  1. lol you've pretty much described our QB recruiting the past couple (few?) years.
  2. I'm hoping it's part of the Patience Play
  3. boy he is way accurate. Good pocket presence, great vision and anticipation. Kind of reminds me of Bridgewater's moxy in college.
  4. When in doubt always check The Twitter.
  5. Wonder if his HS mascot is the Lioms.
  6. I thought the formula was throwing money at things = Good school But in all seriousness, first they were able to get that money/support. Not sure if we're there yet.
  7. The all around effort that UH Athletics has put forth to getting and putting up money. Leading to better branding, better coaches, better recruitment, better standards, etc, in a G5 environment.
  8. What about a player who had to leave, like Ochs? Does that open up a spot for a 2015 scholarship?
  9. I think the biggest ball drop is that there are no official photos of all the uniforms (helmet to shoe) posted up on Twitter or meangreensports.com. Or did I miss it somewhere?
  10. Does remind me of Marshall, but I'm digging these new unis. Helmet is not drastically different, but the change is really really good. Although I like old school unis, these are slick. The green and white that Buyers was wearing was my favorite combo.
  11. You mean like this?
  12. Ha that's worse than what we have now! I don't care where they're from. Texas, Tennessee, Florida...New Hampshire. But as I said before, just gimme an average-stat QB with this team, and it could turn more than a game or two in our favor. We have a talented receiver/rb core.
  13. OK maybe I'll tone it down and say 60% completion. Makes it top 50 in FBS. 7.5 is also top 50. I mean these are Washington State/Memphis/ArkSt/MTSU/AkState royalty we're talking about here. That's true and my point is, we just need an average FBS guy to win in CUSA. Upsets against P5s can come later. Gimme top 50 numbers, not #100.
  14. Give me this QB but who is accurate at the short and intermediate ranges, and can give 65%Comp and 7.5+ yards per pass attempt. That's really not asking for much. If he's from Tennessee, so be it. I just want to be able to pick apart MTSU, LaTech, Rice, etc, and balance it out with a great run game. We have the everything else in place. 2016 and beyond, a group of receivers consisting of Bradley, Dillman, Goree, Rutherford, Smiley is a great core to pair with Wilson/Ivery. Young o-line.
  15. Not true, but there's always craft beer gardens!
  16. This is beside the point, but I definitely would not say struggled. They could have easily been 5-3 in conference play, as they were 2-6. They played the top teams close. They couldn't finish games, but they didn't struggle.
  17. Maybe it was just too many decimals for UTSA.
  18. Time to start making some signs... Oh! I smell a sellout...
  19. I think the the ground and pound philosophy as a deterrent for QB prospects is hooey. The top dogs in the BIG 12 sure do pass a lot and sure do run a lot (pass around 40-50 a game, rush 40-50), and that's what we see in our region (on TV). But look at the Big 10 and CUSA (pass around 25-35- sometimes 40 and rush around 40-50). Monster lines and monster rushing attacks. That's what McCarney knows, and I'm ok with hard-nosed football. We just need an efficient (accurate) QB that can make quick decisions, and anticipate plays. We didn't rush enough and we couldn't pass enough because we couldn't stay on the field enough (see previous point). We don't have to run Air Coryell here. We've got the line size, and we've got the backs. Remember last year when we had a slightly heavier line than Arkansas? Pieces are in place, there's just one missing.
