  1. Well it kinda does. But then again, we aren't going to make anyone's list for anything - why would we - and that's a whole other conversation. ---------------------------------------------------- Back to the topic at hand, we really need to bring in a solid transfer QB for at least one more season. Hopefully, Morris can have enough success in this system to pique the interest of a transfer QB with Driskel-level experience. Don't get me wrong, if Shanbour can show that he can start, I'd love that. But we need the depth. Fine needs time to grow and learn as a passer (and physically), and we need depth other than Shanbour. (Obviously we need to also pick up another HS QB).
  2. Do we have enough DL depth for a 4-3/4-2-5 base?
  3. Uh, Pilot's Knob. Also, I think I can see Cabela's from the top of the tail.
  4. Well dang.
  5. Coming up from 5-0. Wild game. Following on the twitter. game tying run at the plate
  6. He's a complement to Wilson's style of play Besides, if our snap count is increasing (and not because we're playing catch up in the last quarter) I would like at least 3 solid RBs out there.
  7. Hey but we totally landed Darius McNair, tho right? Right? :-/
  8. While you could successfully debate your other points, I'll have to disagree on this point.
  9. Ok here is why I give the edge to Morris at this time. This has nothing to do about who will win more games, or who is better, or who has more experience. Nothing to do with size. I'm ok running Fine out there at 180 *if* he can play. Cause we don't know. This is about ability and what I've seen only in practice. Shanbour's got game in the intermediate range, and can pick a zone apart. Morris is on par, but has better placement, but I need to see more of Shanbour to be certain. Their throws are different, but they get the job done. Shanbour also has the added dimension in the run game. Morris has suddenness and works the pocket very well to extend a play, but can only run in a straight line and is not as quick or fast. Morris can throw on the run (to the right) with good form. Shanbour has shown he has that ability. Morris has more anticipation on comeback routes, and 1-on-1 matchups. He does, however, misread the 1-on-1 too quickly sometimes and bails. Needs to trust his receivers more and sling it. Shanbour is more of a gunslinger (I like gunslingers). I need to see more from Shanbour in the deep range (Morris has better touch and placement on the outside), and I need to see way better accuracy and touch from Shanbour in the short range. We are going to be passing to our backs out of the backfield plenty, and to TEs out of wheel routes/flats (there are other h-back routes, but i'm talking short range stuff). RBs and TEs were having to make adjustments to Shanbour's passes, losing momentum or dropping the pass. He has to improve this facet due to the fact that it is apparent that we will need him to execute this many times a game. Morris is better than him in this phase of the game. In the end I need to see more out of Shanbour outside the hashes, work the pocket more and step up, and I need to see him improve passes over the RBs shoulder. If we go Shanbour, or if we go Morris, playcalling will be different. Shanbour had several designed runs called up for him. I think Morris had 0. The willingness for coaches to dial up plays based on their players' respective abilities excites me.
  10. Yeah that's confusing. Maybe he had senioritis but got his act together in juco
  11. Shanbour's not small. At nearly 200lbs he's got size. He may not be tall but there's ways around that.
  12. I think what everyone's feeling is that, if we combine the vision that Dodge had (let's uncreatively call it a high-powered offense), with a coaching staff that could execute that vision, the yardage that we saw is the floor?
  13. For specifically SB Nation stuff, follow @ABrownGMG. Here's a link to his work http://www.underdogdynasty.com/authors/anthony-brown Everyone knows the friendly staff at http://meangreennation.com/ (plus podcasts) Reece Waddell and other NT Daily staff come up with decent stuff http://ntdaily.com/tag/football/
  14. HBCUs take in students from all races. For ejemplo, Bluefield Sate College - a HBCU - is 82% White.
  15. I got there at about 1:45 and it was pretty cleaned out. All I could find was 2XL and 3XL clothes. Ended up grabbing a throwback 2013 jersey
  16. Vision>> Very quick to hit the hole and make decisions - that may help us. Layers moves, maintains momentum. Uses blockers to his advantage, baits defenders. Not all that great in the open field, sometimes cuts/baits too early, so I'd rather keep him in between the tackles. Needs to be more consistent in keeping pads low because he's got a truck stick and fairly good balance. The closer we can inch him toward 200, especially around his thighs, the better. Would like to see him in short yardage and red zone situations here since he's quick to the hole and has a nose for the endzone.
  17. Y'all don't sleep on my man Thaddeous!
  18. Whoa let's pump the Shanbour brakes. I'm a fan, don't get me wrong. Although he has the added run dimension, has moxy, and can be accurate in tight windows, Morris has a greater range of throws. Right now, Morris is the clear lead and Shanbour is a very good back up that has me comforted should Morris miss time.
  19. Littrell's career run/pass has varied over the years. But the rbs were heavily involved in the pass game this scrimmage. I think part may be playbook, but I feel it may also be a reaction to growing pains in this new wide split scheme. Our rbs are good in the pass game, though. Extension of the run game yadda yadda. Shanbour looked shaky at first, but got into a good rhythm. He had a few designed runs that allowed him to show off that phase of his game. I do appreciate this coaching staff's ability to draw up plays based on personnel. While we may not win many more games, I think we are going to have some exciting football that will have us looking forward to 2017.
  20. DBs need to do better 1-on-1. Thompson, Goree, and Kelvin Smith were getting open at will. I'd also add Prater but he mostly faced two's
  21. 3001, Bob.
  22. Anybody want to ride in and list out popular local bands/ popular bands from this area
