  1. It's an endorsement by the donors. If you look at the list of recent speakers, you get an idea of what voice they would like to use. Smatresk himself said so. http://ntdaily.com/donald-trump-jr-event-over-freedom-of-speech-bars-media-from-attending/
  2. Why have all the recent speakers come from Fox News? We used to get some solid speakers there: Generals, an admiral, T Boone, and Fisher. The diversity of backgrounds and scope of topics in the Distinguished Lecture Series (which is where George W, Rice, Wozniak, Bill Nye spoke) is way better. https://kuehneseries.unt.edu/past-speakers
  3. I think the branding guy (URCM) started to expand the brand and centralizing sales with whatever that collegiate association is. I’m sleepy I don’t remember much from back then rn.
  4. In about 4 more minutes of game. I mean we'll be discussing numbers all day. Their numbers came against bad-to-mediocre competition. They hit on big plays. They can pull out wins against bad-to-mediocre teams. USM is better than mediocre and it will be a good test. I need to find a game to watch. I think UTSA vs Baylor is available so I can see what's up.
  5. They're extremely efficient, and they have controlled the clock. With fewer plays run, big plays stand out. imo, because they're still at three games their stats are a little skewed. Their numbers will even out. Not saying they're bad, but they're no conference stalwarts.
  6. That's what I mean, historically we've been bad so bye or no bye, we lose games on our own (and lose games anyway). This looks like a different team, and smells like a different team. Bye will have no effect other than having more time to look at film.
  7. Ford stadium smells like piss and parking and traffic is awful.
  8. Ah. We got lucky on both sides of the ball, and Jeff Wilson played like Jeff Wilson. Different team, different season. Using the bye is a weird excuse. We've been bad for a while that the chances of losing after a bye are sadly high. Numbers.
  9. Cancelling your first game against a fairly serious G5 opponent (Houston) and *then* playing against ineffective offenses to open the season.
  10. UTSA is one of the least explosive teams in the conference. USM is the second most, by the numbers. UTSA's defense either has to hold USM, or UTSA's offense has to be taken out of their gameplan.
  11. Respec' to FAU, too. Offensively, they're actually making plays.
  12. Re: Army (not sure why we're even talking about this) but NT got a lot of luck in that one. fumbled punt, terrible passes from a triple option QB. There was a defense taking advantage of turnovers, but there was also an Army offense playing uncharacteristically not good. The other 12 games? Averaged 1.5 turnovers per game. They only lost 1 turnover during the bowl game.
  13. imo Canales' system would do well. Kind of a power spread hybrid system.
  14. Small moves, Ellie. Small moves.
  15. Website keeps getting DDoS'd tho and people can't transfer out. Shame.
  16. The Assad School for the Gifted? I hear they're about to start a football team. Great TV market.
  17. You're not making this trash talking thread any fun. Roll with it. We can be normal in any other thread.
  18. *cough* https://www.ksat.com/news/utsa-fan-site-hacked-by-supporters-of-syrian-president
  19. Wake me up when UTSA wins a bowl game.
  20. Muhammad is exceeding Trice in the tackle department on a per game basis, but isn’t the disruptive force (right now) that Trice was while the ball was still in the air. And yes, Muhammad is the team leader in tackles right now.
  21. Fine is on pace (comparing to DT's 13 games in '13) to double his TDs, 20% more yards. All while throwing for fewer INTs - which I think is a part of your point.
  22. Staggers was bracketed (hey it worked!) at times, and Griggs was off target a lot. We were more strategic about blitzes and pressure, containing Ito Smith and Staggers.
