  1. FAU (and even FIU) has been a preseason favorite for a few seasons running because they've had the talent in place. People noticed. The North Texas roster was gutted. We pretty much started as an FCS team. We all have expectations. Mine was 5 wins. They are outperforming expectations. That's great, but let's keep that in perspective. This roster isn't the most talented roster in the conference. I'm drooling imagining what this team will look like with a complete roster over the next few seasons.
  2. Then you're a putz!
  3. It's not that he's a scrambling QB, it's that he's a runner getting a direct snap. Army tends to just fall forward for about 5-6 yards.
  4. Or after a long Jeff Wilson run, we can play Ludacris "Move..." Or Can't Touch This. I'd be fine with whichever.
  5. To add. Last year we had one of the biggest swings in the nation in ppg from 2015 to 2016. We were still last in the conference in many offensive categorize. Now we are at or near first in many categories and tied for most wins in the conference iirc
  6. And score the 4th least number of points vs conference with them. I feel bad for those recruits.
  7. Why are you just focused on point spread? We just drubbed UTEP, we held on to a 1 point lead in Ruston for nearly half of the 4th quarter, we came back with a minute to go to beat UTSA, etc. I think 7-3 is pretty damn impressive.
  8. Just like FAU, we performed poorly vs OOC.
  9. I *will* say that this Tenn team would be great for Kiffin. I know I know...
  10. Tennessee does have some wrinkle of air raid in them. They're a smashmouth spread, and have plenty of concepts that translate well to air raid.
  11. 10/10 would it again? The proposal I mean, not the dancing. Congrats dude.
  12. Out of 254. Haven't made heads or tails of that rating system as the FCS squads ahead of NT have awful records. Mostly just use it for SOS
  13. He's on the 2-deep. But Ozougwu probably sees lots of time, and other young guys.
  14. Holy moly. He’s got the acceleration we need at Darden/Lawrence’s spot. Smoove.
  15. WOO! Looks like mean, green, touchdown-catchin, 1st down dealin, sonofagun.
  16. Funny enough, @aztecskin goes into detail about it here: https://meangreennation.com/mgn-podcast-utep-preview-2017/ I wasn't listening though otherwise I'd give you the tl;dr
  17. Never saw a Cover 0 interpreted like that before
  18. Which is what we're talking about.
  19. A pass reception isn't necessarily a score.
  20. Let's take a look at conference play. In two games we allowed a gross amount of offensive points to FAU (69) and UAB (43). In the other 4 conference games, we've allowed an average of 25 ppg of offense. So that excludes the two KO returns (since we're talking defense here). And we don't triple cover anyone.
  21. @Harry just reminded me...mwahaha
  22. It's always good to have expectations. Certainly. But you got to have context. This isn't a dominating team on paper or on film. The offense is filled with teenagers and has gone from worst to first. The defense needs work. A lot of work. But damn, dude. Give some margin for error on a young, inexperienced team that doesn't have the talent across the board that other teams in the league do. That's on the coaches, but that's whole other conversation. "Team X and Y have had the same amount of time in their system as us." We beat team X and Y.
  23. I get it. We should have beat UAB and ODU like we did USM, due to game script alone, but we kept them in the game. La Tech is a different team than all of those, except for the young QB. UAB has the best QB out of this bunch, imo. The offense gave us a preview of what they can be with a consistent defense, special teams, and offense itself. But that hasn't been the case. Coaching, execution have been up and down through every game. But we adjust. Defenses have schemed out Guyton and attacked the offensive line. Since UTSA, defenses have blitzed and blitzed and blitzed knowing they can disrupt the pass game. And yet we still win. Give credit where it's due. La Tech is a good team. They have injuries, we have injuries. They have issues, we have issues. This is CUSA. We play to our competition. We aren't a complete team, but the fact this inconsistent team is pulling out wins is a difference from past teams. Am I content about that? No, we can be so much better, but right now this is what we got. It's good enough to pull wins, and for damn sure I expect us to be even better next season.
