43-6, yo.

I think this requires its own thread, but I agree. I don't think that it gets tougher, but that this is a competitive league in general, and as a fan are new to this level of parity that exists in CUSA.

Some of those guys may not be here next year after the Smith addition.

New UNT DC will be Chris Cosh per ESPN Brett McMurphy

Is our DL that big of a question though? I think my concern would be more about the DBs and LBs when it comes to defense. -

lol no I was being sincere. A positive's a positive. And I agree with you about the offense. -

When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble give a whistle! Appreciate your optimism. -
Yup this is what I'm seeing in USF video.
-
Well we could both be right. Looking at a few games (broadcasts on youtube) of KState in 2010 and 2011 vs Texas, KU, Iowa State, and A&M, they are clearly in 4-3. I guess we'll find out.

I mentioned in the other thread that he was running the 4-3 at USF, Maryland, and SC when he was coordinator.

Looking at USF videos and boards, it sounds like 4-3 defense bend don't break coverage Edit: Ran 4-3 base at Maryland, SC, and Michigan State. -

How I'm feeling about our JUCO haul in general (and yes I know it's purple and gold, focus on the emotion!)
-
In regards to that KP tweet, interesting that Nassau CC favorited the tweet. Any connections there, or just a random favorite? I am very curious to know who he's referring to!
-
I think the difference here is more college game tape, better college stats (especially YPA), and seemingly no attitude issues. He also wasn't kicked off any team.
-
A quick look at his JUCO highlights and this is what I see: Good technique. Keeps the ball up high, throwing motion solid (over the top), footwork is good. Delivery is phenomenal (a bullet!). Drives the ball well when he throws, and places it where only the receiver has a chance. Reacts quickly. Accuracy is really good from the short to intermediate throws. Has a very strong arm, and his technique indicates that his deep ball is likely accurate as well (look at how Bridgewater's deep ball has improved over this season, because of improvements to his footwork/driving the ball). Although it remains to be seen whether he can read a defense, it is still a great get. I am getting very excited about this offense. It's like a breath of fresh air on these boards.
-
So his options back then were Louisville (Bridgewater), then UCF (Bortles), and WKU (Doughty)? That's tough luck. Not surprised he wants to go somewhere he is confident he can compete to start. And I like that attitude.

Ah right Tauaalo! Can't wait to see that guy play. And his hair.

You guys, this kid is really good. He is the big, fast, physical receiver that can win battles at the LOS we've been missing. (I say missing bc we haven't seen the Carthage kids play). Based off his sophomore video, he's quick off the blocks, has great feet, is really creative with his route running (which will require some learning by the QB), and is aggressive. I noticed that when the corner is in zone coverage, or not pressing, he's got a move with his hips that baits the CB one step outside. That is some good technique, and demonstrates that he is able to put consistent pressure and different moves on these DBs, forcing them to react to these baits. He reminds me of a running back in these zone coverages. He's able to exploit the soft spots well, and catches away from his body, and in traffic. When the CB is pressing, he beats the CB by baiting him inside, and he takes the sideline. Although he's pretty good at this, it seems to be his go to maneuver, and the CB doesn't bite every time. But that's what these WR coaches are for, right? (he also rounds out his routes often) That being said, he is very good at breaking away from the CB consistently to get open whenever these CBs don't bite during press. He is fast, and he's quick in small spaces with solid technique. I think we got ourselves a true WR1.

Are any of the DTs we are recruiting big and physical enough to be a nose tackle? We currently don't have any on the roster.

This guy...

Just from the video my guess would be RG or RT. Kid can run block. I dig it.
