I don't know about that. No one but Bill Synder has been successful at K-State. And Bill got the ball rolling by raiding the JUCO ranks more than his P5 brethren did. He would be foolish not to take that into account. Now KSU is not a bad job by any stretch of the imagination. But it is a middle tier program that will be looking to move on from you as a head coach if you don't get to a Big 12 championship game in 4 years. And no matter how great you are in the Big 12 until you get to the playoff you will be at a disadvantage recruiting against conference foes Texas and OU. So looking at that next level of recruits you are just on equal footing with Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, West Virginia, and Oklahoma State. The only programs you have a distinct recruiting advantage over are Iowa State and Kansas. I prefer to see him go to program with a little more clout and history of success.

Great and for all those who can't afford to go,we need to make a donation to the program. Even if is just around the $100 you had budgeted for a local bowl game. -

All the CUSA match ups kind of suck. UAB had a great season. They receiced a lot national press for comming from a shuttered program 2 years ago to conference champs. Reward? App State in the New Orleans Bowl? This "upgrade" to CSUA looks worse each year. I really believe that regional realignment deal between Sun Belt and CUSA makes sense now. -

Players leaving the state to play at USU mostly likely weren't considered good enough to contribute at Big 12 Texas schools or Texas A&M. Now those evaluations might have been wrong but I seriously doubt any of those guys would have been a fit at UNT. -

I don't think it bitching not to see the value in this bowl game. 1. Program won't get a perception boast by winning and will take a bigger hit if we lose. 2. We don't recruit against Utah State. So an appearance against them means nothing 3. Most fans can't afford to go 4. Getting the least amount of practice time. -
I think Texas Tech wants to move on from having a head coach from the "pure air raid" coaching tree. I don't think it had anything to do with anything else. Even if our team went 11-2 with conference title and Bowl game win I think they would be a little reluctant. 1. With those this on his resume an agent is asking Tech for 3.5 per million salary (or more) and a large coaching staff budget. 2. If Seth lives up to the unreasonable expectations in Lubbock he leaves for a better job within 5 years. I don't see Tech trying to bring in a pro style offense. However they want Air Raid with some wrinkles (maybe even a limited QB under center package) and much better defense. It will be very interesting if Les Miles is successful at Kansas. Because that might inspire copy cats moving away from the spread in the Big 12. Who knows maybe he will open up his offense more and get some balance

Even for TV viewership it seems weird. 12:30 on a Wednesday is not exactly a programing block that generates high revenue. A 3:30 pm kick would be better. That way crunchtime for the game should be around 6:00 pm a better program block.

Anyone else hate Texas A&M? I mean before I hated the more than the Longhorns for their inferiority complex and false bravado. They seem to believe they are an elite program but they aren't and have not been in the national championship conversation in over 35 years. Yet they act they are supposed to be the state of Texas favorite FBS level team. Then you have classiness like this. WowTexas A&M fan punches former LSU coach Even more classiness Texas A&M Tailgate Area Assault -
What disappoints me the most is that this defensive squad is probably better than next year's defense. If I had told anyone before the season our defense would allow more than 30 points twice this year a win one of those games they would expect a Division Championship at the very least. This team missed a golden opportunities. Win against La Tech, the Southern Miss gave is probably a sellout. That would have been huge for the program. I don't know what the rules are but I definitely would not have been surprised if one of the local broadcast stations would have picked up the rights to one of the remaining games if we had gotten to 7-0. Yes 9-3 is a really good season but opportunities like this season presented rarely come around. And that goes for also all college football programs outside of the historically elite. I hope I am proven wrong about the defense. I don't see the offense improving much cause I am not aware of any great potential OL reinforcements next year.

I really don't think the Mean Green is that team. Consistently shown that they struggle with teams that come to play and aren't shocked by their offense. -

I am not sure how good our team is. This is pattern we can't break. And if I were at P5 program that would give me pause before handing him the keys too my program. The offense is feast or famine not steady. -
If Seth and selected staff don't get a HUGE raise to leave for Tech I will be very disappointed if he leaves. Tech is not a good job. Medicore program in the worse P5 conference. I think you can upgrade from a stronger performance at UNT to some of the better P5 programs.

I think running from the QB position is an essential part of maxing out this offense. Fine is too small to make as many attempts as you need to keep the defense honest. Plus he doesn't have the speed to scare defense. The problem is that Fine is by far your best option to do everything else required of the position. Makes me even more excited to see Bean down the road.

Yes by rule as I understand them he should have been ejected. The guy that turned his head did nothing wrong IMO

No adjustments and Surprise highly contested passes intercepted. I have seen this show before.

What is wrong with kicking a FG to get the lead back for halftime? The team's lack of composure when an opponent with nearly equal or better athletes starts making a few plays is disturbing. Week to week you need your team to maintain (if they are playing winning football)or get better. I haven't seen that for weeks. The wins have been shaky too.

I don't know if I agree. But one this is for sure this team needs an attitude adjustment. They get up in games and think they are better than they are. They disrespect themselves and their opponents and that manifests itself in unsportsmanlike penalties. Every one of these second half meltdowns have featured after whistle penalties. The fake FG reeked of desperation and not having confidence in your team to play smart football to finish the game. That is HORRIBLE coaching. Seth has recruited great and brought in a great offense. Next year it will be all his guys. If we see this kind of consistent unsportsmanlike BS 2019 then 2020 he needs to be in the hot seat. -

Consistent second half undisciplined play and even Fine throws off target also in the second half of games. -

Are people actually downvoting this comment. That was display reminded me of some last games of Dan McCarney's tenure. It was beyond selfish and immature and you can't win as a team doing that. No 4 is a starter upperclassmen. You have sit guys like that to send a message to the rest of the team. You don't lead like that. -

These second half meltdown are just disgusting. Undisciplined penalties are just inexcusable. This has to fixed next season if they are going to win CUSA. -
Do we have Liquid Gold in the QB Talent Pipeline?
Mike Jackson replied to Mike Jackson's topic in Mean Green Football
I really think these guys are better prospects than most of the QB's recruited in the last decade. They all seem to have played with highschool teams that went deep into the playoffs. Bean is my pick because he has the best combination raw tools to work with. If he beefs up the sky is the limit. Also I think with the apparent lack of talented freshmen and sophomore lineman designed runs for the QB will be needed. Having a QB that is threat to take to the house 50+ yards if you crash too hard on the running back does wonders. One of these guys should pan out.
