What makes that penalty call, and the Side & Back judge performance last night, so infuriating is that the Side judge was right on top of the play and did not throw the flag for taunting. That flag came from the Back judge 15-20 yards away. Either she is deaf and the Back Judge has incredible hearing or the Side judge was way over her head.

And to think each of them will get a nice little $2500 check for their performance tonight...

I brought two people with me last night that are new to the area and have no affiliation with UNT for their first Mean Green game. When they started with the "cheer lessons" they both turned to me and asked if those cheers were new for this year. As soon as I told them that I did those same cheers in the student section 15 years ago, they both let out a collective gasp and a "oh I'm sorry"....

I'm in my first year as a part of the Dallas Football Officials Association. Both chapters need more guys and gals that love the game and would be willing to learn and officiate. The first step is to go to www.taso.org and click the link at the top right "new applications". Depending on where you live and/or work you will want to then join the Dallas or Ft Worth officials association. its never too late! Go for it!

Back Judge pulled a hammy. The "C" center judge moved from the backfield to to take the Back judge spot and they worked the game from then on with 7 officials.
