CFB free agency - Don't hate the player, hate the game
Aldo replied to Aldo's topic in Mean Green Football
Do they not get a scholarship? Also, according to this, only 24% complete their degree, so they're only useful to the team during football season.- 6 replies

I'll take ODU over Easter Michigan and my wildcard pick will be FAU over Tulsa. I almost want to say FIU over UCF, but I'm not confident. Oh and thanks for the tl;dr

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13556664/oregon-vernon-adams-florida-state-everett-golson-reignite-graduate-transfer-discussion I'm for the graduate transfer rule, but there should be something in place that forces/enforces the student to complete a graduate degree.

Let's figure that one out in hindsight. Can never be too sure...

It’s time for a MGB tradition — Get Your Rear on the Record
Aldo replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
SMU's offensive 2-deep might change after dealing with that Baylor d-line for 60 minutes. I might pull a quad just watching it on ESPN. Although that could happen when I'm making a sandwich. -
That's what I thought about Indiana last year. They were awful, especially on D. But we couldn't take advantage.

Texas A&M Paying UNT $1.25 Million for 2020 Game
Aldo replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Has anyone mentioned that maybe, just maybe, teams like A&M, UT, or OU have zero interest in playing in Apogee? It's not fear about an upset, but there's no money in it for them. -

My money is adamantly on the second half of the Iowa game. -

I think it's going to be a fun shootout against Rice and it'll be close. If we can keep the run game contained, we got it. It could also be a shootout against WKU, but one that we won't keep up with. -
Xavier Scott - RB from Denton High School

I'd tag him as an early down workhorse. I like his footwork and vision in between the tackles. Decisive, downhill runner. Agile enough to take angles away from defenders in the hole. If he can get up to 220 in college, he'd be hard work to bring down. Haven't had a bruising in between the tackles runner since Byrd. This kid's got plenty of potential. -
lol. I was tentless, so I had to have one to keep the kid out of the sun. At least, that's what I keep telling the wife.

Like I tried to imply earlier, it's not about the video itself. This local business doesn't have to tailgate, nor throw their support behind North Texas football. Yet they are. And they are so freaking excited about it that they flew a drone and made a video about it.

I bought one of these puppies there yesterday. Let the tailgating festivities begin [in 12 days]!

I think folks are sleeping on USM in the same way other folks are sleeping on us. Although my gut says 5-7, I will go with a hopeful 6-6 to at least get us to bowl eligibility. In the words of Larry the Cable Guy, "I belieeeeeeeve..." -
I don't have any info other than what was tweeted but here are some videos. My guess is they are going through the walk on program. - Christian Flewellan, ArkSt TE, 5'11" 230lbs. Could be used as FB, short yardage back, gimmick play red zone receiver http://www.hudl.com/athlete/87948/highlights/7814381/v2 - Kyle Mealey, Austin Bowie HS, G, 6'2" 308lbs. Not my area, but kid is big. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2799843/highlights/125779377/v2 - Derris Prater, Copperas Cove HS, WR, 6'1" 173lbs. Talked a little about him on the Zac Whitfield thread. Plays strong. Has 4.4 speed (according to Hudl), but I see him more like a possession receiver. Good hands. Apparently only played in 3 games his senior season. https://youtu.be/l2Q0Ef3eZp4 - Nick Weideman, McKinney Christian Varsity, DE/RB, 6'3" 200lbs. Our website lists him at LB. Hits hard. Needs to eat a sammich. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3105085/nick-weideman

Kinda reminds me of Thaddeus in his aggression and strength towards the ball. Nice repertoire of moves too. Plucks the ball right out of the air. His run blocking looks awesome. Hope someone steps up this year to fill Darius Terrell's run blocking prowess.

Their 2015 class was great, but I don't think they'll reap the benefits right away, since the recruit cycle before that was so limited (due to the number of seniors). I highly doubt we will ever see anything from that Michigan QB. Driskel will be the new transfer we'll all be dreading.

T&F fields pretty decent teams every year that have a shot at individual titles in NCAA meets. I mean, football has tryouts every year too.

You're thinking/arguing superficially. It's deeper than that.

UTSA is going to be one of the worst teams in FBS this year. How many original kids did they graduate?
