  1. End of that game took forever like ours.
  2. Yet both of their teams were wearing their colors and we were wearing our garbage bags! 👀
  3. It'd be nice to have some more basketball at The Pit, but I was thinking before the game what if we pulled off a Texas Rangers road warriors type of run en route to a second consecutive NIT 'ship?
  4. Didn't even touch him.
  5. Edwards is throwing this game. Five missed FTs.
  6. How is the review possibly taking this long?
  7. May have jinxed this.
  8. Shout out to the refs in the game. Maybe it's the green Kool aid talking, but this game is going to run well under 2 hours. That's good when that happens.
  9. Another fun run of Mean Green basketball! And that weird *thud* noise the goal makes on a made three is oddly satisfying.
  10. Don't like that we didn't score after that LSU timeout. Would have been nice to take a double-digit lead into the half. Can't let them get any momentum at all in the second.
  11. That was the most fun stretch of Mean Green basketball all season. Love the work being done on the offensive board. Keep it up!!
  12. After successful group outings during the men's basketball season at SMU and Rice, we're looking forward to getting a crowd to support our softball ladies next Tuesday the 26th in Arlington at 6 p.m. against UTA. I know for a lot of people like me, Arlington's easier to get to than Denton. Right now, if you are interested in going, let me know. I have an offer from an assistant coach to be put on the pass list for free entry. I don't have clarity yet on how many people can be put on the pass list, but normal admission is $10 - so group tickets would be even less.

  13. No midweek nonconference bout this week. Straight into a home series with Tulsa. We are two of four AAC teams tied atop the conference standings at 5-1, along with FAU and Charlotte. As of now, any inclement weather is supposed to wait until after the last game Sunday, so come out to Lovelace!
  14. I would love to know if you've actually heard anything of substance like this, but even now I wouldn't be surprised. At least SMU has given us games in women's basketball over the past, and of course football. I'd be curious to know the last time TCU voluntarily played us in any sport. I remember in 2018 we hosted TCU in the "NIT" of volleyball. That game irked me. TCU won in five sets after an unimaginable purple-requested stoppages of play to wipe the floor anytime UNT got momentum and the building got loud.
  15. Here's the full bracket. We're the unofficial 6 seed in our quadrant. We could theoretically host Georgia Tech in the second round if they beat Mississippi State. Looks like George Mason is the only team we could host in the third round unless there were other venue conflicts.
  16. Speaking of Xavier (and earlier K-State), nice to see it's still all love between the former Mean Green.
  17. Me neither. There's what, 80+ programs in the P6 conferences alone? They can't all be contenders. Mathematically many will have down years every year. Everyone should be excited for postseason ball. Bringing back the NIT Final Four to MSG I think would be a good first step in regaining some prestige with the tournament. Doubt many "general basketball fans" watched the games in Vegas last year.
  18. Maybe some of the older folks here who are hiding some UNT almanacs can correct me as Sports Reference is missing our history from 1923-1957 (I think those were the years). To add onto our record attendance year: This is our first ever stretch of seven straight winning seasons Postseason ball in four straight years Assuming Hodge continues to work out, this'll be the first time we've had consecutive head coaches with winning records at UNT
  19. If anyone wants to go, the whole arena appears to be general admission. The group rate starts at 20 people. That lowers the price per ticket from $16 to $10. I've already got about 8-10 in my circle that we're trying to grow.
  20. Me too, because I guess Headband CJ wasn't magical enough to lead us to a conference title.
  21. I didn't even catch that. Wow. But apparently the CollegeInsiders.com Tournament is a thing again. I don't think they've released their teams either. That's supposed to be a 16-team tournament.
  22. Tuesday at 6pm. Be there and be loud!!
  23. If it were on a weekend I'd go... I wonder if any of Aaron or Rubin's extended families can make the 4-hour trip. Need some Mean Green representation!
  24. We will try! It takes 20 for a group discount. I'm emailing tomorrow to see if they'll offer group discounted tickets for that game. Tickets for adults are currently $16.
