  2. That seems...counterintuitive
  3. Bonnette and Veal were both eating up targets against Cam. Once J'Mar Smith realized Hall was out (he didn't even look that way for a drive or two after Hall exited), they started picking on Cam and continued to do so vs Jordan Roberts. But they gave Roberts help behind him (they had kept Johnson on an island), and it eased off the pressure on Roberts allowing him make plays over there. It still took the coaches until the second half to figure this out, though.
  4. I get it. He's not using his head. He'll not fair catch a ball when it's at the 30, but he tries it at the 5. Can't be afraid of the ball or he needs better awareness. But it's all about practice. Once the ball is securely in his hands, though, he gives us better field position than anyone else.
  5. Darden is our best punt returner period. Through 5 games and last season, no one else has as many long punt returns over 20 yards as Darden and ODU's Darrell Brown in Conference USA. He averaged the most yards per return last season on the team, and would be leading this season if it weren't for Brewer's Arkansas return. Let him work it out. He's a sophomore. We'll continue to see him as a punt returner.
  6. Lock the gates cause Canales is going to want to sneak out before it's over 2,191-9 revenge game
  7. Bro. Is this @Harry a UNT94 burner account
  8. In 2.5 quarters, Easly ran 118 yards on em. Imagine what UAB will do.
  9. He was suited up and warming up on Saturday vs LaTech along with the other QBs
  10. Woke up today and wouldn't you know it North Texas is still 4-1
  11. I think Deandre Torrey will be able to handle much of what Easly was doing and Smith is still and agile in-between-the-tackles runner. As far as the trucking ability goes, Torrey comes the closest.
  12. While it sucks (I left 30 minutes after 0:00 and still took 30 minutes to exit the lot) I love it! The more the merrier, let's just make campfires and sing kumbaya next time because we won't be as grumpy when we win our next home game. Sure the layout could be improved with another exit point (and a widening of Bonnie Brae that won't begin for another year or more) but I say let's break the attendance record one mo time and win out the rest of the home slate.
  13. Slow going early, but we roll late 42-28
  14. Didn't the North Texas band march onto the field vs Incarnate Word or was I not seeing it right? I got there right at kickoff for the SMU game so I didn't get to see anything for that pregame.
  15. But I get it. It's the main entrance to the stadium, even though 75% of people probably enter through the other side. Eventually everything else will build up along the Bonnie Brae side so it'll be the face to athletics.
  16. Marching band and team does its entrance on the blue lot/student side
  17. I guess a followup would be when does the school and player break even? Play for us and we will give you a degree. Bowl berths, CFP appearances/wins, conference championships, sales revenues - are those extra incentives that go beyond the I'll pay you with a degree if you play for us agreement?
  18. I live along 380 and that place is still very much under contruction at DNT. It only just depends on traffic and the time you leave. Check google maps before you head out @Green Mean.
  19. Oh dang, glad they're redoing it. Didn't feel done. Also reminds me, I was over at the stadium on Thursday and Bonnie Brae has been resurfaced. Much smoother drive, and there's like an extra 4-6 inches of asphalt (for now) on either side of the road. So luxurious.
  20. Yeah it can back up leading up to 288, but once you get north of there, you fly since the speed limit is now 65-70. Also for any blue lot people, after all these years I discovered I could exit at North Texas (coming from the south) and get to the blue lot that way. Mind blown.
  21. Underpass at Loop 288 South of Apogee at I35-E. They're still finishing up 35express construction there, which ends at 380. Loop 288 north is an overpass at I35.
  22. Oh I just reread your title @MEANGREENCOACH2 Loop 288 will be closed at 35. Specifically the underpass. 35 will not be shut down
  23. Dang ODU earned the spotlight this week
