Wilson's style is more in the vein of AP and Demarco Murray. Those guys are run benders. Bradshaw's game relied on elite change of direction, stutters, and lateral agility. Shameless plug I wrote a little about that here and part 2

The fam makes the drive several times a year and it's not bad (both from 45 and 6). I think they've reworked the 35/30 interchange to ease things, but I've usually exited by then to get to 45 so can't confirm. Oh and iirc the Waco construction is done. I know @aztecskin drove it recently, so he may have some insight.

We bought a ticket with promotion gomeangreen for the MIL. According to @meangreen_2015's post it comes with field access and a shirt for a kid.

[NT Daily] Opinion: Some students find the Mean Green Brigade lacking
Aldo replied to dmaxel's topic in Mean Green Football
To be fair, those were reactions to reactions of an article reacting to how people react to the band at football games. And seriously, we think the band is awesome. We always use them to talk crap to that weird Rice mob, or SMU band, or any other band. We always comment on how much louder they are in broadcasts, especially when they send them to an away game. They bring energy, they fill the stands. -
[NT Daily] Opinion: Some students find the Mean Green Brigade lacking
Aldo replied to dmaxel's topic in Mean Green Football
For one, you’re not the only GB member - or marching member - here. And while some may see me as some Jose Bob, I think I have some basis here with a very very short attempt in the Music school. I feel like I need to establish that based on your own position. Secondly, the biggest criticisms are the lack of direction. That’s not on the students. Many folks here have directly criticized the directors. That’s not on the students. My GB listening experience has just been 14 season (compared to other old farts here). While I don’t mind hearing the same songs over those 14 seasons, the delivery of the music has been lacking recently, compared to previous seasons. To reiterate, many criticize the direction of the band and not the students specifically, and I’ll agree. My family members as well have noticed it. -
They used to scan IDs at Fouts. Not sure why the change. Card security (since it was tied to your Wells Fargo account)? People lose their IDs? Too expensive to maintain card scanners? Dunno.

Early look at UTSA's next opponent: North Texas
Aldo replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
lol they recycled an old 2016 article when UTSA beat Southern Miss 55-32. Either they care that much about UTSA football, or they were tearing up with nostalgia. -
Yeah someone should go *talk* to greek life. Ahem.

Army has a super vanilla schedule. They'll likely win a lot of games out of default.

Bye week boredom: What's your take on Cam Newton's remarks?
Aldo replied to MeanGreenTexan's topic in Mean Green Football
I think your point/observation starts off on the wrong foot. It's not about degrading. It's about tact and acceptance of a fact. Sure, she's a woman in a role that has been dominated by men. But he didn't point that out - he specifically called out her talking x's and o's which is a question of ability within the context of being "female" which is what the subject of his statement was. I think people are just able to stand up for themselves more effectively than they could 10 years ago, and the best defense mechanism now is "oh don't get offended" instead of "oh my bad I said something stupid." I think it matters more, and these conversations are more meaningful, to folks that have had to endure these same "non PC" conversations for more than just 10 years ago. -
Bye week boredom: What's your take on Cam Newton's remarks?
Aldo replied to MeanGreenTexan's topic in Mean Green Football
Who cares? It's a room full of professionals. She asked a good question, Cam just needs to answer it. End of story. ----------------------------------------- This whole situation is a mess from start to finish, and if you kept up with this story it will surely lock this thread, sooooo...let's move on. Seriously. It's incredible. As in, wtf is happening. -
We need more than 3 wins.

Ok fine, I'll bite, but before I do, we've also hosted Madeleine Albright in the past! Have we hosted Powell yet? Need that for my trifecta. fwiw I am R and conservative. Alright since you keep going that route: You continue to perceive the Trump Jr talk literally rather than symbolically. It's easy to dismiss circumstances surrounding current events by saying "gawd, he's just a speaker." It doesn't take much nuance to see Trump Jr's circumstances are negative. All the investigations, all the attention, all the lost sponsors over the years (we talkin money right?). To refuse to accept that, is to take a stand on nothing while also not affiliating yourself with any views I guess in an effort to distance yourself while also showing support? I don't get it. By saying liberal this or liberal that demonstrates a lack of *wanting* to understand the actual issues at play, and giving yourself an easy opportunity to denounce a singular group on what you think is so not fair. People will protest this, or that, no matter the quantity of this or that. Someone like Albright (and one day Powell, crossing my fingers) speaks to me - and many people - more than some former rando like Trump Jr.
-
Why do you continue carrying the conversation in this direction? I think the speaker selection is poor. I'd rather listen to Condoleezza Rice, a former admiral, a former president, a federal reserve CEO rather than a news anchor or panelist of any channel or political affiliation. Those folks have held actual positions that matter globally and nationally, and so can communicate great experiences, as well as attract a diverse number of people and donors.
-
Are you joking? Bush, Rice liberal? You can't please everyone all the time, but to pretend that only this speaker or that speaker gets negative attention generally just means you only tune in when you want to tune in. BUT that's not my point. My point is, this series previously has had quality speakers. I'll listen to an admiral or general any day of the week.
