With a 6 month old it’s sometime easier to type that get the pod set up. Hopefully more of both in near future.

Well Danny Macs recruiting after the health issues was non-existent. Seth had a historic first class then he struggled in the middle years. He found success in the end, but it was too late. When Eric Morris was hired it was too late to make a splash in the early signing period. But rebounded and won some historic recruiting battles when it came to Feb signing period. Winning the recruiting battle for Jayven Anderson and Taylor Starling was huge. They both are top ten recruits of all time for North Texas according to 247 Sports. The staff lost two signees in Jake Long from Angelo State and James Burn from Austin Peay. Jake changed path and headed to Duke. While James decided to stay on the East coast. other than that, the only two decommits from the Morris ERA as of now are Davion Hurth from Mesquite Horn (UTSA) and Ronnell McLain from Desoto (UH). I understand the McLain move. Can't blame a kid for wanting to make the jump to the BIG 12. The Hurth is a head scratcher and a tough loss. But Morris and Co have held their own against UTSA. In fact, they have won more battles than they lost against Traylor so far. I think the Hurth loss is a product of negative recruiting and HS coach getting involved. We will see how it will play out. But let’s look at the guys currently committed. Because I think we really need to give this staff credit for some of the guys they have got in the boat so far. Look at some of these offer lists.
Commits
Brandon Jones - LB South Oak Cliff
21 Offers- Arizona State, Missouri, Houston, SMU, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, UTSA and Washington including more.
Kerry Williams - CB South Oak Cliff
8 Offers- Ole Miss, UTSA, Purdue and Tulsa including others.
Christopher Barnes - WR North Shore
15 Offers- Marshall, UTSA, Washington State, Texas State, and La Tech including others.
Luke Carter- TE Katy
8 Offers - Texas Tech, Rice, Marshall and Tulane including others.
Brandon Young Jr.- TE Mansfield Legacy
9 Offers – Arkansas State, Army and Air Force among others.
Jacques Spradley-Demps – WR Jarell
8 Offers – Baylor, TCU, Texas State and Arkansas State among others.
Jaydon Smith - CB Ingleside
11 Offers- Boston College, Nebraska, Washington, and Army among others.
Tyler Harrington- TE Kingwood
4 Offers- UIW and Cornell among others.
Micho”Tank”Lavine- LB Millwood
6 Offers- UTSA, Washington State and Kent State among others.
With more puzzle pieces on the way. I can't remember in my years covering North Texas recruiting a more impressive start to a class. I think once the games start, and North Texas has success on the field it will only improve. Exciting times ahead.

Here is the thing. They are 16-18 year olds. I had two gfs at one point when I was that age because I had trouble making up my mind. But we get upset at the same age kids for not being able to make a 40 year desicsion and stick to guns when you have grown adults throwing out money and negative recruiting. Not to mention HS coaches and families getting involved. I truly think that a very high percentage of these kids are 110% committed when they commit. But things change. Its not because coaches stopped recruiting. This staff has landed commitments from 4 of the top 10 highest ranked recruits in North Texas history (Ratings Era). 2 have signed. 2 have committed. This staff is working there butts off and what they have done so far has been impressive.

Every time I pick Shemar, my expectations are exceeded.
Vote for Shemar!
(My Prediction is now Jordan Martin)
You miss 100% of the shots you never take. Keep guessing Shemar and you will eventually be right.

He made his top 3 a couple days ago. It was TCU, Baylor and us. I reached out to the staff and asked if it was him. But I didn't get confirmation.

Players come here and especially after they commit and interviewed. Its just annoying seeing thread after thread derailed. We had one Kid decommit for Duke. One kids from the East Coach decommit for UCONN. One kid decomitt because he got a big 12 offer and we act like the sky is falling. All while locking in some out best commits the last decade. it give me a head ache

@TheReal_jayD, when we lose a verbal like this, what typically happens with the offer? Do we leave it on the table, or rescind it and shift the priority to a new player?
I don’t think they rescind the offer. Because we have seen kids reverse track in past and re commit. But I def think the staff starts recruiting other kids to feel spot as well. But even if we have say a QB committed. This staff stays in contact with other QBs as well in case a decommit happens

Highly regarded North Shore Wide Receiver Christopher Barnes is set to take his Official Visit to North Texas this weekend. The 5'8 speedster has over a dozen offers currently. With offers most notable from Washington State, UTSA, and Texas State. Christopher has already taken official visits to Toledo and Sam Houston State. North Texas has had success recruiting North Shore since Eric Morris took over. The Mean Green landed two from North Shore the last recruiting cycle in Evan Jackson and Jayven Anderson. The staff hopes to keep the pipeline to North Shore to North Texas growing.

North Texas lands a commitment from Millwood athlete Micho "Tank" Lavine. He is 6'3 208 lb RB. But North Texas is recruiting him at Linebacker. He is the 24th ranked player in the state of Oklahoma according to ON3.com. Lavine held offers from UTSA, Washington State and Kent State. Watching the highlight film Micho is a man among boys. When asked what made North Texas the best fit? 'It felt like home honestly, and I loved the coach staff especially coach Kratch." Lavine said. He is not afraid of contact. Lavine is the 9th commit in the '24 North Texas Class and the 3rd commit this week.

6'2 WR/TE out of Kingwood makes his commitment to North Texas. He is North Texas 7th commit for the '24 class. This may be the steal of the class so far. I think he is under recruited due to being a little undersized at 6'2. But Tyler can flat out play.

We just lost two portal guys less than a month ago. Both had reasons. But portals aren’t home runs.
