  1. (Bumping this thread cause it can be turned into quality x's and o's talk (looking at @GMG24) instead of all the whiny crap going on elsewhere) Just ran across this thread and this is exactly right. Dude ran an out route on him nearly every time for acrobatic catches on uncontested throws (damn there were a few bad throws to the outside by Silver but double damn that dude was catching e-very-thing). Jenkins can only react so quickly once he's sure he's not going to be burned by a double move. 2nd quarter finally started pressing with Jenkins and the QB shifted his focus to Preston and Tyreke Davis in the slot in the third quarter and then *that's* when they started running away with it.
  2. We blitzed Muhammad quite a bit this season. And iirc Preston as well.
  3. Going into the CCG, North Texas had allowed 24 sacks (according the cfbstats). In the 2 postseason games, they allowed 15 more. Yes that's awful, and that's what facing great d-lines looks like. This vulnerability was there all year long, but really picked up steam after UTSA laid the blueprint. O-line has been an issue since 2015, and hopefully recruiting and development the past couple of classes are ready to improve this situation.
  4. You went 100 miles in 45 minutes??
  5. As @aztecskin mentioned on the podcast, it's looking more and more like North Texas is leaning towards the agile, shifty, explosive back, rather than a bruiser. Air raid predicates itself on the individual exploding for huge gains on short plays. I think Torrey in particular would be really good in the short pass game. But I would loooooooooove a bruiser.
  6. It's amazing to think he's climbing those charts mostly on one season's worth of stats. He'll be #1 with just 2 season's worth by next year's end (if all goes well, obvs). Makes me excited for the coming seasons as Fine's career stats shouldn't be insurmountable if we continue our offensive growth.
  7. I need that hat
  8. Ah got it thanks
  9. lol yes. There are 5 lineman that it applies to as well and sometimes an h-back.
  10. Nic Smith has been solid in pass pro.
  11. I think we have 3 safeties? Williams, Gibbs, Crosby. All HS
  12. Agh I totally forgot about this dude! WOO!
  13. I don't think he's saying that Fine sucks, but I think he's overrating Martin's ability to come in and push anyone as a true freshman. Trust me, I hope he does. But it's not realistic.
  14. I was trying to find any tidbit of news to confirm if Brown was out or not. Saw reports of him at practice (not necessarily practicing). I'm sure Jones will step up.
  15. My butt hurt was only softened by the Woodford Reserve in my 'nog
  16. Who's giving him a pass? No one is giving a pass. The defense must get better. They did their jobs when they had to, but they can do a whole lot better. See this point
  17. *gasp* there are 17 characters in "Rock N Roll Sushi"!
  18. Sandwiched in between the FAU games, the last 4 conference games we allowed a total of 6 (SIX!) offensive touchdowns. In fact, against all conference teams not named FAU, we allowed a total of 18 offensive TDs, with a high of 6 vs UAB and then 4 against USM. So 10 in those first two games, and then 8 TDs for the other 5. That ain't bad. FAU is really good and better than us right now The defense did its job against bad teams especially after letting off the gas early on UAB Obviously the defense needs to improve but it's not a death knell. It's consistency and execution in all 3 phases. Disclaimer: 61.5% sure my numbers are right.
  19. o rly?
  20. Dude I can't even do that version of the talon in real life. It's more like arthritic talon.
  21. Winning this bowl game. Market more. Win recruiting battles. Half-time concert vs SMU at Apogee is worth a shot. (obviously someone known). Market more. Competing for first in the division again. Look, we broke #2 most attended games twice this season. Why take away from that?
  22. What isn’t working that we would move our venue 10 miles away to a small soccer stadium? This is a terrible idea and small time.
