  1. ETA: whoa didn't realize how huge this would come out.
  2. At 6'6"?? Good golly. It's so strange (in a good way, in a sad way) to see so much recruiting activity.
  3. Smatresk makes people resign from the bottom to the top levels of staff. Seen't it firsthand. He will have his own choice ready.
  4. Ah looks like vs Houston and vs Indiana we broadcast ESPN3 in 2011 http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/pdf/2011-12/091011.pdf
  5. Haven't we broadcast an ESPN3 game at Apogee, previously? So we should, at least, know how it's done? Also, I am a little surprised how many folks don't consume college football through the ESPN app (that have a cable subscription or Sling TV)? I'm always on there on Saturdays in the fall as they've got many games on at a time. Sling TV is getting more and more enticing.

  7. New billboard idea "We can't stop here, this is Baylor country!"
  8. Not sure if I read this one right, but out of all 201 D1 programs between 2010-2014, the average number was at 18% http://projects.huffingtonpost.com/ncaa/subsidy-gap oh and here's a school by school look http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/
  9. I was thinking the same thing as well. That the student and institutional subsidies are a way to balance the Athletic "deficit" because Athletics can't come up with it itself.
  10. Nope, I was just brought #offsides by the multiplicitous delivery. OP has the exact same thread already going. ETA: Though after a quick glance, looks like it got locked.
  11. As a board, I think we are done with the fomenting, and there's been plenty of time for soul searching. Time to look forward, not backward.
  12. I know Edna has a whole thing about capes, but if we do capes, then batman length capes. None of this half cape bs. Practicality be damned.
  13. ticket packages vs athletics fees Do ticket packages contribute towards general athletic fund? P5 programs are obvious outliers as they generate enough revenue through media, ticket sales, paraphernalia, bowls, conferences, etc.
  14. Does the $20 million figure represent the amount we had to be subsidized for? I think we talked about it in another thread a while back.
  15. Just as an FYI for everyone, and how we stand in the state in terms of fees. We don't need to hike subsidies if we could just bring in more revenue. Something that the next AD will hopefully make a priority. University Fees per student, per semester Total fees collected by university TXST $300 athletics fee $17,315,569 UTSA $240 athletics fee $12,032,206 UNT $165 athletics fee $10,724,272 UH $250 student services fee $7,260,060 UTEP $180 student services fee $5,935,317 TTU $57.20 athletics fee $3,237,896 TAMU $0 $0 UT $0 $0 Source: NCAA financial reports, university websites Credit: Annie Daniel
  16. We have rules against personal animuses at my house
  17. Ok. Let's say they hire an outsider who has been successful with mid majors. Then what. Jump in or wait for...?
