  1. My question wasn't rhetorical. I haven't been keeping up with this since I have no kids in a school in this kind of situation, so I was wondering if the government (local or otherwise) was going around forcing schools' hands. But since yours is: When a group of people asks me to stop calling them something, what do I do?
  2. What has been seen can never be unseen.
  3. I just thought it was the Best Damn Band in the Land?
  4. My old house in Denton had mosquitos year round, so yeah it's been bad. Mild winter, and lots of rain.
  5. Were they forced by the government to change their mascots? Or were they forced by popular opinion?
  6. Got another positive trap in Little Elm.
  7. You're right. We should expect to compete with any G5, because G5. But it's certainly not the case until we actually do. And it sucks. Hard.
  8. Just hit reply on the tweet
  9. I don't have any perspective on this, but I don't think he 1) would gave two craps about this forum (no offense, but he's 18 and also would know better as a QB), and B) would give two craps about negative stuff being said about him, football-wise. As any kind of athlete, you're taught to focus. I don't think he cares about what old men talking about teenagers have to say.
  10. And while I know you're mostly kidding, I also want to toss in the Tartan on the uniform idea.
  11. There's only one way
  12. Since we're running the 3-3-5, to me 13 defensive linemen seems fine. There will be plenty of LBs and DBs to fill the nickel, OLB, rover, Jack or whatever assignment we've got on the outside.
  13. When someone is being paid to write a scientific paper they have to disclose it in the article itself. And I'm talking about being paid by some corporation/private company to do the research. It is definitely always recommended to check the end disclosure of a scientific article for this kind of info. This is different from someone receiving federal dollars. These dollars are hard to come by, and extremely competitive. If you screw this up, you'll likely never receive funding again. The level of scrutiny is high, and occasionally, these types of "bad" research gets through. But it's at the risk of ruining your career over personal glory. At the same time, the scientific method is designed to challenge norms. Sometimes the challenge comes up with the same results, strengthening the robustness of these norms. Sometimes, the types of scientists you are referencing can't reconcile and screw it up for the rest of science. Screw them, they get called out by the community (their area of expertise) and have a long way to make amends, including sitting through a boring class.
  14. Healthy skepticism should come with knowledge on the subject matter. I trust an economist will debate economic policy because he is an economist. I don't trust an economist will debate the potential energy efficiency of a solar panel cell.
  15. After over a decade of not being a destination, we need to demonstrate that we now are a destination. Easy peasy.
  16. I mean, sure, I would have preferred him to stay. But you know what's weird? Having commits and decommits in the middle of summer. Active recruiting? Like, what even is that?
  17. That time of year folks. We got our first positive down in The Colony for WNV. Let me know if you've got questions, or recommendations on the map. www.dentoncounty.com/vmap
  18. Ditto what has been said. Had it last fall only during football season. Had the base package of $20 + a $5 sports package add-on that included ESPN el ocho, BeIN, campus insiders, etc. During college football season, I had damn near every game. Also had BBC America, TBS, TNT, USA, etc. Came with a T-Mobile discount so I was paying like $19 total including the package. Biggest downside is only 1 viewer at a time.
  19. That's a good point, but those go both ways, though.
  20. I mean I'm sure there is a new conference realignment, shade of green, a recruiting, or scheduling thread we can make, right? We can join forces and it will be glorious.
  21. Yeah but is that glory a matte or a chrome finish?
  22. I think sometimes he doesn't follow through/stop his hips early/uses just his arm @GMG24, and it makes his motion look wonky. Overall it looks fine. His footwork is nice, but sometimes he spreads his feet like he's about to do a split. Good talent.
  23. Above everything else, I hope he is healthy. Honestly not trying to be sanctimonious here, just trying to remind that these students are not commodities.
  24. Yeah. It's as bad as it sounds. Maybe worse. C'mon, man.
