You mean the movie, right? Right...?
  3. aka Thunderdome
  4. The event was advertised as a cookout. And, obviously, looks like one in the photo. Y'all should write CBS 11 a strongly worded letter about BBQ. And they probably thought about calling us North Texas State, so write about that too.
  5. Those are all longer than 7 characters. Try again.
  6. Always open to swinging by. We post up over by the trash bins (sounds terrible as I type) by the victory hall parking lot next to...gah the name escapes me. Great guy, he's always bringing by food and jello shots. I believe there is a tailgating map floating around somewhere.
  7. not to undermine your point, but i need help
  8. NORTH then buy a second car and have its plates say TEXAAAAAAS
  9. This. Also, let's talk first team and a second team numbers. So you've got 44 first and second teamers. That doesn't leave a lot of depth per position. You don't want to get your players hurt just for fanfare.
  10. Yup the old Lions and Cyclones player
  11. I may give some props to the old DB coach
  12. I'll just combine all the questions. Our run game can only get better as we are bringing more experience and more talent. But it all hangs on the line's ability to mesh and pick up a new scheme. Or pass game obviously hangs on Morris. In theory/pedigree, he's a better QB than what we've had the past couple seasons. In practice, he's also looked better than McNulty/Means/Dajon ever did. Game time? For the sake of the argument let's say he's also better. Goree showed last year he could beat guys (with route running) and get open, the ball just never came. So he is the one guy I will hang my hat on. Smiley needs to improve his hands/concentration. So it doesn't leave a lot of proven experience here. Enter Wilson and Ivery. In practice, they've been targeted plenty that I feel that these guys will be involved heavily in the pass game, whether it be swings, screens, and dump offs. So if you get these guys involved, I feel a little better about the "receiver" situation. Per Vito, Kelvin Smith has looked good, and I am getting excited for the kid. So on offense, I think will have a bump based on the assumption that Morris is better than what he had last year and the year before. On defense, while I am confident in our pass D, I'm not as confident in the run D, but I don't know much about that area of the game, personnel wise. So overall, we may be stagnant. Better statistics, marginally better in wins. But I hope we carry some hype through next offseason much like SMU did this past one (for real, they won 2 games, what gives).
  13. Come to think of it, Pepto would probably help
  14. Nice. Though I'd just keep the old name and tack on "at UNT" on the end. Bring in caliber prospects and show off just how nice and soft that Apogee turf is. Softer than my rug, I swear.
  15. Ah good to know (there's a clever never go back joke in there somewhere).
  16. Maybe after shelling out over 3 million in buyouts, they told RV "enough". I don't think RV will be here when his contract is up, and I feel that having to ask someone to buy out HIS contract is insult to injury.
  17. This is what I'm worried about. Will we be hampering our best quality on offense? Spreading out the line takes out of zone and outside plays, and forces us into gaps, unless we're mixing it up and disguising plays. If one guy gets beat on the o-line, is Wilson able handle that? On the flip side, as @GMG24 mentions, all you need is one or two good blocks to spring a draw play. Although maybe we're not running wide splits every single play.
  18. bigger pocket, wider throwing lanes. Gives QB a little bit more time.
  19. It's not an actual number, but rather a symbol. (Like Batman). No one one knows what the actual mysterious - and irrelevant - number is. This is more of a leap in logic. The whole thing boils down to the fact that the athletic department has very few minor donors and boosters (smallest number in the state). This may have lead to a dependency on a small group of big donors to get things moving. And because they have been crucial in the development/upgrading of certain facilities (of course much appreciated), while during all this time head coaches are hired and subsequently bought out, certain major failures of the athletic director give the appearance as being overlooked. (one of the worst football programs, very underachieving men's bball, and one of the worst women's bball programs in the nation. Shortcomings prolonged over a period of many many years with no obvious signs of improvement; evidence piling of his inadequacies of identifying the right coaches for the programs, drumming up fan support, and increasing booster and donation dollars - worst in the conference). This then gives the perception that the athletic director carries the interest of a "minute few" big donors because he's, well, he's still here and we half don't know why. That, and he is constantly on the defense, deferring any failures to other departed parties. The DRC has been critical, local ESPN analysts have been critical, one singe-engine plane was pretty adamant about what it thought, everyday fans are tired of it, but I digress.
  20. Fam and I have been sick but I'll definitely be out at the green and white game, weather permitting.
  21. Ok ok, I'm a little jealous about a name like TV Williams.
