  1. When UAB's football returns in 2017, can we rearrange what conference schools we get at home and on the road each year? Sucks that all three Texas teams are either at home or on the road each year.
  2. Although different sports and levels, Alvin Gentry was hired away from the Warriors before the start of the 2015 NBA Finals.
  3. Voted. McClain's score may have sparked the team, but I think the defensive PAT by Austin Orr and Chad Davis sealed the game. Before that, it looked like a case of "the last one with the ball will win".
  4. All I have heard is people we want, but we know Rick has an entire different list. Do we have any inside information on specific targets made by Rick and/or Neal? I don't want to get my hopes up.
  5. Wilson is obviously the better player, or at least he has been this season. It helps that he's also the younger player.
  6. I think so, y'all helped us get rid of Mac!
  7. UTKFC beat us in 2013 to eliminate us from Conference USA championship game contention. We beat UTKFC in 2015 for our only win of the season thus far. Two of the three games have been embarrassing losses for both schools. Think what you what, but for this reason, I think this is the making of a great rivalry. Plus, I already hate the Roadkill's fans.
  8. Don't worry, I'm not letting one victory over a team that may just be as bad as us get to my head. Certainly, I don't think this team would have won a game if Mac had lasted the entirety of 2015. But like someone else pointed out on another thread, in Mike Canales's first stint as interim head coach in 2010, both of his wins were on the road. He certainly knows how to motivate his squad away from Denton. Will we win a road game in 2015? Or will we lose out away from Texas and extend our road losing streak to 13 games? I think we take one in Murfreesboro over our formal rival MTSU (then beat UTEP to avoid double-digit losses). Hey, a 3-5 conference record is not bad considering the low point we were at earlier this season.
  9. I think Rick or Neal said it would be announced after the season would be over, and that's one thing I agree with them on. The players obviously like playing for Coach Chico, and unless the Mean Green miraculously win out, I think it's safe to say Canales will not be the head coach in 2016. Although if the new guy was actually announced before Thanksgiving, I think that would give an incredible spark to the players before the UTEP game to end Mike's UNT career in style.
  10. Plot twist: Tennessee is still reeling from that loss to North Texas in 1975 (their only meeting) and can't focus enough: NT wins in two weeks
  11. I could see this being like our game at Georgia in 2013, keeping it very close for a half. But then we turn it over on a potential game-tying drive leading to points and then an onslaught ensues. 100,000 people rooting against us won't help our odds either.
  12. Dressed up as Fred from Scooby Doo on Saturday, I thought about making a sign reading: "Here's the Mystery: Why is Rick still here?"
  13. I love this analysis.
  14. For the UTKFC fans who didn't think this was a rivalry before the game, I'm sure some have changed their minds after their team just gave up UNT's first win of the season. So while UTKFC still holds the edge, 2-1, I think there will be some bitterness begin to develop. Just like us and SMU, this year. If we turn out to be SMU's only win this year, I swear to God....
  15. The crowd was definitely more audible than past highlight videos! (And also a lot more there)
  16. I am really excited about next season with Smith at the helm. Student interest is always restored for the first game of the season, and since it's a very winnable game in SMU, we could have a very nice bounce-back year. I do agree with all that has been said. He needs to tuck the ball when he runs. I'm kind of surprised his fumble wasn't reviewed to see if the ball had ever broken the plane but our team made up for it. The team as a whole has really cut the turnovers down, I think the only one last week was an INT that had been deflected behind the line of scrimmage. Last night seemed to be the first night that him and Carlos Harris got into a rhythm, which was very nice to see. I wish he wasn't always so quick to dart from the pocket. But I'm only a sophomore here, when's the last time we had a dual-threat QB running things (Besides Dajon)?
  17. With how bad Rice's secondary was, we should have been at least 2-0. But UTKFC would have probably been our next win, we made each opponent in between look eons better than us.
  18. The QB kneel at the end. When's the last time we were able to do that? (rhetorical) GMG

  19. So the same as the announced attendance for WKU? Wow. There was definitely more people there than the WKU game.
  20. Terrible terrible playcalling. I have respected Chico since he became interim head coach, but the play makes me want him gone.
  21. I blame RV. If he was a good AD, he would raise the ceiling for our school.
  22. I'll be in my costume as Fred from Scooby Doo. See ya there, gang!
  23. My bad, guys. Considering the result of Portland State, I forgot that people (including me) had picked us to win. I was thinking the Rice or SMU game was the last time Vito picked us.
  24. I love John Williams, too.
  25. I said the consistent winner, but if you consider a few "awful seasons" as 4-8 and 5-7, what would you call this season? P.S. In 2017, no way we're losing the Heart of Dallas Bowl in our own backyard!!!
