Week 4 Unis: Codename Necessary Roughness

Great look!!!! -
Just how dominant has UNT been in the first 3 games?
NT93 replied to casual fan's topic in Mean Green Football
I know. I was just trying to be funny by offering up possible, yet implausible, reasons. I assume it's just a mistake on someones part as I can't imagine a scenario where it would actually be correct. -

NT93 replied to casual fan's topic in Mean Green Football
I was wondering exactly how many points the 1st team had given up. I was thinking about 21 points, but too lazy to actually figure it out. Thanks for the info. That's fairly dominant I don't care who you're playing. Based on the discrepancy of the points allowed between the two posts (19 vs 20), I guess either there was touchdown scored at the end of the 3rd, but the extra point wasn't kicked until the 4th, OR we didn't have our 1st team in for an extra point. ππ Any other theories? -

Scooter Magruder's College Football Fan Reactions Week 3
NT93 replied to jtm0097's topic in Mean Green Football
Love it!!! -
I feel like the play was the impetus for the blowout. Ooops, guess I missed the smiley too.ππ Thank you! Had the Ark. players just stood in front of him, he possibly would have just taken a knee. At the very least they could have just grabbed him and the refs would have probably had a very quick whistle. Great post PokeyPig. I love it when level headed fans from other teams visit the forum leading up to the game.

I said the exact same thing to my uncle...yesterday, before the beatdownπ

If you really want to talk about officiating let's talk UT/USC. Clearly a safety yet replay did not overturn the call.

Liberty fans react to UNT win over Ark.

Haha. Yeah, pretty sure UTSA would disagree. On a related note, I thought Mason did a fantastic job of getting rid of the ball to avoid sacks, etc. Several of his incompletions were throw-aways and some of those were very smart plays. -
I'm just glad there is instant replay so that terrible calls can be corrected...oh, wait, nevermind.

Liberty fans react to UNT win over Ark.

They do have 6 picks against Arkansas... Yes, but they were in a must pass situation for most of the game and their 2nd string QB had to come in as well. I thought he was talking about Ark. being in must pass situations and having to bring in their 2nd string QB. Seems as though he was giving reasons as to why we had 6 ints. -

Hats off to all you guys referenced in this post. Got to be honest...I thought all of you were nuts picking a UNT blowout. I predicted a win and to my credit I was pretty close on our score (if we hadn't scored in the 2nd half). I've never been so happy to be wrong. -
We went into Arkansas and OUR subs gave up a late touchdown to make the score look a little less dominating. WE were the team "going through the motions*" just wanting to the clock to run out and the game to end. To beat them is one thing, but we did to them what most of the P5 schools have done to us over the past several years. IT IS GREATNESS!!!!! *I don't think we ever stopped playing hard, just using the term to indicate that nothing we did in the 4th quarter was really going to effect the outcome of the game.

UNT 31 ARK 28 -
Just to be clear, I'm not bothered by it. My responses have been fairly tongue in cheek. I just thought it was kind of funny that someone explained the difference between the two signs and someone else replied, "Why is this so hard?", and then it took me 10 seconds to find a picture of a UNT player with both palms facing forward. Again, just finding a little humor. I do look forward to the day an Aggie or Sooner flashes the H-town sign. I'm sure it will mean a lot to those two fan bases, regardless of what it means to the playerπ
-
Please refer to my avatar. https://youtu.be/qYx0_veVMUE So, 15 seconds in...he's got palms forward, so I assume he isn't giving the Hook'em Horns on purpose.
-
Regardless of what various hand signs may mean in pop culture, in the college football world the hand sign is definitely "Hook'em Horns." so it looks ridiculous for a player from another team to be flashing the sign. I doubt very seriously you'd see an Aggie from H-town flashing the sign. Love the uni's, but the helmets are definitely Oregon-esque. So we're copying Oregon's helmets and flashing UT's hand sign.

True.

Agree 100%. The odds of any P5 (SEC) losing back-to-back games to any G5 schools has to be pretty low. Hopefully we can match the Hogs emotion.

Funny you posted this today because I was just thinking earlier today about a hypothetical of trading McNulty for Fine. How much different would each team have been because of one player? I know the team around him wouldn't have been as good, but I think Mason would have been worth at least a couple of wins on those bad teams. Conversely, would last years team have won 5 games with McNulty? (I'm singling out McNulty because, as mentioned, he was probably the best of the bunch)

I hope I'm able to see this run on the highlights. ππ FYI: Houston/Arizona game is on ABC also.

I'm sure I may reach double digit downvotes for saying this, BUT... if all we ever wore were white pants, green helmets, and either green or white jersey I'd be very content.
