  1. My problem with SL was that, as a general rule, we weren’t competitive against good teams. Yes, we usually beat the bad teams which is great, but we got spanked most of the time when we played a good team. Losses by 20+ points/total losses 2016: 5/9 2017: 4/5 2018: 1/4 2019: 3/8 2020: 5/6 2021: 3/7 2022: 4/7 Under SL, 25 of our 46 losses (54%) were by 20+ points. Things under EM just don’t seem similar to that in my opinion.
  2. The green and white hearts could be seen as sign that it’s UNT related. Plus, no other school can give him NIL money now. But, yes, I’m definitely giving him the benefit of the doubt.
  3. No one is more anti NIL than me, but it seems like maybe he’s letting UNT area businesses know that he’s open to offers.
  4. P-4? I guess if a big dog comes calling, maybe, but he was at a P-4 before he came to UNT so that seems kinda like going backwards.
  5. Insanity would have been keeping SL and expecting different results. I, and others, have said it before: SL was good for UNT, but it was time to move on.
  6. I get what you’re saying and I don’t mean to come across as “Old Denton,” but a key point is that we are beating the bad teams…handily. Army has only beaten bad teams and look where it’s gotten them.
  7. You want to pull the plug on a 5-2 season? I’m obviously disappointed in the outcome last night, but I’m excited about the rest of the season. I’ve been waiting for football season since last December and we’re having a good season, why wish it away?
  8. As I stated earlier, I think it was from the standpoint that we were new to the AAC and Memphis was one of the top dogs, so we really proved that we belonged. I felt like our games last year against Memphis and Tulane proved that we can compete in the AAC, so in year two, there are no more moral victories.
  9. I agree. I felt like last year was a moral victory against them to some degree, but there are no moral victories left on our schedule.
  10. I’m with you. Love it!
  11. It shouldn’t, but crazy stuff happens at every level.
  12. Sound like UNT vs Texas Tech. A game can get out of control quickly.
  13. How do I have no recollection of this? I’m sure at the time I thought Wyche was a jerk, but in hindsight it’s pretty funny.

  15. I guess the obvious answer is that they expect us to beat Memphis Saturday. There really can be no other reason.😄
  16. Am I overlooking Memphis on that graphic?
  17. Well good. That means you’re correct. kidding, kidding
  18. Hahaha. That makes me think of Dana Carvey doing the George Bush skits…”Wouldn’t be prudent.”
  19. I’m not assuming that. You said “all of a sudden we’re looking ahead to being ranked after we beat 3 really good teams in a row.” I was just stating why I thought it was realistic for people to think we could be ranked if that happened.
  20. I don’t disagree with you, but Army is ranked and their schedule is worse than ours. Any team who is 8-1 is going to get consideration.
  21. I forgot all about SFA, but thanks for reminding me since the defense only gave up 13 points that game. Defense gave up 10 points to Wyoming. Defense kept us in the Tulsa game until the offense woke up midway through the 2nd quarter. 14 of Tulsa’s 20 points (and arguably 17 of the 20) came in mop up duty. So the defense has games where they’ve given up 13, 10, and 6 for all practical purposes and you’re saying the offense had to save those games? As I said, I’ll give you USA and FAU. Not giving you Tech because it was a meltdown all the way around. I could make a good argument that the offense was worse than the defense in Lubbock.
  22. That’s simply not true. You may need to re-watch the Wyoming and Tulsa games. Some will say it’s because those two teams have terrible offenses, but our defense was actually pretty good in those games. So that leaves USA and Tech. I think it’s a bit of stretch, but I’ll give you that the offense had to outscore USA. Now Tech…that was a total team effort…though I feel like the 3 interceptions contributed to the game going downhill so fast. So, not sure how you can say “Like many of our games this season.”
  23. Of course I want to spoil this, but I’d be a fantastic consolation prize🤣🤣🤣
