I tend to be more in the “Ruder is our savior” camp, but it’s hard to argue with anything in this post. Boy would I like another season of Freshman Jamario. Those are some of my best memories of UNT football. -

This is the biggest thing for me. The guy may end up being the best dline coach UNT has ever had, but right now it doesn’t look good.

I think it will be Aune, but I’m kind of pulling for Martin. I get the feeling that he just wins. This is probably absolutely ridiculous considering I have no tangible reason for thinking so. Purely a gut feeling* * another gut feeling I had was that Kody Fulp was going to be a stud for us, so...😬😫 -
This can’t be true because no one who coached at Baylor under Briles is a “high quality person.” At least that’s what I’ve read on this forum.😬

Interesting observation and probably true. I guess one of the main victims of this extra year of eligibility will be your high school seniors who could have played at a small college, but will now likely be left with no opportunity to play college ball.

I was only 5 when he retired, so I obviously don’t remember watching him play, but he was still one of my all time favorites. Definitely one of the good guys.

This is where I think the new defensive staff will make a big difference...getting people in their best positions. I think we’ll have a fast, athletic, aggressive defense next season.

When I first read this I was very disappointed/concerned, but after taking time to think about it (and read some good opinions here), I’m not too concerned. I think the only way we really miss him a lot is if we have injury issues that deplete our depth.

Solid hire. I hope for a drastic improvement next year, but realistically I know that may not happen. I’m not sure we have the players to be elite, but I know we can be better than last year.

Yes, because Solich chose to leave Nebraska to go to Ohio. Just like RichRod chose to be at Monroe. I like your thinking though. Maybe we can convince Dabo that going from Clemson to UNT isn’t a setback. I’m sure he would love living here and coaching without the pressure of having to compete for national championships.

From head coach at WV, Mich, and AZ, to the OC at Monroe with the prospect of moving up to a HC job at MUTS or UTSA...I stand by my comment.

It’s bad enough for us to get our a**es handed to during the season, but for it to happen in the off season is almost too much to bear.
