I say make it sans serif and diagonal (think kentucky), put a stripe along the crest, on a black matte helmet and you got yourself a deal

I think the defensive strides (JUCOs) we've made this offseason is going to mitigate some of the offensive mishaps we are afraid of. We used the JUCOs to fill a need this year that we already had last year, and I think we are coming out on top. Because of the lack of that 2012 class being here, we saw the floor. In other words, I don't think we get worse. Like in 2013, the defense is what will win us more games than lose us. Now, I don't mean we are going to have a 2013 defense, I am saying that we bottomed out 2014 defensively, and we are stop-gapping now. This helps out a sputtering offense.

Watched his video again. So excited. His vision is on a different level from what we have now. He has great touch and delivery. Big arm. Very accurate in the intermediate range (oh what a relief it is). Needs his dropbacks to be more consistent as he won't have as much time to throw here as he did at Butler. This guy isn't a project. Needs to learn the ropes, then throw him out there asap.

MGB: Offseason questions series No.1 -- QB situation
Aldo replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I wouldn't say McNulty turned it on at UTSA last year, but he was hitting some solid passes in tight windows. If he is able to improve on that, we may be able to see some low 200 yard games to start the year. That'd be something. Biggest problem is consistency down field, and he locks onto the primary receiver. If the primary receiver is covered, and it takes McNulty too long to realize that, he's in trouble. He doesn't look off DBs, doesn't challenge LBs. This can be taught, but I didn't see a whole lot of improvement over the last 5 games, including his down field range. But he's got some poise, will hit a good, tough pass a few times a game, and is a tough dude. I'll give him credit where it's due. He has the ability to keep us in a game, he's just not going to be the guy to win it on his own. (Defense also enters the conversation here). Another factor that affected QB play last year was receivers. I think Kidsy and especially Smiley seeing more snaps will help the QB out. Those two and Marcus Smith need to get better at being physical and selling their routes, and coming back to the QB when he inevitably scrambles. Physicality is something that Thad brings, and I CAN'T WAIT. This year's WR core will be the best we've seen in a while. Fast, physical, and talented. Just got to get them the ball. -
It will all depend on that o-line. Just give us a qb that won't hold on to the ball and a receiver that will get open. McNulty had his moments. If we can just get someone that can release the ball quickly and over the line of scrimmage in a dink and dunk offense, I think someone can get some momentum going before D Smith has a chance to get playing time. For the WR, I'd ideally like to see Thad on one side, and Goree/Smiley rotating on the other, with Harris inside. I suspect it'll be Harris, Kidsy, and Smiley as X, Y, and Z to start the year off, with Goree and Smiley rotating? Heck they might even rotate Goree inside.

A trophy with a sombrero on it? Heck yeah! Since we're both birds, wonder if there will be a play on that.

These are half hour videos. How long do you want to wait for it to buffer. Especially since most of us are on a mobile device?

It won't be TXDoT making changes to Bonnie Brae during 35Express renovations. We,ll have to wait in the city, whenever that'll be.

I checked his twitter on SD and looked like he got a walk on offer at Kentucky. Haven't checked since.

^ Yeah that's what I was referring to about there still being a divide between Denton and the university. -
UNT President NT Daily Inverview
Aldo replied to ChristopherRyanWilkes's topic in Mean Green Football
"Yeah, we love the Square. We love Queenie’s and Hannah’s. We also like many of the littler places." :-/ Two places I (and many of us regular Dentonites) can't afford to eat. A lot of what he talks about Denton (including convention center, and the folks) sounds like there is still a clear division. -
Breakdown of 2015 signing class by position
Aldo replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
After playing w Excel (and not-work-doing), here are some measurables. I'd put speed metrics in here too, but I gotta get some work done. Position (count): Average height/weight ATH (2): 6'2.5/210 DB (6): 6'0/182 DE (3): 6'3.3/251 DT (2): 6'3.5/285 LB (3): 6'2.3/217 OL (5): 6'5/300.6 QB (2): 6'3.5/240 TE (1): 6'3/235 WR (2): 6'3/192 Overall, good measureables. Gotta love the OL size. -
Highly doubt it's a server overload thing, but optimistic. It's not like it's their first live presser they've ever done. Some just screwed up. On a really important date. Whatever. It'll be up at 2pm.

'15 JUCO LB Demetrius Cain (Mississippi)
Aldo replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Is Cain the one that has 3 years to play 2? Although, I doubt Cain is the one that gets a year off. Maybe hedging bets on spring JUCOs? -

SMU QB Neal Burcham tears ACL, likely out for 2015
Aldo replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I think we played against all of them last year? -
Apparently made All District and All State on both sides of the ball. http://www.parishepiscopal.org/page.cfm?p=1466&teamID=4 Edit: I assume among private and parochial schools? (TAPPS)

Whooey. This kid knows angles, sets up his tackles, and wraps up. Hard hitter too.
