  1. Yes! He did a great job facing the blitz. And by facing, I mean not staring at the defender as he's running toward him.
  2. Ok that makes sense.
  3. Not taking a shot at the NFL yet? Also, this may be a dumb observation, but how are you the MVP and not on the 1st-team. I guess this boils down to MVP vs Offensive POY. Isn't MVP "better" than POY?
  4. I was a little skeptical when you said no offers. This kid is probably the most accurate qb I've seen on these boards. That's why most of these plays attack the soft spots in the zone, coaches did well in using his skill. He's also solid throwing against single coverage down the sideline. His throwing motion changes between over the top and his go-to 3/4s motion (which could hamper him since he'd be 6'1" throwing over 6'5" linemen), but mechanics can be worked on. I'm actually a little excited for this kid. His receivers did great work, too.
  5. As much as I prefer Fort Worth night life (it's just easier, cheaper, and less about being seen) over Dallas, the commute to Fair Park from Fort Worth would be a freaking beating. And as much of a headache it is to park at Fair Park, don't stay nearby as others have said... Here is a list of hotels on the DART metro lines (some of these are "near" the line, like Hyatt Regency, but I'm kinda lazy). And here is a public transit map of downtown Dallas Fair Park is on the Green Line if I'm not mistaken.
  6. That Atlanta tv market thoe...
  7. Rodney Bendy 6-4, Emmanuel Moore 6-4, Caleb Chumley 6-6, (Goree 6-4, Rutherford 6-5). This receiving core is getting big fast. Me likey. From the highlight videos, Chumley has to put in a lot of time with his footwork (non-existent) and some other parts of his throwing motion to improve as a passer.
  8. Hey maybe we are trying to recruit June Jones...
  9. It's going to take a lot of pick sixes
  10. My prediction is Greer transfers and DW stays. I agree that it does sound like it could be a JUCO guy, and not someone on the roster or Chumley.
  11. One of the best/appropriate reaction GIFs I've seen in a while...
  12. You do bring up a good parallel about how those SB defenses masked Eli's deficiencies.
  13. Agreed.
  14. Looks like I'm going solo. I've got an extra ticket now.
  15. That's not what I get when I google that...
  16. Don't forget former players who are positional coaches in the NFL.
  17. If you like a Cheers type environment, Hickory Street Lounge opens up at 10am. It's right next to Rusty and has tons of TVs.
  18. Anyone? Anyone? The Fridge was a little shorter, but maybe we can put him in similar packages we had Abbe in.
  19. Picked up by the Cards, I believe, and never panned out
  20. At least we will see more run plays, right?
  21. Rusty Taco opens real early, and doesn't East Side open early on game days?
  22. I guess I'm trying to set up an argument against those "but remember the Dodge days" folks. The spread offense didn't lose us games, it was obviously Dodge's disastrous defense (alliteration up in this). Dodge brought in great recruits, but did nothing with the talent. This staff can't seem to bring in the talent - while showing what they could do with the level of talent brought in by Dodge - and a reason could possibly be this inefficient style of offense. I love me some hard-nosed football, but as many have said, the times they are a changin'.
  23. The spread offense is certainly entertaining to watch. Do we currently have the personnel, though? Outside of Marcus Smith, maybe Kidsy, and JWilson, we don't really have the speed or solid WR technique to consistently go down the field. Another hypothetical: If we had this year's disappointing defense in the Dodge era, would it have been a different story back then? (might have to dig up some stats) I am not against the philosophy, I'm against poor coaching (Dodge). We will never forget how bad we had it, but we can't blame offensive scheme for that.
