This. It's about the players (and coaches). I dare anyone tell a player they don't deserve to go to a bowl. Bowl games aren't participation trophies or a generous gesture towards college players, they're money generators. AutoNation or Popeyes or Advocare couldn't care less about the legitimacy of bowl games so long as they're getting money. (and the bubble bursting bc of these practices is another good discussion altogether)
