Just to go with someone who (I think) hasn't been mentioned yet, Blake Bean.

Deion Hair'Griffin QB/ATH (FW Arlington Heights) - SIGNED LOI
Aldo replied to meangreen15's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
According to 247 he had offers from Army, ULM, and SMU? Sweet. Welcome home! -
Yeah your recruiting class this year could make for an unfortunately quick turnaround down the line. Do you mind giving a run down on the key spots and any freshman starters? I know y'all got a great recruit at RB and one at WR, but curious about any changes to QB and the run def.

'16 RB Patrick Taylor (Humble Atascocita)
Aldo replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I guess the difference is - and what is getting me excited - we are actually landing those bigger impact players that we offer. Our biggest impact WRs of the past few years have been about 6' or less. Bradley is 6-2, and very physical (playing time at DB). Rutherford 6-5, Goree 6-3. That [highly anticipated] trio is the biggest in recent memory. Oh and Thad Thompson is 6-2 and definitely physical. -
'16 WR Rico Bussey (Oklahoma) - SIGNED LOI

Just saw his name on the list Harry shared. Boy this kid is quick and fast. He'd make a great fit here. He's already a natural at the screen game. -

I was confused for a second, but yeah I forgot about Middleton who is also a big back. Overall I've seen a concerted effort in offering bigger RBs and WRs. Middleton looks like he has the frame to add on even more, and we could always use another bruiser. -

I guess we are looking for our next 3-down back. I like the intensity when he hits the hole, but also shows good patience. Me likey. -
We really won't know who's starting for SMU at QB until we find out what that Baylor D-line does to them.

This was a big issue last season. Lots of drops and guys just weren't able to get open or improvise while McNulty was out of the pocket. Glimpses here and there tho.
-
I'd go with Goree or Wilson.

Richard Lagow back in play at North Texas?
Aldo replied to All About UNT's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Interview with Lagow. Insight into his situation and he talks about North Texas http://www.recruitingnewsguru.com/former-dallas-area-star-qb-and-uconn-signee-richard-lagow-working-back-to-d-i-ranks-from-cisco-c-c/- 21 replies

How did Banogu fare at LT? I'm not terribly concerned about our O-line in terms of the run game, it's more about pass pro I'm concerned about.

Rutherford packs a punch at the line of scrimmage, but it's different when catching the ball. But playing jumpball vs a corner will hopefully become effortless, especially if he can create that separation at the LOS. Please no screens for him.

I don't care about June Jones, 2011 is when McCarney was hired, and we got a shiny new stadium. What's to troll? Facts are facts. Other than boasting about spending millions on coaches, what do you have to bring to the table? Not any more than we do. That's the point. We're both losers right now. Twinsies, if you will. Money, AAC pedigree, and "we're just better" means nothing if you lose. The only thing I care about when it comes to SMU, is how our recruiting (and eventual production on the field) will compare to Chad's in a few years. Oh and beating SMU. If you've got anything meaningful, useful, or worthwhile to talk about, welcome.

He's got great size! Very fluid hips, and decisive. As cdizzle mentions, I like that he doesn't get taken down by the first tackle. Put ten more pounds on that frame and we've got a 3-down back. Hope we can keep him. At first I thought Rashad Jennings, but you're totally right. His cutting and lateral agility while still going forward remind me of Murray/McFadden's syle.

The Steelers have Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Markus Wheaton, Dri Archer, and drafted Sammie Coates and Jesse James. There's an enviable amount of receiver talent on that roster. Would like to have seen him go to a needy team like the Panthers. Hope he can make some noise and get some pro experience up there.

Another tidbit W-L record since 2011 (aka, recent memory): UNT 22-27 (16-7@home) SMU 21-29 (13-12@home) Neither of us have room to chest pound, except that our wins cost a lot less money.

I wonder if Sam Rice has a certain date circled in his calendar -

What's this about us being upset with SMU playing ArkSt? Can someone give me the tl;dr of that thread? It said SMU and Arkansas State in the title so I went back to working. Are we seriously concerned about SMU being able to land a SBC school, or is that their own takeaway? This thread is so meta.
