  1. I really appreciate your support in Houston. If the leadership won’t thank you by making smart move at least I can tell my fellow alum THANK YOU for your support.
  2. Exactly we have enough data on this QB and this head coach. Seth should have been fired at the end of last season. Minimally Wren should have told Seth if you start Aune after bringing in Ruder and Gunnell your leash will be very short if Aune doesn’t perform well. I don’t think Seth was told that hence he will be on the sidelines in Memphis. And to me that it is ridiculous you expect fans to pay to see stale garbage. No hope or drama here anymore unless 5 wins this season is the standard you had in mind before game 1.
  3. This is all the more infuriating. All the data pointed to him being a mediocre coach who will never duplicate his success he had with Mason Fine falling in his lap. And it is why he should have NEVER started this season as head coach. A 5 game winning streak capped off my losing badly to a mediocre Miami of Ohio essentially at home doesn’t swing his career numbers above 0.500. Like I said before bringing him bad was disrespectful to everyone who doesn’t view Seth as member of their family. I don't care what you do at this point. Bring a 40 something successful highschool HC for 500k right NOW. Let him bring 2 Coordinators with him but make them position coaches. Retain the best recruiting coordinator from the current staff. Spend the rest of the season trying to build relationships with current players with talent and eligibility left. And build a coach recruiting board throughout the year forecasting what good assistance coaches not quite ready to be FBS coaches will be available. Figure out if their coaching philosophy is in sync with the new head coach and make offers as soon as they are officially available. But hell I will take Coach Canales at this point. He might be able to get a QB here to throw 60% completions at least.
  4. He threw 2 INT in a blowout loss and completed less than 60% of his throws. They weren’t playing a P5 team in a packed stadium. They were playing UNLV a program that hadn’t been to a bowl since 2014. A UNLV with a fanbase starving for 6 win season.
  5. Yes I did. But that doesn’t wipe away of a CAREER of throwing 55% completions. And in this great game he had, he completed an awe inspiring 58.6% in a blowout loss. 🙄. He just isn’t accurate or he has one of the worse OC in the country and/or receivers who can’t run routes correctly. Also he is adept (or they aren’t calling) read option plays. It appears he never takes the edge when they start crashing consistently. 🤷🏽‍♂️
  6. This is EXACTLY why Wren should be on the hot seat. He gave Seth that second extension knowing the finances here are not strong when Football is subpar. We cannot afford to overpay for mediocrity. And giving a raise and extension to a coach that hasn’t won anything significant is doing just that. We couldn’t afford a “punt” year going into the AAC. In my opinion they chose to ruin 2 seasons by betting on dead horse Seth Littrell for 2022. Now any coach short of an guy that is already on his way to legendary status in going to struggle in 2023. That royally pisses me off! 🤬
  7. The only spot where there was a significant athletic talent gap was at QB. (That isn’t the first time we have seen that this season nor last). Now my evaluation might be wrong but I have believe in it because otherwise I may make an out of character drunken midnight call to Wren Baker curse him out for not firing Seth. If a 2nd year coach at rebuilding UNLV is out recruiting the “longest tenured FBS coach in the state of Texas” it highlights how ridiculous our situation is here at UNT. If he isn’t a good recruiter then I don’t know what he does/did well enough not to get fired in January 2022 or before.
  8. But South Alabama has the city of Mobile all to itself. I mean we have to compete in this market to get fans...(or use whatever tired 🍑 reused regurgitated excuse that it appeared on this forum). You know what excuses no longer exist; bad facilities and low coach pay. I am reminded of that reality every time I spend money at Apogee because my pocket book feels it. Like I said from the beginning I really feel like everyone that is keeping their UNT Football spending at the same level or higher this year is doing the program a disservice. They gave all Football fans without an unwarranted affinity for Seth a 🖕bringing him back for a budget recalibration year. ( I prefer punt year but let’s use lingo that addresses the reality). There were Zero, Nada, None, No, 0 football reasons to bring him back. I have the odd luck of having a couple friends who have no connection to UNT who want hang out for a game this year for laughing entertainment not to see thrilling competitive football. Otherwise I would not waste the money and gas to drive north to Denton this year again.
  9. Stats? You mean career 55% completions? He really lit it up today at 56.6% and +300 yards. You know part of the reason we ended up in those 4 and 1 situations? Aune isn't trusted on 3rd down and Opposing defenses know it.
  10. I don't see 5 more wins on this schedule. I am confident (if the team hasn't quit on the coaching staff by then) we beat Rice. Health of key starters on both sides guaranteed I give us better than 50% shot to beat FIU and La Tech. And my La Tech opinion could change once they play a G5 team to see where they are athletically. I just don't see 5 more wins. 5 wins this season I what I expect. They might eek out a 6th win.
  11. You are in no danger of having to revisit this pledge.
  12. 🤔 now what was I saying about a second half blowout. 🤷🏽‍♂️
  13. He is currently at 58% completions. If he stay above his consistent 55% if they chose to pass next drive I will be surprised.
  14. One kick return is not going to prevent a blowout. Get ready for that in second half.
  15. I think Seth is trying to get fired now.
  16. I don’t want to get blackout drunk. 😂
  17. No if that salary put us in a year 7 mediocre coach bind. If a coach with head coaching experience comes in here as a proven recruiter within this area fine. But if you bring in a first time head coach midrange for AAC conference salary is appropriate.
  18. If y’all could buy relevance the attendance would never be below 30k. 🤣 Ford Stadium with 32k capacity averages less than 28k per game. I would do the math and figure out how low but I prefer to be generous and not factor in MANY games with under 25k. I suggest you get off this board and figure ways to make and spend more money on trying to catch TCU. Then maybe you can hang on to a good coach a little longer.
  19. Best of luck to those guys but this is a zero star topic for me. I don’t fault them for going to leaving. Not happy about it but with this mediocre coach you can expect this to happen often. Starters on teams competing for conference titles are not usually leaving your program. 🤷🏽‍♂️
  20. SMU Boosters aren’t stupid. If SMU is floundering and still in the AAC with us they aren’t throwing money away. They will always support the program financially but finding SMU fans to sit in those seats if the program is bad will be hard. So if they have anymore than 40% SMU fans and SMU isn’t coming off a great season I will be shocked.
  21. If they knew that a mediocre coach with zero trophies with an overall record of sub 0.500 against FBS competition wouldn’t be starting season 7. 🤷🏽‍♂️ It is pointless to worry about any other geographical G5 rival getting the house in order when our leadership doesn’t clean its own house.
  22. Think I prefer the white pants with white jerseys.
  23. Absolutely staying at program for over 10 years is an anomaly. This is part of the reason coaches have contracts. I think everyone has come to conclusion in hindsight that Seth getting bought out by KSU would likely have been better than him staying. I wasn’t in favor of the second raise and extension. Conservative midrange salaries for the conference is the standard here until you actually win the conference. There is huge untapped financial potential here if this program goes on UTSA like streak 🤮. Sorry I had to puke after saying that but it is the truth. Then maybe you could money whip a coach into staying longer and turn him into a “Patterson”. But that isn’t the priority. Coaching here is a great opportunity
  24. Absolutely! And I hope from now on that everyone who cares enough to talk about Mean Green Football talks with expectations of a quality G5 program. This is a quality program, with a nice stadium and facilities that we are continuously improving. We can roll back expectations and criticisms of mediocrity when they roll back the prices of parking, concessions and merchandise. I don’t see that happening.
  25. Well someone in another thread talked about "perspective". But if you like that you will love this
