Our athletic department is pushing for this to be our stadium's first sellout, so make sure you bring your share of fans. Hoping y'all continue last year's bad luck on the road, at least for this game. I'm looking forward to making the trip up in a few years for the second game.

Well guys, I tried to get us another home game with a D-I opponent. Doesn't appear it's gonna work. -
Fairfield guard Jasper Floyd transferring to UNT
Matt from A700 replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Basketball
With Atin's catch the other day and now this video with Floyd, I like what the social media team is doing trying to spotlight and introduce the new players. Would like to see this segment continue on with all the newbies and see how Dello's on-camera personality grows, too. -
You will be sitting with Mean Green fans in our block as well, in better seats, for $10/seat less. The allotment that is passed along from the opposing home team is always for the worst sections, and while there most likely won't be anyone stopping you from moving over in Mobile, that won't be the case at our other efforts in Lubbock and San Antonio. I understand the viewpoint that our organization may compete with the ticket office for football, since it is the one sport you can buy tickets for road games through the ticket office. And if you choose to do that, no problemo with me, I just want to see a lot of green in Mobile. But I've been told by AD staff that they make crumbs off those away game tickets. And there's no push made by them to get people to buy those tickets. Hell, my sophomore year in 2015 they were bussing people to the SMU game. Last fall, not only were there no buses, but they weren't even telling people to go to the game, they were pushing the ESPN2 broadcast instead. Additionally, my big personal undertaking to recruit people to join has been through LinkedIn, where you can easily filter UNT alumni based on the market they live in. It is much harder to earn commitment to attend by reaching out to a stranger, and then directing them to a link where you have no visibility. Where I may rob the athletic department a few hundred bucks over the course of the three games by getting people to buy through our group instead of the ticket office, maybe I can make it up by enticing some of those strangers (specifically at the UTSA game) to join the alumni association and become more engaged with UNT Athletics again (or for the first time). And while the price difference won't be as dramatic for the South Alabama game ($10), I am also looking at coordinating group outings from afar for the other three games at FAU, Memphis, and Temple - I've already reached out to their ticket offices for pricing. I thought the prices passed along for the FAU and Memphis games, large stadiums that never sell out, were especially alarming - $45!! Through group pricing it'd be less than half of that! If you haven't bought your tickets yet and want to join our party, let me know!

Won't work, no tickets available. The opposing fans have taken up all the inventory.

‘27 QB Zephyr Kreye - Denton Guyer

Couldn't find his stats (I guess he's only entering his sophomore year?) but that is an awesome name. Assuming the last is pronounced like "CRAY"? -
I will identify myself. I down voted @Big Z. I think I may be more tired of the early doomsday complaints than NIL.
-
He has the beard to do so.
-
If I'm compiling all of his stats correctly, he's got career statistics of 11-17 for 175 yards and 2 TDs. Couldn't confirm if any of the six incompletions were interceptions.
-
I agree with other posters, if losing kids to NIL is all that's on your mind, keep it to yourself or rant on another one of other countless doomsday threads. We had a whole year to lose Cash McCollum and it looks like he'll be suiting up for us.

Reminder if you don't have Labor Day Weekend plans, join us in Mobile. Group sales start this Thursday for $13/ticket and right now I've got the commitments to buy about 30-40 tickets this week. FB event page: https://fb.me/e/20vtYbKkf

MBB: Evansville Home Game (now season opener....Nov. 5)
Matt from A700 replied to SUMG's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Which was a 12-win improvement, to add. This news makes me believe that we have accepted Evansville to be our best OOC home opponent and adjusted accordingly. Atin Wright, who transferred from Drake, went 3-0 against Evansville last year. -

Kinda sucks that we had to play a team challenging ALS in Round 2. I didn't watch the game, but if the refs truly were awful, I wouldn't be surprised. They're a more feel-good story than us. -
Jeff Wilson may be back on the market

Two NFL teams, and three UFL teams in this state, it's kind of depressing how few Mean Green alum are given local chances. -

Let's welcome it. I've seen many other alumni forums and GMG.com is by far the best/easy-on-the-eyes designed. -
So if the ACC loses half of its teams, what's your replenishment plan?
-
Are OSU/WSU enticing to any conference at this point? Sure, the MWC commish's comment is probably just for leverage, but if they weren't close enough to add travel partners for Cal/Stanford, I don't think they'd be anyone's radar. If it weren't for Cal/Stanford, I'm sure Memphis/USF/Tulane/UAB/FAU would be higher targets for the ACC if their conference implodes. And once the best teams in the ACC leave, you're mostly left with a bunch of 1-sport schools. At that point I'd hope to see a more regionalized reorganization between those leftovers, The American, the MWC, and maybe some of the top CUSA/Sun Belt schools. Of course, that won't happen, so I'm still hoping we position ourselves to be part of the Pac-12's reorganization.

This may slightly hurt high school recruiting, but 105 guys can't get PT in a season. A year or two in, those extra 20 will be in the portal as normal when they haven't seen the field and are only getting crumbs of the NIL pie.
