Didn't call glass.

Even after this game we are averaging 30 minutes/game. That 40 minutes is Ferentz' second best ever. We're doing ok on TOP. We can't stay on, or get off the field on 3rd down for sure. Bright side on offense: We are converting not on 3rd down. We are currently on pace for the fewest 3rd down opportunities in the last 10 seasons, but the most 1st downs in that same span. So we have that going for us.

Iowa was also on the field for 40 minutes and 45 seconds. 40:45. That defense was gassed.

Stahp. They beat an FCS and Coastal. We'll win.

Bad gap play (by the DBs). Same reasons Army had two huge runs.

I'll meet you half way. The forced fumble was not luck, but a great football play. Rolling out to a touchback, sure that helped. Didn't read the article, but Khairi was blitzing and chasing down the QB, disrupting several plays, and was making great hits, going sideline to sideline.

Better than my dukies I'm sure, but I haven't been eating enough fiber.

I missed the connection there to the previous QBs here statement my bad. Last year 49% of our plays were runs. This year so far we're sitting at 55% runs. I'm sure that will balance out. We pass a lot, but we also run a lot. The volume of plays is the key here. We're on the field more than before and run more plays on top of that - we're on pace to run the most plays in the last 10 seasons. That's something we haven't seen before, compared to previous systems.

North Texas riding Air Raid into Kinnick Stadium

Hal Mumme and Mike Leach adapted LaVell Edwards' BYU playbook for high school and small college players with more shotgun and more passing. Great read, but it is long af: http://smartfootball.com/offense/the-air-raid-offense-history-evolution-weirdness-from-mumme-to-leach-to-franklin-to-holgorsen-and-beyond#sthash.Wk0HGPgO.dpbs So the Air Coryell *and* the Air Raid can trace both its roots to Sid Gillman's passing concepts. He spread the defenses out vertically and horizontally. Air Coryell depends on a strong inside run, and then they pass deep to short. Air Raid primarily passes short to deep. -
I guess I don't know where you're going with this - it just sounds as dismissive. He's only gone through two games, and this mindset will dismiss any and all accomplishments for the rest of his season/career. My point is so what if he's a product of the system. As long as he's the product of our system.

New Soccer, Track Stadium To Break Ground In October

Just get Randy Cody on the line! -
When you are left with FCS-number of players on scholarhsip, you need to make up the difference in the short term somehow.

I just pronounce it "The ipfff".

Armed Forces Bowl has more viewership, is always a better bowl. Last year it was >40% more viewership than HOD. *It's all relative.

Product of the system? C'mon. So was Case Keenum, Austin Davis, Max Hall, Kingsbury, Harrell. Do we complain about them? Fine is in year 2. We've played game 2 out of 12. Screw the stats. He looks way better than he did last year. He's much more improved than I expected him to be mechanically and with accuracy. Let him put up so we can shut up.

Army 4 times in, what, 14 months or so? I guess that's why we cancelled the other Army games, so we can do it all at once.

We talkin grizzly, koala, black, kodiak, brother, pooh, downy, or zombie bear? Interested parties would like to know.

Mason Fine Had 3rd Most Passing Yards In Week 2
Aldo replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
I wouldn't either. We have allowed 7 passing plays to go over 25 yards and 1 rushing play to go over 20 yards. You're right, that's not good. But 3 of those 7 were to one person. Our defense is disruptive. Allowing those huge gains were the exception, not the norm. We're getting all worked up because of how one first or second day pick whooped us hard. We will be fine. We're not world beaters, but we don't suck. -

We're not going to be facing any stout passing offenses. In conference, only USM has passed for over 250 yds/g (so far). -

We are going to walk into Apogee at 1-2 next week and start conference play... ...And we are going to light it up. C-USA is a whole lotta not good -
DRC: UNT aims to rebound, snap slide vs. FBS teams at Iowa
Aldo replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
What was the number in the L column vs SB? Or CUSA. Ok not sure if you mean one or the other, but what was our in-conference W-L? -
DT was 18-18 in his last 3 seasons. If only our defense this year was garnering AP votes, too.
