McMurphy projecting UNT vs. Boise in Frisco bowl
Mike Jackson replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
2/3 Boise State Fans. Boise State will destory a Seth coached Mean Green Team. I will contribute to a fund to send students to the game but this program is a joke right now compared to the other athletic programs at UNT.- 45 replies

Exactly, what I thought.

You are probably right but that may hamper the success he would have otherwise here. That will impact recruiting decisions and the assist coaches he could get to staff here. I think some of the current coaching staff they may want to keep would leave including some in the Athletic Department.
-
It isn't about that unfortunately, I don't want the bad optics. Maybe if I got a guarantee no player(s) do anything henious while he is here I would be behind it. I don't want UNT to take the risk how ever minimal you believe they are. I would take Baby Briles happily.

Now I know why you have “crazy” in your name. You are assuming the QB’s riding the bench this year are better than Aune. Almost all games FBS vs FBS are "winnable" tha is why we watch them. With Seth at the helm and a QB on par with Aune or worse we will only be favored in 3 of those games you listed barring catastrophes at Memphis, UAB, and Tulsa. The line against Navy is 100% unpredictable they just plug and play the best midshipmen athletes available. If they are smart, highly displined and get a few guys with speed in the right positions they punch way above their weight. We will likely be favored only against Temple, ACU, and La Tech. And what is Seth going to do to fix the defense if he is still here? If the defense regresses even more we are looking at Mac's last year here.

Interesting in that I think it will be a flash and dash if Deion is lucky. He isn’t stay long if somewhat successful. Also I think Colorado is one those programs in the middle of the country you can’t keep near the top.
-
There are lines I wouldn’t want UNT to cross to win and this is one of them. If we have great success under Briles and ANY impropriety is discovered (warranted or supremely exaggerated) the NCAA will destroy our small program that doesn’t have a history of caring about FBS level Football deeply. I want to experience another conference title that isn’t vacated and before I go to the Club seats in the sky.

Why can’t Jarod Mosley be our AD?
Mike Jackson replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Football
Man I couldn’t agree more. And the reverse is true here also. Look how Dickey was handled. He wasn’t the ‘glad handed get along guy’ so he got fired him freshly recovering from something that could have killed him. No thought or consideration of the circumstances and the heir apparent QB dying impact on the team performance. (And we have a practice facility named after him)Yet I hear every ridiculous excuse and propping up Seth’s very meager accomplishments here. It’s infuriating. It irrational and emotional way of doing business that is rarely successful. Nothing will be named after Seth if he is let go at the end of 2023. -
Nothing after that should matter, he isn’t good here and likely will never be. Cut bait now.

Dude do you really think lame duck BELOW 0.500 against FBS competition Seth & company is going to be able retain and/or attract good players considering the transfer portal? 🤣. They will be bargain basement shopping and maybe “get lucky” getting a talented player with a bad locker room reputation.
-
Similar to last year right? Always an excuse to hang on to a mediocre coach around here. Based on what? WHATEVER they do 2023 is going to be a 💩 show. I say start preparing for 2024 as soon as possible. What good recruits or transfers with more than 1 year of eligibility left coming to play for a lame duck coach with a below 0.500 record? What the hell is a coach that is going to be fired mid season next year salvaging of value for the 2024 team?
-
Apparent there are a few big money donorS that are perfectly fine with that. I am not one to tell people how to waste their money but it’s dam confusing to me how they enjoy sitting in a stadium with 6A high school attendance numbers (actually counting buts in seats). How are they going to sell higher priced club level seats next year? I notice it appears the club seats no longer appear on the exchanges. I sure as hell wouldn’t be paying for club seats if I knew there was no way to mitigate the wasted money from games I don’t want to go to later in the year cause they are mediocre or just plain bad.
-
If they hit six wins it will be because a QB that should have started this year gets a chance and accomplishes the virtually impossible; 60% completions and 3-1 TD to Int ratio. (according the Aune supporters).
-
So painful being 100% correct sometimes. Can we now all agree the weather aided win over UTSA last year was a fluke? I forgive all the fans that fell for it. But please believe us next time (hopefully there will never be another time we are so right in regards to a coach staying here too long). Now with our stadium, brand new facilities, and higher revenue conference our floor is higher than its ever been. So a coach having a 0.350 winning percentage as his floor means nothing here. I will hate it for the players getting bulldozed by Air Force but I absolutely want a blow out to force this inept leadership to make a move.

I out do you I will show up with an prepaid UberXL Luxury dressed in a tuxedo with white gloves with one those fancy envelopes with our university emblem on it on a sliver platter. Dismissal letter will be inside with directions on how to contact the prepaid movers to clean out his office. I will refrain from dancing like the sandman from amateur night at the Apollo. The petty younger version of me might have done the dance.

Yep, a lot of these possibly ‘’upset that Seth is leaving’’ weren’t good enough to win a division title in a CUSA that is weaker than the conference we are going to. You think there is a max exodus if a coach with too good a resume for UNT show up? There are a lot of good coaches that wouldn’t turn down 2.5 million per year.
-
Stop piling on Aune. He didn’t have the power to make this coaching staff not develop another QB that was better than him. I think his inadequacy really shows us how mediocre Seth is as an offensive coach. Arguably we have the best offensive line and CUSA. So when you can beat down teams in the run game and throw long bombs at over a 50% completion clip you are golden. Defense a few stops and maybe one turnover you don’t need much else. Aune at this point in the season deserves very little blame. He played like he usually does around 55%. He has just 2 of those dropped passed completed he is right on target for 55%. A couple of those completions get him those big yards in yet another loss. Every objective fan who doesn’t partake in the green kool aide knew in the back of their mind what Aune was going to do. The only question was would UTSA allow Seth to coach around that deficiency. They didn’t so Aune throws 3-4 Interceptible balls and they grab two that count. Roll him out for 2023 if Seth is still here. I sincerely believe Seth will ruin the next UNT QB starter if he remains. Either way I won’t be at Apogee to watch it. Not worth the drive.

Hope you like an empty Apogee. Excuses more excuses while programs with fewer resources and tougher circumstances kick our ass regularly. If I were school president I would push shutdown this program or drop it down to FCS if I thought like you.

Nope cause I am listening to the post game and I haven’t heard about his resignation or dismissal. They craft a situation where a 3 win season in the AAC win end this mercifully for Seth, his family/friends, coaching staff and nobody else. Mercy for fans and alumni would have been after the lost to Miami Ohio.

If you think the right direct is a small amplitude sine wave along 0.500 line you would be correct. (Can you tell I am an Electronics Engineering graduate?).

A week later; under 30 points 7-6 headed to bowl game they will likely lose if the other team has a decent defense and QB. 🤷🏽♂️ . I have completely run out of things way to say Seth & Aune are mediocre at best. Might as well quote myself and save some time.

Who begged that short wearing coach to come out of retirement and fix a defense that was probably still better today than they were back then? .....oh as I am writing this Aune throws another short pass to a covered WR. IN A DOME no wind.
