  1. Maybe since no one predicted them to win the division, they'll win it all this year. Like the Mavs in 2011.
  2. Maybe Rick is actually opening his eyes that Benford may not have been the best hire. And he intentionally gives us a relatively crappy nonconference schedule to see if Benny will fold!
  3. But no preseason (nonconference) tourneys? Well then maybe some Denton folks will get a little excited about it... if they know about it.
  4. By as late as the end of my junior year in high school (2013), I did not even want to go to college. But one of my best friends was planning on going to UNT and told me to look into it. I went up to Denton for the first time in August of that year, decided I wanted to be an RTVF Major, and was accepted by January. I followed the football team from Day 1 in 2013 starting with the Idaho Potatoes. What a great time to get accepted to UNT! Unfortunately, 2014 was not a repeat of 2013 and my best friend didn't even end up going to UNT. However, I plan on making my mark by repacking the Super Pit again.
  5. Rangers win tonight, Astros lose. Rangers 81-69 Astros 80-72
  6. Bigger rivalry with LA Tech starting in 2016-17?
  7. As a sophomore at UNT, I am obviously less knowledgeable when it comes to the Mean Green's [sports] history and hope to improve a lot on that while I'm here, so have we ever thrown this Mean Green Showcase thing before? We host Idaho, Samford, and Troy Nov. 23-25 in the four-team tournament. I would assume Troy is the better of the three, so if we take the first two, maybe that will generate a good crowd for the Troy game? Anyways, I was hoping some people would know more information about this and if we have done this before.
  8. I actually wish we could see him with the Mavericks as a backup guy behind Chandler Parsons.
  9. Haven't we learned to stay away from names ending with "-nulty"?? Anywho, I'm still pumped for the basketball season. As of right now, we're undefeated in 2015-16. Made it to 9 of the 17 home games and not many other students can say that. But I actually plan on making more this year, especially since I have an apartment and won't be back home for all of Christmas Break.
  10. A good team would have more than one non-garbage time TD against a team whose secondary is as bad as Rice's.
  11. Cowboys Week 1... WR injured Cowboys Week 2... QB injured Cowboys Week 3... ?? injured Let's hope the RBs especially Lance can stay healthy.
  12. You can't be considered a P5 team if you didn't beat SMU in 2014 in my opinion... Just saying.
  13. 3-9 After a whooping at Iowa, Mac gets things into gears and the Mean Green shock everybody by taking a game on the road (What!!?!!?!??) in Hattiesburg, then a week later uses the homefield advantage to get to 2-3, and now everybody believes the team will win out, only to win one more game the rest of the way. I say that is UTSA, Mac finally gets that pesky first win over UTSA and he is off the hot seat, according to UNT's standards.
  14. You may be lucky to not go four games under. Iowa 45 North Texas 10 Trailing 45-3, Mac is finally pressured to putting in DaMarcus Smith. We get a garbage time TD.
  15. If (When) we lose this game, I want it to be because the competition was truly better, not because we made too many screw ups or couldn't take advantage of the opponent's screw ups.
  16. This post should have more thumbs up.
  17. Even if I were not a broke college student, 820 miles to watch our team that has lost 7 straight on the road take a drubbing? No thanks, but go Mean Green.
  18. Unfortunately, I don't think the students care that much about the team to actually notice who the head coach is or if he's doing a good job.
  19. Very happy for the UNT alum, hope he actually gets a shot in Oakland though, not just with their D-League affiliate!
  20. And Tebow is better? Hell, I'd rather have Johnny Football. And I NEVER want Johnny Football.
  21. A blowout so big could possibly force Mac to change QBs and see what he's got.
  22. We wouldn't win with either quarterback so this would be the best chance for Mac to test them all out. Will he do that?
  23. I still have confidence in our team to win the homecoming game. Yes, Portland State is better than I imagined with two impressive road wins so far, but I still believe in the "Apogee effect" and considering the distance from Portland to Denton compared to Washington State and Idaho State, there really is no regional rivalry to motivate Portland State.
  24. I'm right there with you. And I know Rice's enrollment is really small, but I graduated high school in a class of 49, and our school had a larger band than them.
