  1. Not sure how we can get the RV supporters to understand: He does some of his job well vis a vis infrastructure improvements. He doesn't improve MGC numbers. He doesn't improve season ticket numbersHe hasn't had winning programs in the Big $3His scheduling has been poorWhy won't big donors question that? The next time they have lunch with him, ask, hey bruh, what's up with dem MGC numbers? We expect better. It's your job to raise money, RV, not us donors.
  2. RV's job entails much more than just building and fundraising
  3. I love our new facilities, I love not being in the SBC. No doubt about it. I'm not okay being ranked dead last in football, ranked in the 200s in Men's bball, and I-don't-know-what in women's basketball. We can do better. I know we can. Despite what RV has built - a new football stadium, the athletic complex - he has not created winning Big 3 programs at North Texas. He has brought in major donors, and used their money to improve the athletic infrastructure. Depending on these big money donors is unsustainable. Haven't they stopped to ask, why can't you raise enough funds from the general population over 15 years to renovate an old locker room? He needs to develop a bigger funding base across the metroplex. He hasn't been able to create a significant money base with us regular folk in nearly 15 years and tens (hundreds?) of thousands of graduates. What have his hires done to the big 3 programs? The big donors can't be the only ones carrying this school along. RV needs to increase MGC membership and he hasn't done that. RV has to create winning Big 3 programs and he hasn't done that. He has built a solid infrastructure on the big donors' backs that he hasn't been able to use successfully. Let someone else furnish the house RV built. And major donors? Thank you for the facilities, they're effing nice. Seriously. Our club level rivals Spartan Stadium's. You have gotten a nice return on your investment. Us little guys donate what we can, we just don't see the return in our investment.
  4. Who cares about Texas State. We are currently winless in an average league, with one of the nicest stadiums in the G5 region.
  5. I feel you take the RV criticisms personally. Especially when your responses to us plebeians are so patronizing. Remember, we - the minority - are criticizing the administration for doing only half their job, not the donors. The donors have put their money where their mouth is, and what has it gotten them? A nice stadium with no one in it. A football team that is losing at historical levels. An administration that can't get it rolling when they've been given all of these resources by you folks. You guys have given them MILLIONS, with the "if we build it they will come" promise. And they let you down.
  6. There it is. Are they though? We're in the same spot in football we were a decade ago.
  7. I think the word you're looking for is condescending/domineering @flyonthewall is establishing either that 1) they are aware of your letters or 2) they are aware of your letters and are using them to light their cigars.
  8. Typically 1 or 2 people in URCM receive the prez e-mails first either to filter, or respond themselves with a form letter. I feel like as a group, the office must have decided to just forward these on to RV. URCM dept handles any president communication. If it's a letter from the president, it's probably written by someone in URCM (unless it's for something really significant, ie not monthly newsletter). While it doesn't constitute a privacy issue, it does seem to me that the forwarding of the e-mails straight to RV either A) the office finds it not worth the president's time or B) the president finds it not worth his time and wants RV to fix it himself.
  9. I will say this about Cosh, the improvement between the k-state defense (Cosh's defense) we faced and k-state's next season under Cosh was major. I'm grasping for positivity, so there's that.
  10. Harry brings up a good point about Smith's ball dispersal. I think part of it was how the game flowed. The work that DSmith and Wilson were doing in the run game began to open up Goree and Kidsy downfield. DSmith may have a reticence to throw to the middle of the field.
  11. Ah I forgot about that INT. That was a throw he shouldn't have made. iirc it was short and the receiver was well covered. He is going to make a lot of mistakes, but this was his first FBS experience and he needs to get in a groove. He looked like he had the jitters during much of the first half. hopefully he can use this game going forward to settle down.
  12. Oh and 4 passing TDs. Over 300 yards of offense. Any INTs?
  13. "UNT made a change in having coordinator Chris Cosh in the box with defensive line coach Kevin Patrick on the sideline calling in signals." Ah that answers my Patrick-in-the-lime-green-shirt question.
  14. 82 is Dre Bradley. I love this dude. He is so fast and so smoove. True freshman. Can't wait for him to get more reps at WR.
  15. This offense is a lot more exciting. During the long TD pass to Kidsy I think I read the entirety of The Odyssey and ran to the bathroom while the ball was in the air. The o-line needs to give him more time.
  16. 1. The secondary is extremely young and raw. But they have speed and talent. They need time to develop and I think they'll be able to develop into a good unit down the road. 2. Offense is a different animal. Going downfield more. We were able to move the ball, inexperience kept showing. A lot of mistakes but got to learn. 3. Was Kevin Patrick in the lime green shirt leading the defense?? D-Line needs to improve. 4. DSmith and Wilson rushing tandem opened up the play action. Goree open downfield a lot. DSmith needs to shake off the rust and jitters and put some touch on that ball in the intermediate range. 5. #Hit2016
